Dell layoff pattern

Has anyone else noticed a growing pattern / trend with Dell layoffs where "someone" will "leak" information about a particular group or org's upcoming layoffs, but layoffs are not for months out. Then, the company will do everything in its power to make their lives a living he-l so they quit on their own before their slated layoff time.

I've seen this pattern over and over now. Pretty slimy way to run a business. The forced attrition has gotten out of control.

Why most layoffs only in GT

Why does only technology bear brunt of layoffs everytime? In the finance and business, we have directors without any reports or 1-2 reports, directors reporting to directors but those are overlooked and everytime GT suffers from most layoffs?

I have a theory that, the uneducated id--t hill doesn't understand technology unlike his predecessor, so everytime GT needs to make sacrifice for the lack of our CEO's intelligence (which separately gets reflected in the fall of stock price from 85 to 55)

If PIP is going to be their main attrition tactic

I hope I just get laid off in these next rounds. A layoff is a band-aid ripped off with severance. PIP is torture. You still try, because some stupid part of your brain thinks you can beat it. So you exhaust yourself 'improving,' only to get fired anyway, just without the severance. What other tricks do they have planned?

How to volunteer for layoff/RIF

Hi everyone, i know it's a long shot, but I am genuinely looking into how to possibly "volunteer" for layoff. I am burnt out and going to take a career break, but how can I be part of layoffs if there is a second round? Might as well try to get some severance pay, based on hcsc policy for years worked here. Seriously asking/inquiring. Here come the troll/mock replies, I'm sure...

Pondering a post-IBM life

I’ve been at IBM since 2013. Since that time I’ve seen most of the coworkers I counted as friends get laid off. (Why do we have to say “RA” just because the terms “lay off” and “laid off” cause IBM heartburn?) Given my age and my tenure at IBM, I can’t help but feel a bullseye forming on my back. Still, I’m more at peace with this idea as time goes on. Much of that is because I have yet to talk to any former IBM employee who wishes they were still with Big Blue.

Severence - anyway to expedite?

Laid off 3/5/26. Electronically submitted severence paperwork the next day. People say it takes 2-3 pay periods until it’s paid out. Is there any way to expedite?

Asking as I might take another internal position (I’m in the hiring process). You forfeit severance if you are hired back on BEFORE your severence pays out.

Would like to get severence AND get back on since the job market is terrible where I live.

Any suggestions from this group?
