Now that WF is moving to bi-monthly pay periods starting 2027, how would layoff schedule will change?

Do you think the Tuesday after pay day is written in stone or in the Constitution? They'll always figure out how to lay off people
It will shift to the new schedule - being the Tuesday after each pay cycle. That would mean a potential of layoff dates in a calendar year. Of course there will be less than that due to the period of time in early January when HR makes system updates and also removing a period in December during the holidays, and other holiday complex that may show up during the calendar year.
@OP it will actually. One of the reasons they are moving to this schedule is because now they can lay off on payday as it’s the last day of the pay cycle. It won’t cause as much havoc to do it that way. The groups of employees not moving to the new schedule will probably continue with every other Tuesday. They say they are moving to this pay schedule to reduce expense but it’s really to help reduce that headcount.
