Layoffs again ?
I’m hearing that we have another round of layoff in FI Technology. Somewhere around in Sep or year ending. This time only for contractors. Is it true and real ?
DUMMYS Guide for VSP 2027/2028
If your separation date is in 2027 or 2028, you weren't part of the RIF. The round about Sept date is for those whose job is being cut.
If your position wasn't in jeopardy, what makes you think you qualify for a Sept separation date? The answer is you don't. If your job was safe, you had two chances to change your mind about the VSP. You said "Nah, I'm good." Now you're all over the internet acting like something happened to you. It's so unfair that your job isn't being cut. GTFOH your VSP should be denied!
If you're that unhappy, stop crying online, and resign. You tried to play the system, that's on you, nobody else. Te chingaste pendejo!
P. S. This will be difficult for the UNGRATEFUL B-MS to understand. You're not losing your job, the VSP doesn't apply the same everyone. Read this again, THE VSP OPP ya you know me DOESN'T APPLY THE SAME TO EVERYONE.
Do you understand? I hope so, you're a selfish ingrate comparing yourself to someone that's losing their job. Get your lazy a-s to work!
PSP - When to expect
Severance payout received. Any idea when April end RIF'ed employees should expect PSP?
New London Calling
I encourage you all to watch the latest episode. While they didn’t state official reduction numbers, Sarah did allude that 4/5 people laid off will be from the VSP.
For an example, if the reduction goal is 5000 individuals then approx 1000 individuals will be laid off involuntarily.
Of course it is still vague information, but hopefully it helps some of you who are worried about an equally wide-spread involuntary RIF.
Are providers afraid of being laid off because of AI? No! And here's a video made by AI explaining why.
...Don't ask how many of our promo team survived the latest RIF.
ISP packages
I wasn’t eligible for VSP. If RIF’d, what can I expect? There’s nothing in policy any longer surrounding severance. Will I even get a couple weeks work of pay for just under 2y of service? Anyone have historical knowledge?
Chances
Should we assume those who were NOT eligible for the vsp are safe?? Seems like the only ones affected are the ones with vsp offers?? I also assume that if we’re not laid off we will be dealing with the fault out. But im PCC so idk how IT, or any corporate roles would impact me
UMV Organization is going to get RIF'd senior leaders leaving
Heads up: if you're on UMV, many of the senior leaders are leaving. This is one of the orgs that will get RIF'd and moved offshore with Cognizant contracting.
Leaders who took Voluntary Separation Package
Kristen SVP,
Nicole VP,
Jeremey VP
and many other managers and engineers.
Maybe they know something you don't? If you don't have a plan, start planning now.

Do they have any sense?
Please make it make sense! They basically RIFing my coworkers but they are promoting (if anything in name only) coordinators to analysts. How does that make sense???
Offshoring Medicare - just announced
Just had a department meeting, they are offshoring Medicare bus ops. made it sound like enough people took the VSP to offset lay offs but also said they didn’t know and it was above them. They claimed the VSP was a separate initiative from this and the “timing aligned” not sure how it aligned when this news could have made people choose the VSP. Not sure why they would wait to announce this after the VSP deadline. 13% of bus ops took the VSP they confirmed. Stated they were going to move people into new positions within the next few weeks which ironically aligns with the RIF date. Good luck everyone and congrats to those who accepted the VSP and it worked out.
August RIF
No rumors yet. What's the dealio? Maybe we finally sidestep it for once.
7/27 layoff are true
It has been confirmed that there have been some RIFs completed today. Unsure of how many people were affected or departments. Anyone have any more information?
SrMgr, AD, D & SD
There were several posts about the rumors of SMgr, AD, D & SD. Are they still on the target lists for the 2026-2027 RIFs?
Confused as to where we are going?
Anthem -> Carelon b/c that’s where the growth was supposed to be. Now nothing but infighting is going on at Carelon - I can’t get a straight answer on what to do and it looks like everyone is moving back to Anthem? I wonder if my old boss will take me back? Of wait, she was RIFd :(
Do ADs decide who gets RIFed
I’ve seen high performers get RIFed…if they’ve been on their ADs sh-t list. Does that imply AD had a say in the job loss? Serious feedback please no trolling
Rif's this week
Several colleagues hit with 'company wide' rifs yesterday and today. Tomorrow last day. Rifs are a fact at broadcom, even when it's not needed.
Where my partially meets folks at?
I got a partially meets for the first time in my career based on very shaky reasons that didn’t reflect my work or feedback. Anyone else in my boat? I’m assuming this just makes me first in line for RIFs, but is it an automatic de*th sentence? If my part of the business isn’t hit will I be let go anyway? Obvs no one is psychic, just wondering about lived experience.
Anyone volunteer for RIF? What was your experience like?
I am actively being recruited by other companies and been around 15+yrs. With the rumors about new layoffs getting louder daily, I am trying to figure out if there is a way to volunteer? Has anyone directly asked to be laid off? How did it go?
