Sitting here reading my job duties and how much of it as an IE is being replaced. I think the next roll of layoffs is going to be because positions like mine are being taken over by AI . I mean each couple of months I have less and less work due to it being automated . So, I think we are going to see this more and more throughout Texas Instruments but also probably the industry .I think this is where the next layoffs will be aimed

Take it from somebody who was laid off last year. Looking at where the company is now, I can safely said that being cut helped me dodge a bullet. I'm honestly relieved to be out of there. Severance was more than enough to get me to my next job (took me close to three months to find one). My new job pays a little less, but it has better bennies and much better job security. I'm genuinely happy now. I know everybody is nervous with the wait, but just take this into consideration.

I’m an NCM on LTSS, which we know has always been considered a “money maker” for the company, but, on a serious note, what do we think our fate is? I know AI can’t completely do our jobs, but, I’m still very fearful.

I want to preface everything with the fact that I have no idea if they’re actually planning to absorb minimal tech resources into UHG and then sell Optum. This is just a rumor that I read previously on this site.

I have two questions:

Does anyone know if this rumor has any merit?

If the rumor is true, how do you think they’ll draw the line in the sand? What teams will stay and what teams will be sold off? Will it be split by leader, onshore/offshore, etc?

I genuinely don’t know what outcome would be best. I’m just kind of curious if I can predict where my job will land.

I wish Verizon would be more transparent regarding our jobs. I’m working doing what I’m supposed to do but it’s an elephant in the room. In VCG a lot of upper management meetings but nothing definitive about layoffs are being shared or hinted. We’re all trying to read between the lines and it’s stressful.

Q2 Earnings will be a disaster (yes, we have a few days left), and all this job cutting will continue throughout 2026.

There were no meaningful, needle-moving developments in Q2: no market-disrupting announcements, no material improvement in execution, and interest rates remain elevated. That last point matters because the company is carrying more than $20 billion in debt, making refinancing and deleveraging increasingly challenging. At current levels $35-38, this stock is not 'a bargain' - it is a value trap.

The bull case largely depends on achieving more than $3 billion in free cash flow by 2028. That assumes flawless execution over the coming years. That assumption is far too optimistic. The scale of the cost reductions (layoffs, outsourcing) has significantly increased execution risk, while higher interest rates will likely slow debt reduction more than current projections suggest.

Then there’s the AI narrative. So far, it looks more like hope than evidence. Many large enterprises have discovered that indiscriminately consuming AI tokens is one of the most expensive and least efficient ways to improve productivity. Until there are measurable business outcomes—not just promises—I don’t see AI materially changing the investment case.

If you’re still at the company and haven’t started exploring other opportunities, seriously consider doing so. The current management team is delusional and underestimates both the financial complexity of the turnaround and the challenge of rebuilding the execution engine after such deep cuts. Don't expect a meaningful recovery unless the board takes decisive action.

And if you were recently laid off, I’m genuinely sorry. While it may not feel like it today, there are strong companies looking for talented people. Hopefully, you negotiated a fair severance package. Take some time to recover, then focus on your next opportunity.

Campbell's is closing its snack plant. The facility is located in Jeffersonville. This closure will result in layoffs. More than 100 employees are expected to be affected. These job losses are part of the plant's shutdown.

If we knew that once this is all over, once VSPs and involuntary layoffs are done, we're good. We can relax, we can do our jobs without worrying. Sadly, we all know that even after all the stressing and anticipation, once this is over, we'll just move on to the next round, or next reorg, or next something that'll threaten our jobs. I went from being terrified AI bubble was going to burst resulting in me losing my job to losing my job anyhow, changing the industry, and now watching as the bubble strains, eating popcorn and cheering for all of those who got rid of us to lose everything when it happens.

Coming to Centene was the worst decision I've ever made. I was thrilled when they offered me the position. Now I wish I'd never taken it.

Then I did some research. I looked at every company in our industry that I might apply to and I found they all have the same problems we do. Same complaints on the forums, same issues with management, and same uncertainty. So what's the point? I'd be jumping from one sinking ship to another. For now, I'm staying with what I know.

Delta Air Lines is changing its ground-handling contractor at Bradley International Airport. G2 Secure Staffing, LLC, the current contractor, filed a WARN notice for 100 jobs. This notice indicated potential job eliminations by August 19. Delta clarified the notice relates to a contractor change. G2 employees have been offered positions with the new contractor, HHS.
