Getting rid of longtime employees might save money immediately, but there's a lot that doesn't show up on a balance sheet. Years of knowing how things actually work can't always be handed over to someone new. Once too many of such people are shown the door, Oracle may discover just how much they were carrying. Saving money today doesn't necessarily mean saving money later.
Ive seen several postings on the Fidelity Career's site, but dont see any requirements of years of experience , any idea what the average/expection for a principle systems analyst is? Is it greater than a senior analyst?
People keep leaving with knowledge that took them years to build. A new hire can learn the basics, but they can't suddenly know all the little things an experienced employee picked up over decades. Management seems to think everything can be documented and handed over. I'd like to be a fly on that wall when they realize how untrue that is.
Are competitors paying higher than XOM for experienced hires?
The silence and consistent cancelation of meetings or pushing out is a clear indication of what we have all experienced before. They will continue to get paid as advisors long after so just update resume and fill in the time. Don't expect employee loyalty to mean anything. Proud of the time but not confident in their leadership.
Paying $385 an hour, I learned a concept called Radical Acceptance. It means completely accepting reality as it is in the present moment, without trying to fight it, judge it, or wish it were different. Whatever you experience with this company, no matter your status, whether you've been displaced, terminated, or are going through the performance management process, accept the truth. The truth is, this is a sh-t company doing sh---y things to its employees. You can't change anything; you just have to accept the truth. That's the world, and that's life. Period.
All you can do is either do your job happily or find another one.
That's the wisdom of modern psychology.
I wish this could help anyone here who is going through what I'm going through.
Peace and love
I just submitted my claim and curious if it will get approved - wondering what others experiences have been!
Is this something I'll have to deal with from now on? I haven't interviewed in a while, and the first interview I got after I started looking was online with more than 20 people. Took me a while to even realize what was going on and I left before it was my turn to speak. I know it's not professional, but I was in shock. Is this really how interviews work now?
Please share the facts here.
Also, please share your severance package details and location. It will help other affected folks to anticipate what they may experience today.
Thanks!
What’s your experience with BTC and KLTC in terms of general competency?
If given the choice, which of these colleagues would you want the o collaborate with?
I’ve only had experience with BTC, not so great but haven’t had a chance with KLTC.
I've been here long enough to know the script. They tell you you're safe to keep you grinding for mediocre pay and benefits. The second they can hire someone cheaper, you're gone. I know because I've seen it happen. Don't believe the hype. This is experience talking.
The leadership's perfect candidate has wisdom of a 50yo, experience of a 40yo, drive of a 30yo, and will work for pay of 20yo.
I see an uptick in Retirements, mostly 25 to 35 years experience each. Seems like many are being replaced by first or second year BTC staff performing the job remotely.
Dependence on less experienced, less competent persons working remotely, using AI, seems like a recipe for disaster.
What are examples of disasters, or potential disasters, that you see due to this trend?
Any convenience reps here? Accepted a convenience sales rep role and would love to hear from someone with direct experience what I’m getting myself into
I can't tell you how many fresh college grads I've watched join Nike and flame out within three months. They're hired to do a job that was invented by someone with years of experience, given next to no training, and then thrown into the fire with sky-high expectations. The result is always the same. I really feel bad for them. And I wonder if anyone in charge has realized yet that firing experienced people and replacing them with rookies might not have been the genius move they thought it was.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d appreciate hearing about:
I think hearing different experiences could help others better understand what to expect.
The "go work for a coal mine" was a bad take, but I see a lot of you are unhappy with your job. My best advice is to just leave.
With your experience, you can probably find something better, whether your pain point is a bad boss, low pay or bad coworkers..
I know the market isn't at its best and it will probably take a little long... but if Nike is what makes you unhappy, leave. You deserve to be happy. Have a great one
I’m trying to understand what the actual purpose of that group is and what the experience has been for people who’ve been part of it for a while.
Recently, Risk Management was added under that umbrella, but there hasn’t been any clear explanation why. Of course, we’ve heard the usual “happy” messages like: “lucky us,” “everything will stay the same,” “everything will be alright”, but it doesn’t really seem that way.