Who goes first RIF or VSP
I'm not sure who knows how some of these things work but the VSP gives the company the ability to plan a org flatten and restructure over time, that's the "Long Term" plan.
RIF is the big cut
So..... The order of things
Phase 1
String this along, a percentage have already and will just quit (voluntary attrition is best and cheap)
Then kick off the plan.
Step 1 - VSP notifications and dates are final
Step 2 - Month or so, after a period of time to give people that are not happy with their VSP to just quit on their own. (again voluntary attrition is cheap)
Step 3 - Some point around the month you'll see a sizable RIF to scoop out the undesirables that didn't take VSP.
Step 4 - Long departure dates, the workload will increase, metrics ill change, micro management will be the theme.
So how's that Center Of Excellence ..
,,, oened up in India after the April 2023 RIF doing?
Release dates all met?
Code excellence?
New technology advances?
Any more People First layoffs happening?
Any news on more layoffs and RIFs?
Ny unemployment
Anyone rif'd in the past collect unemployment? Do you file on your last day worked and get it after the 1 week waiting period or do you have to apply after your severance weeks are over? People with personal experience please reply.
Funniest s**t ever
Almost forgot to post about this. Heard a PL (not mine, she's amazing) one day the week before last say "Mission Simplify has nothing to do with layoffs and RIFs. It's all about operational efficiency."
Riiiiiiiight.
Severance Negotiation During Recent Industry Layoffs
With the recent layoffs and RIFs across WPP, Publicis, Omnicom, and the broader industry, I know many people are navigating a difficult and deeply personal moment.
For those who are comfortable sharing, were you able to negotiate any part of your severance package? I am particularly interested in whether companies showed flexibility around severance duration, benefits coverage, bonus or commission payments, equity, or the timing and terms of separation agreements.
No need to share anything confidential or identify yourself publicly. My hope is simply to help people better understand what may be negotiable and advocate for themselves during an already challenging time.
Confirmed: Supporting Function layoffs
Hot off the presses. Not really the presses; I found this out by accident via a careless senior employee. I’ll leave it at that.
Supporting Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Gov. Affairs, Administrative Services, etc.) will see a RIF action. No timeline was mentioned. Names were not stated but roles were. Obviously I’m not going to mention those role titles because you can tell many of them are only held by one person. Eg if Nike has a role called “Director of Currency Transactions in Latin America” that probably means one specific person. I made that example up but you get the point.
It appears that like with prior layoffs there’s an emphasis on higher level roles. My surprising takeaway was the number of Director and higher positions in some of these orgs. For example one of these orgs is about 50% worker bees and 50% Directors or higher! This matches what I’ve seen in some Nike orgs where they became top-heavy when times were flush. Can’t have ten senior managers overseeing ten actual workers.
I can’t say I’m surprised. With a few exceptions I believe Supporting Functions has mostly avoided layoffs so far. It was going to be their turn eventually. Especially with those orgs that are top-heavy.
RIFs as covert retaliation
Share your story about how the Medtronic RIFs were used to engage in covert retaliation by the "World's Most Ethical Company" aganst you or a colleague
Sociopathic VPs
Is there a requirement for VP's to be sociopaths? They seem to be required to lack empathy or remorse and engage in manipulative behavior to achieve that level.
It is truly disturbing to watch them in action.
I think the annual RIFs are some kind of sick psychopathic game they love to play on us to keep people in line. It must give them pleasure to destroy people's lives year after year for no reason other than to advance their own career.
Early Retirement?
I've heard talk about RIFs later in the year. Any talk about Early Retirement being offered?
New CHRO
Beware the new CHRO Samantha H
My hubby works for Verizon n says she smiles big n projects positivity n then will turn around and RIF hundreds of y’all
If you have a chance, bask her how many people she layed off at Verizon
She and her people are notorious for retaliating against employees too so be careful
RIF engineering in NM today.
2 OSP engineers in NM walked out 7/16
basking ridge
Any one else rif'd at HQ?
"Laid off", not "impacted"
I wish people would stop parroting the "impacted" euphemism. It's either "laid off" or "fired". Not even "RIF", because that implies that the job is gone. The job is never gone, it's just done by someone else that remains.
Exact date of RIF
Anyone know when we will know if we are safe or not? Sure heard first week of August but how is that when they keep changing the dates of everything else?
RIFs Tomorrow
Several have been communicated to today. The rest in the morning. Any word on what groups are impacted?
More RIFs incoming soon to Medicaid business support
"The company continues to evaluate the strategic positioning of its Medicaid portfolio, and recently reached an agreement with officials in DC to exit its Medicaid market. Boudreaux said to expect additional exits over the next 12 to 18 months...
HONA voluntary RIF?
With the spin-off…. Any rumors of offering packages?
July 2026 RIF
Company wide reduction in force.
Low Net Adds = More Rifs
It's that simple, the current work force is broken. Good luck on the unemployment line.
