Handed in my resignation yesterday
The team is great, but the culture is completely broken. To everyone still there, I know it's a rough job market, but there are better places out there if you are patient and take your time to find them.
Run far away
If you're considering a job at Schwab, run far away. The hustle culture is back, my toxic manager is even more toxic. He's retaliating against me for moving teams, spreading rumors about my work ethic. He's been reported to HR repeatedly and he's still at Schwab. Senior leaders don't care because he's one of them. Run far away.
Dow, BASF, Shell, Toray, and others shut down inefficient chemical units
Major chemical companies worldwide are shutting down aging and inefficient production facilities, leading to significant job losses. This wave of closures, primarily concentrated in Europe but also impacting the US, South Korea, and Japan, involves the permanent exit of substantial capacity for key products like ethylene, propylene, and plastics. The restructuring is driven by high operating costs, global overcapacity, and declining profit margins. These strategic adjustments aim to streamline operations and improve efficiency in response to evolving market dynamics.

2nd Job
I’m thinking about secretly taking a non IT job without Fidelity knowing, as I don’t think it’s any of their business. Has anyone done this?
Will they find out, and if they do, what are the repercussions?
I really need the extra income. My husband left and between the bills and the mortgage, I’m struggling to make ends meet.

Any authorization specialist get a VSP approval/denial?
Why are they still hiring
Received an email from a recruiter about a job?? Why are they hiring amidst layoffs??
Only 7 job openings in all of Shell US? Seems very low
Does Shell use third party recruiters do the hiring? 7 total job postings in US is very low. Even India seems low with 33.

Finally got a new job
Got a nice raise of nearly $20k. Nothing like getting laid off and realizing you were being severely underpaid in your previous position.

un-effing believable
Did we just hire more senior leaders from Citi / JPMorgan?
Seriously, is Factset opening nee leadership positions for senior folks from Citi and JPMorgan? All these positions will cost 7 figures each, while we have constant layoffs.
BS’s email this morning had a byline for each of the new positions and it was nothing but fluff. Are we a just jobs program for old friends of BS and SV?

Biopharma Job Cuts Depend on Second Half Trends
Biopharmaceutical companies have seen fewer layoffs in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. However, the total number of job cuts for the full year may still match 2025 levels. This outcome hinges on a significant increase in layoffs during the second half of the year. Mergers and acquisitions activity, which has risen substantially, could also contribute to future workforce reductions. The size of individual layoff rounds and the impact of M&A will be key factors in determining the year's final tally.

Quit with the surveys and let us know about the VSP
I don’t know about the others in this group but I believe they need to quit with the surveys and come on with the VSPs. Quit wasting our time so we can get on with our lives and figure out the next steps. Would these people want people ja--ing around about their jobs and wasting their time if it was them. He-l no. So come on with it and cut out the nonsense
The Constant Uncertainty Is Exhausting
Working at T-Mobile lately has been mentally exhausting.
With the layoffs, constant reorgs, leadership changes, and all the uncertainty around budgets, it's hard not to worry about job security. At the same time, the economy isn't exactly giving people confidence that finding another job would be easy.
I know I'm not the only one feeling this way. Most of us just want some stability and honest communication so we can focus on doing our jobs instead of wondering if we'll be part of the next announcement.
Places to apply
Need some ideas of places to apply because I keep applying on linkden and get rejection before anything only to keep getting notified of that same position with the same company . And i hate BNY now thanks to robin and the sh-t stains under him and need out asap
I hate everything about my job
I hate this job and this company. I'd leave if I could, but the market is awful. The only silver lining is that layoffs happen all the time, so I might get out with severance eventually.
Why hasn't any one contacted Sara Gonzales yet
Right here in Texas is Sara Gonzales( @saragonzalesunfiltered ) of Blaze TV who is working tirelessly to show how American's are loosing their jobs to other resources and to raise awareness. Why no one has connected with her and told her about the erosion of American jobs from a very American company like Sabre?

New job openings
I see loads of job openings online (linkedIn, Baker careers etc.) but notice that many have been open for months on end and keep being reposted or duplicated? Whats the deal? Theres no way we have that many actual vacancies from what I can tell. Why keep advertising these same jobs over and over but not filling them?

I wish people would follow up on their words
A lot of folks talk all the time about how they'd celebrate if they got cut, how they're not worried, and how they'd be relieved if it happened to them. But not one of them has actually handed in their notice since they started mentioning it. If leaving would be such a blessing, why are they still sitting at their desks every morning? If those who want out quit, the rest of us would have a better chance of keeping our jobs. It'd be a win, win, in my opinion.
Another motivation post
Does anyone find that they really don’t care about their jobs or careers anymore. It just seems so small . it pays the bills etc but in the grand scheme of things all the politics attached to a paycheck job just seems so out of touch. With all that’s going on in the world this really does not seem to be how people should be living out their lives

The General concensus
Like others here most would like to keep their jobs, to not have to start all over again. Nobody wished for layoffs, firings, etc. There were many times since the layoffs started that I would pray for that Golden Tuesday after payday. One would post about here and hear the smug response, I'd like to keep my job. Well wouldn't any person working just to survive. Now like others around me, the staged mid years are going on and we're getting not meets. Not meets we're told means NO severance. Like they're saying, chase the new carrot. Improve by year end or get fired, no severance for you. The kicker is they've changed the formula used for evals, where you're going to be not meets no matter what you do. They've hired 1,000's of new hires. I guess they've filled the quotas of cheap labor in the Philippines. The new hire class should be hitting the floor we're told in Roanoke, VA in the near future. Seems like that's when the closing Richmond site, will start the firings and the layoffs. As for me, since the cushy keeping the job is not an option...I am praying for a Tuesday after payday displacement. I'm envious of those fortunate to have been laid off with the golden ticket and 60 day non-working period. In retrospect, what good did it do to stay waiting for severance?! They've made it a no win situation. The beatings will continue until morale improves. The firings will continue, and they're saying sc--w your morale...they just want you to F off.
