Yep. I only work to keep my parents happy. It was extremely entertaining to see my manager’s tone of delivery change in the next 1:1 when he realized.
Just had to leak it to his favorites on visa. I don’t blame them, this country is great, and anyone with half a brain would know they’d do almost anything to stay.

@OP There was someone in our org who announced a few months ago that they were going to retire in October and they got impacted. Lucky them! But sad that someone else’s role couldn’t have been saved instead. Waste of money to pay severance for someone who had already announced retirement.
