Get ready for deep cuts in Q4

Surprise, surprise!

The EC goal with this year's annual planning, will be to cut to the bone. The internal transformation is not going fast enough to keep up with competition, so internal development efforts will be severely cut. Why invest in outdated and undocumented infrastructure? The cost savings will be used for sourcing the needed functionality outside.

It will be a sad Christmas for many!

The Big Bloodbath Begins

Today I learned I am going to the bench in the US. Been a manager with IBM/Kyndryl for 18+ years and also forced to tell at least 6 of my employees so far they will also be moved to the bench. Bridge has to cut >$5m from the budget, overall CTO much more. Employees impacted in the US, India and Costa Rica as I know currently. All while they hire more VPs and pay huge stock dividends to the execs and tout the company has made the top 100 most loved workplaces that prioritize respect, care and appreciation for employees at the core of their operations..... I don't think so

Budget cuts related to DT merger?

Everyone is being asked to cut back on everything from coffee supplies, toilet paper, janitorial, repairs, etc. and it’s barely halfway into second quarter… what’s going on? We usually don’t see this until late in the year. Plus with the staffing cuts, it’s not making sense this early. Does anyone think this is for a DT merger?

Best of the Best

Help me understand how we can commit to doing a national event and yet we are told we are on a travel and spending freeze. Don’t spend money…..but have a rally and breakfast. I would rather spend money on my team instead of a wasteful and unnecessary event. This should not be done while we are in the 100 days of summer and have 36 other competing priories. But, the teams that dream up this event don’t have other things to do……great way to waste $ on something either no ROI. The frontline don’t even get awarded and they are who does the work. Do Better!!!!!

Layoff talk has changed the whole workplace

I have been through several restructurings before in other companies and here, but this latest situation feels different. Management keeps mentioning budget pressure and possible cuts during meetings, even when the topic has nothing to do with staffing. It has now started to feel less like planning and more like a way to keep people from questioning decisions and keeping us in our lane.
