Severence - anyway to expedite?

Laid off 3/5/26. Electronically submitted severence paperwork the next day. People say it takes 2-3 pay periods until it’s paid out. Is there any way to expedite?

Asking as I might take another internal position (I’m in the hiring process). You forfeit severance if you are hired back on BEFORE your severence pays out.

Would like to get severence AND get back on since the job market is terrible where I live.

Any suggestions from this group?

To All Those Laid-Off

I know it su-ks to be the one being gutted and left out. I feel for you as I have experienced it myself. As much as it is painful - there is a higher reason for you being chosen. You are being rescued even though it feels like the rug being ripped under you. You will recover and land in a better spot. You have outgrown the version of yourself at Verizon and excel anywhere you go. Sometimes the universe rips off the bandage and places you where you need to be because you are being complacent. I wish all of you much luck, success, and happiness in your post-Verizon life. I know I found in a company that actually values my opinions and work ethic. Peace be with you all especially all trolls that will come here and comment about me being lazy etc. For their information I found a job before my off-payroll date, started a week after and never took unemployment. 🤣

3 pets, 7 team members or Thinking in Thrive Boxes for Simpletons

How will my manager manage?

She has 3 pets, 2 performers, 2 under performers.

How will she fit them in the corporate Thrive boxes? With only $16,485.38 cents for raises, 2 of the pets are going to be punished by being forced into the performer box.

I do not see this working out well for my teammates. Feels like more undocumented RIF actions than NetApp's move important asset.

WDGSTIF? Who Did George Steal This Idea From? Oh, well his twin brother of course.

Do Visa workers ever get laid off?

I've been through a few layoff cycles and I don't remember ever once an employee on a H1B visa or any other work visa getting let go. H1B visa holders are considered temporary workers. Why are full time employees let go before temporary employees? Soon all of Nike will be visa workers. The American dream is for everyone except Americans.
