Former Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc. employees filed a class action lawsuit. They claim the airline improperly laid off about 17,000 workers. The suit alleges Spirit failed to provide 60 days' notice under the WARN Act. This occurred while the company proposed bonuses for top executives. The employees seek back pay and other compensation from the bankrupt airline.

I used to be so proud of my work ethic. I always stayed late, took on extra, really cared. Now I feel like a total fool. The workload after the layoffs didn't decrease. It increased, because the people left are burned out and the lazy ones are still lazy. So those of us who still try are doing even more. I love what I do, I really do, but I'm so tired. Tired of working my butt off every day for a place that doesn't value me. And here's the thing. I'm probably getting cut in the next few months anyway. So why am I still doing this? Why am I not just coasting like everyone else? I'm starting to think that's the smarter move.
What happened to the "Corrupt DXE..." post? Great post - very informative, detailed, & with references. Some good responses as well.
Did an administrator pull the post? Or, one of the leaders that was called out? My concern is that OP, who was laid off last week, pulled the post out of fear of losing his/her severance.
I was laid off a few months ago and both I and most of my former coworkers still haven't found anything. Please make sure to update your resume now and reach out to your network. Don't put it off or think you're safe. Find something before they make the decision for you.
Do we know what it will be? I'm a relatively new hire, so I'm not sure if that puts me at higher risk. Is it last one in, first one out or performance based or something else entirely?

Layoffs are 100% confirmed: Anyone at this site who spends every day waiting for a meeting about being let go, anyone who no longer wants to work at Cisco, anyone who only complains about management despite the company reaching record-high stock prices, or anyone who has simply lost motivation is free to leave Cisco.
Please do not waste company resources or other people’s time. If you are ready to move on, do so now.
There are thousands of talented people with fire in their eyes who have been struggling for a long time to find an opportunity. Give them your place, and go in peace.
The new trend is to fire you for performance. Zero coaching or advance warning. Let say you are rated Meets. During mid-year, you will be surprised with IC or NI with no turnaround plan. It will be some minor issue too like failing to staple your TPS report. WFA is already planning this. It’s evil and they hope you don’t sue.
I'm putting this out there for my former coworkers who might be in denial like I was. You might be getting managed out if your work is suddenly being micromanaged. If you're getting impossible deadlines. If you're being left out of meetings you used to attend. If your responsibilities are shrinking. If your wins are being ignored. If your requests for time off or training are being denied. If you're getting in trouble for things others do daily. I saw all of these before I was let go, I just didn't want to believe it.
Any truth to this? Could be legit given end of fiscal and upcoming earnings.
I keep seeing things that make me think there will be layoffs this week? Does anyone know anything?
Why do we have both dates mentioned for layoffs? Or will layoffs actually happen on both days? I'm stressed and confused.
How much worse can it get than the situation I'm in now? Constantly worrying about cuts, dealing with an abusive manager who thinks fear is a legitimate managing tool, and being significantly underpaid compared to market. If I'm laid off, I'll be jobless but my future will look more promising than the one I see if I stay here.

if you lose the ability to print in office on or before 5/18 you are gone in early July.
Any word on upcoming TWS/RPO/WSI layoffs? Change is certainly in the air and it don’t look good.

was laid off in January but finally landed a new gig this week, now I can cash out the remaining few months of my severance. definitely a tough job market. Spent the last 4 months applying for jobs and upskilling my tech stack. I applied for over 350 jobs, about 30% got thanks but no thanks emails, 67% completely ghosted, and the remainder varying forms of interviews. while the new job pays a little less than wf, but has a lot of career upside, great benefits, and in office requirements are much less stringent. Definitely a different job market, but there are jobs out there. try not to get discouraged
There are no jobs, economy is going under, the entire world is in a crisis... How is that a good time to lose your job?

When I got the news that I was being laid off a few months ago, I expected to be devastated. Instead, I felt a wave of relief. Dell has been a mess for too long and I hated my job for far too long. I don't know if I got lucky or the job market is not that bad, but I had a new role within two months. Smaller company and much better culture. Just wanted to say, it's not all bad.

I was laid off 3 months after starting here. Looking back, I missed the signs. Exploding offer, nervous recruiter, vague job description, no salary range. Learn from my mistake.