If anyone has insight into what’s going on or how this group operates internally, I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective.
Curious to hear from interns about their experiences this summer. Don't be too specific or give any identifying information.
In the last several rounds, most of the people let go were in their 50s and 60s. The most experienced people. How is this allowed?
I've been trying to find something new for months. I've got plenty of experience, but I can't get a single interview. Is age really that big of a factor? I'm 54.
Have you completely moved off the mainframe to the cloud?
If so, how are you loving Cloudfare?!
Don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel.
Experience any outages???
The UK 🇬🇧 is looking like it’s going in the right direction. Share how KD affected your life at bp both the positive and the negative.
That's the post. What do u think?
How come at the end of 2025 we all got a thank you note saying that we did better than ever and how much they appreciate us, then few month go by and they just sp-t on us? They're reaaaally trying to lose all valued and experienced employees. Is common sense in the room with us?
Does anyone have experience or knowledge of others who have retired in the current calelander year and still recieved thier bonus the following year? Documentation says it's the process, but......?
What has been your experience with Delta Dental of Virginia?
I’m currently pregnant and was recently laid off. I was wondering if anyone here has been in a similar situation and tried negotiating their severance package. Just trying to understand if companies are generally open to reasonable discussions, especially around healthcare coverage or severance duration.
In April, my PDS review was great. The meeting went well, and my manager even asked me to join him for lunch. He told me I had a great year. Two weeks later, they had the ranking meeting in May, and after that I noticed he was avoiding me in the aisles, around the kitchen area… everywhere.
For the PA communication meeting, he sent me an email saying he had come down with a cold and would be WFH. Then, on a zoom call, he told me I was in the PIP category and read some HR formalities. I was shocked. And then he said the infamous sentence: “It shouldn’t be a surprise to you…”
After two weeks, I told him I would do the PIP — and how stupid I was not picking up the clues that the real result was my termination, even before writing the PIP document.
Anyway, the whole three months he tried so hard to hide from me and barely communicated. He documented things like “he came at 9 AM and left at 3 PM,” “he was chatting loudly in the neighborhood area disturbing others,” “he worked from home more than 5 days in the last 4 weeks”… such a pity.
I finished every single thing in the document, and I even started some initiative ideas for a project. But I was out by end of 90 days.
I know we are the lowest in the IT hierarchy but maybe there are people working as L1/L2 and would like to share experience? Because honestly it is my first user-facing job where users are the LEAST of the problems lol!

Hi everyone,
I’m a former employee of Nike and I’m trying to obtain a more detailed experience letter. So far, I’ve only received a basic employment verification that includes my start date, end date, and job title.
For my current needs, I require a letter that also outlines my roles and responsibilities (job duties) during my time there.
Has anyone here successfully requested a detailed experience or reference letter from Nike after leaving the company? If so, could you share the process, the right contact/team to reach out to, or any tips on how to make this request effective?
Any guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I work in PA, joined Honeywell as an experienced hire. Band 4. There are so many great colleagues here. And yet somehow there’s also this overarching toxicity. How can both exist and how do the long timers overcome it personally?
What does NRE mean for experienced hires? Especially if they joined mid-career or late career? What does YEE need to be for a person to be NRE?
I'm so done with this Company, I'm in a position they won't layoff but am so done with all the new management stupid decisions, It didn't work 20 years ago, didn't work 10 years ago, didn't work 5 years ago, but hey I'm a new guy and I think it will work. Yeah just give me a package hire someone with less experience than our management team and feed them the slop.
my position is being eliminated (long story and it will not affect others). i am thinking about keeping cobra and wanted to see if anyone had experience with it. gracias...
What are some of the signs you are going to get laid off? Is it a complete surprise? Just curious of experiences. I already feel it coming, workload is dwindling.
I've spent the last few weeks catching up with ex MS colleagues (a few who also has the same experience in the past)...
Anyone have any experience with how long it’s taking to receive severance payment? I submitted mine electronically March 9th.
