A friend of mine was interviewing for a new role and got asked 3 specific questions: why he left his previous job at Cigna, and if he still had a good relationship with them. Then interviewer asked why he thinks Cigna laid off a lot of people and the friend told them about HIH and how most Cigna IT jobs moved to India.
The interviewer explained that they were building a US-based team specifically for a Cigna client account, and he would need to interact with them regularly.
The funny part is, my friend’s skillset is highly niche, and Cigna only has one specific team that uses this tool. When the interviewer started laying out the specific systems he'd be maintaining, my friend casually replied, "Yeah, I was one of those who built those."
The agency was unknowingly trying to hire him back into the exact same team he had just left.

There has been a lot of speculation here about whether we are being prepared for a sale, breakup or some other mega restructuring.
No one here knows if that is actually happening. But with the layoffs, VSP, outsourcing, business exits and all the Mission Simplfy changes, it seems worth asking what employes are seeing internally.
Are you seeing bus units being separated or simplified in ways that would make them easier to sell?
Are shared functions like finance, HR, tech or ops being split more clearly by line of business?
Are leaders asking for more detailed reporting on headcount, budgets, profitability or costs by individual business unit?
Have you seen unusual work around contracts... systems, vendors, assets or employee lists that seems designed to identify what belongs to each part of the company?
Does the Cognizant outsourcing look like normal cost cutting??? or does it look like Centene is trying to reduce the amount of internal infrastructure it carries?
Are there certain businesses, markets or LOBs that look more likely to be sold, exited or separated than others?

Mutual of America’s move to Outsourced Indian Labor will backfire & here is why.
Sen. Bernie Moreno’s Halting International Relocation of Employment (HIRE) Act is drawing international backlash, particularly from India, where major political and economic figures warn the legislation could severely disrupt the country’s booming tech-services economy. The bill proposes a 25% excise tax on U.S. companies making outsourcing payments to foreign workers, aiming to protect American jobs from being shipped overseas.
Jairam Ramesh, General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, raised alarm over the bill, calling it a direct threat to India’s IT services, business process see outsourcing (BPO), consulting firms, and global capability centers (GCCs). Ramesh said the bill “reflects a growing mindset in the U.S.” that white-collar jobs should not be lost to India, much like blue-collar manufacturing jobs were lost to China.
India’s tech sector, heavily reliant on U.S. contracts, is bracing for economic fallout. Ramesh warned the legislation, if enacted, could light a fire under the Indian economy and force a major reassessment of U.S.-India economic relations.
The bill, introduced in early October and referred to the Senate Committee on Finance, establishes a “Domestic Workforce Fund” that would receive the tax revenue and use it for American workforce development. It also removes the ability for companies to deduct outsourcing payments from their tax filings.
Moreno said the HIRE Act is about ending the decades-long practice of “globalist politicians and C-Suite executives” outsourcing American jobs to chase lower labor costs. His bill, he argues, will “hit them where it hurts: their pocketbooks.”
Indian officials and economists see the HIRE Act as an expansion of economic protectionism. Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan warned that the bill represents a “creeping extension of tariffs from goods to services.”
The proposal follows Moreno’s earlier SAFE HIRE Act, which received backing from labor unions for imposing strict penalties, including prison time, on company executives who knowingly hire illegal aliens. Together, the two bills form a coordinated effort to reshape U.S. labor and immigration policy by punishing companies that prioritize foreign workers over Americans.
India’s tech sector is already under strain from a recently imposed $100,000 H-1B visa fee. The HIRE Act, if passed, would further restrict access to U.S. job markets, cut off billions in service export revenue, and put thousands of Indian tech workers at risk.
PeaceHealth is eliminating 150 technology positions as it outsources its IT operations to The HCI Group. These job cuts will take effect in November. The majority of the affected roles are based in Vancouver, Washington. This move is part of a larger strategy to modernize the health system's technology infrastructure. PeaceHealth states that on-site technology support will continue across its facilities.

Don’t any of you know they are outsourcing AI/TP and staff have already left or moved and the rest are getting laid off soon? And don’t you know they are outsourcing MSK too? They are just getting rid of depts by using vendors instead of us. They sure do “love” their staff so much that they don’t want to pay salaries and benefits.

I went to Wells Fargo and it's the same sh-t over there, layoffs come in waves and they are trying to outsource as much as they can. Cannot trust management, they tell u one thign and then turn on a dime tomorrow. It's even worse because of all limitations that were imposed on the bank a few years back due to the scandal. A couple of years ago we outsourced about 50 Sourcing roles to Panama.
A good amount of the folks who lost their jobs all had at least 15 + years of tenure. Part of the Panama team will be working the GSA/4PL quotes.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room and what we can actually do about it. What can we realistically do to address this hypocrisy and push for transparency? How are we still letting leadership get away with the false claims included in multiple RFPs?
Winning contracts under the guise that Centene will create local jobs is a complete misrepresentation.
The reality? That work is outsourced for pennies on the dollar, while the extra revenue gets pocketed at the top. The promise of economic impact for our local communities is completely fabricated.
If our core values are supposed to mean something, calling out this disconnect shouldn't feel like a risk.

