Now that Uniondale is gone and we're all forced to commute to NYC, who here has been through a voluntary resignation? I'm curious what the process will be. Bc, I'm not voluntarily resigning. You're moving my office. You're forcing me out due to my own personal reasons why I cannot commute to NYC.

Well ranked mid career expats resigning. Even with strong relationships and support from VPs people are choosing to leave.

How many people have left imperial until now? Including resignations, early retirement or laid off.

I’ve worked here a little over two years and have seen a few people leave, but none of them mentioned getting a better offer to stay. At past jobs, managers sometimes tried to match pay or move people into a different role. I’m not sure if that’s something this place does. Has anyone seen it happen, or is notice usually just accepted?

I joined just four months ago but I hate it already. I got lucky and another company just offered me a role that pays a little less but is much closer to what I actually want and hopefully comes with less toxicity. I am grateful for the option, but I am wondering how much it'll be an issue for my resume in the future to leave a job after such a short time.

Our VP ..HT.. announced he is leaving. I was told he's an ahole but even he couldn't put up with the bigger ahole that's now his Boss. Yes Sh--Charity managed to scare away even Thakkar. Rumour has it they had a falling out. Pure SH-TSHOW!

They can take your time, your energy, and your sanity if you let them. But they can't take your dignity unless you hand it over. When you leave, whether it's your own choice or not, walk out with your head high. Don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you defeated. This place was an American icon once, and arrogance tore it down, but that doesn't mean you have to leave in pieces.

I'd like to hear if there is anyone here quit their job at Cisco to start a growing midsize company. I am thinking about it, because I find Cisco culture toxic and highly receptive. I have never worked in such a large company before and I have never felt this unmotivated in my job.

Any post-Cisco experiences? Hopefully in the lighter side

How does quitting work? Do they escort you out or actually let you ride out the 2 weeks?

I have a question for any recently laid off Cisco employees regarding taking a position within the first sixty days after notification. I’m hearing rumors that if you accept a position outside of Cisco within the sixty day window that it’s classified as resignation and the severance package is forfeited. Is this true? Nothing I’m reading within the paperwork I’m expected to sign seems that that is the case, but I’m just checking with those who have been through this process before.

I have put up with being underpaid and overworked for years because I am used to it. But my new manager has crossed a line. I refuse to be yelled at and bullied every single day by someone who only got his job because he knows how to flatter the right people. I am too old for this nonsense. I don't have anything lined up, but I'm going to give my notice next time he gets into my face.

I've been avoiding this for months. I told myself things would get better, that I could wait it out. But after the last round of reorgs happened and the latest gossip about more cuts, I've accepted that I need to leave. I really didn't want to go through the interview process again. It's exhausting and demoralizing. But I feel like I have no choice anymore. I can't stay somewhere that makes me this unhappy.

I have been looking for a way out and VZ finally gave it to me. I spent a little over 10 years here, thinking that I could be successful. That was a delusion.
While I am not happy that it was on their terms and not mine, I do have a positive spin. My daughter told me I am going to be a grandpa.
I have some hobbies that I can now pursue as employment, as I am pretty handy and did construction before this. Not that I want to do the backbreaking stuff again but I will do what I need to.

I'm leaving, and I can tell you right away I won't miss the endless approvals, the ancient systems that break daily, or watching my coworkers lose their minds. I was hired to build new things and spent four years keeping old junk running. This place broke me.

Some folks said the resignations are already starting to show on LinkedIn. One was confirmed yesterday, but I didn’t see who it was since it was on someone’s phone.

2 questions related to resignation:

1. When someone gives 2 weeks' notice, does ELV typically have them work the 2 weeks or do they let people go immediately?
2. If ELV ends employment before the 2 weeks is up, do they pay through the notice period?

As a VP, I am required to give 30 days notice to keep RSU and be eligible for rehire. I currently work in controls (second line of defense) but will be joining another competitor bank as an WIM client Advisor.

VP's (P4's) are required to give 30 days notice. Not sure if this is 30 calendar days (~4 weeks) or 30 business days (~6 weeks). Can someone clarify?

Looking for some guidance on PPTO.

I am planning to resign but have not used all my paid parental leave (PPTO). In addition, I have vacations and carry over left as well.

Does Exxon pay the PPTO as payment in lieu (PIL) similar to the unused vacations. Does carry over vacations also count towards PIL?