Cheap labor, offshore jobs, no bonuses — the whole corporate starter pack. The logic seems to be: ‘Hey, a dollar feeds someone for a day over there, so why pay more?’ Absolutely genius… if the goal is a race to the bottom. Don't forget security breaches in motherland.
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has initiated nationwide layoffs impacting its contact center employees. A few months ago there was a report that Centene was partnering with Cognizant for AI tech enabled processes. This partnership would bring about $5 billion in revenue to Cognizant, while saving Centene a ton of money by not having staff. I started doing some research on this company and was shocked at how many times they have been sued by their own employees in the last 5 years. It seems like this company wants all of the US work it can get but refuses to have US employees, and if they do have them, they discriminate until they are sued. Today, this article came out regarding Cognizant's PERM filings are suspending pending a fraud investigation regarding HB1 Visa's and other PERM filings. This investigation based on Whistleblower complaints. Centene laid off thousands of American's to partner with a company who allegedly treats their American staff like cr-p??? Is that why Cognizant works so hard to make their Indian born staff become US Citizens, so then they can legally say they had US staff? I am all for equality and work with some amazing people from many diverse backgrounds, but it seems like Centene wants to replace their staff with AI and a vendor who prefers to hire non American's ....allegedly!!!! Very sad ☹️
We all know FIS is moving some U.S. employees to Cognizant rather than directly laying them off, with those employees becoming Cognizant employees and continuing to perform work previously done for FIS. This is significant because Cognizant is currently under federal scrutiny involving H-1B visas and the potential displacement of American workers. There is currently no public evidence that FIS itself has been named as a target of that investigation. However, if U.S. employees are transferred to Cognizant and their jobs are subsequently performed by lower-cost foreign workers, that arrangement could potentially attract the attention of federal investigators. Outsourcing itself is not illegal; the key issue is whether the arrangement involves violations of H-1B or other worker-protection laws.
They are back at it - 500 people are being cut. More outsourcing, the good old cookie cutter pattern - send jobs offshore and penny pinch. Execs are getting paid, patients and workers pay the price. It's so bad, and this has to stop at some time. It makes no sense the entire country is destroyed like this. Yeah, economy is good and more $$$ for the folks at the top meanwhile jobs are gone, good jobs are gone. Trinity is not the only one, the whole state has been hollowed out like this and it continues. Nobody says anything about it. It's good for China and India and the Philippines as jobs seem to be fleeing there and I am unsure how this is good for us.

I'm tired of the constant reorgs. And the "town halls" & videos telling us about the latest managers' copy/paste priorities & "must-wins." It's so tone deaf. At this point we don't care what's important to you. You've lost the audience - we're not listening anymore. We want to hear about what's important to us - "what's your timeline on offshoring/outsourcing the rest of the U.S. based jobs?" Tell us which departments are going next so we can make some plans for our families. That's our priority.

He recently brought over former Walmart execs Nate Faust and Mark Ibbotson. Are these guys just corporate bootlickers, or are they actual leaders who know what they're doing? How did they shape the culture, what was it really like working under them, and what kind of bullsh-t or improvements should we expect?
It seems they are already outsourcing our engineering jobs within the next couple of years but I suspect that was in the works before Greg came along. Moral is at all time low and culture is becoming non-existent.

Lets get this straight. This is not your typical outsourcing. Cognizant uses TriZetto Healthcare software platform. It uses agentic AI tools like Flowsource and Agent Foundry. You are losing your jobs to A.I. and the jobs lost are gone forever. No further humans needed.
Care1st was bought out by Wellcare & then Centene. This layoff was by far the worst & they allowed departments to pick who stays & goes based off personal gain & who would fall in line for AI. People have been let go for automation that has not even been made. Mission simplify infiltrated provider management in AZ. Before that, the entire provider enrollment and representative to group content was done in house. Centene has been outsourcing as much as they could prior to. Our enrollment departments are working against each other. We do our part & their third party vendor says f you were gonna follow own made up rules and things don't get in from the jump!
Reddit thread has me anxious. Poster stating that PBM layoffs will include up to 700 Customer Care either starting on or by 1/1/27. Poster correctly stated that Care is being outsourced to vendors.
Can anyone confirm the legitimacy of this claim? I have two small children and extremely anxious. I have to make sure they’re taken care of. Care is being outsourced to other vendors but seems strange to lay off 700 people right in advance of Welcome Season (our busiest time of year).

Lemme get this right… Centene just hired the former Fannie Mae CIO to lead technology, data, and AI.

Meanwhile they’ve been cutting internal technology capabilities, pushing a ton of work to Accenture and Cognizant, reorganizing everything that isn’t nailed down, and shedding institutional knowledge along the way.

Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, is laying off 65 warehouse employees at its Raleigh distribution center. The affected workers will officially be let go on September 6th. The company cited challenges from health-conscious consumers and increased GLP-1 usage as contributing factors. While warehouse operations are being outsourced to an unnamed provider, the distribution center itself will remain operational. Frito-Lay will assist impacted employees in seeking roles with the new logistics company.
