I just submitted my claim and curious if it will get approved - wondering what others experiences have been!

In Georgia the claim will be allowed but funds wont be paid out until after your weeks of severance run out. Example: if your severance covers 20 weeks, Georgia Unemployment will wait until week 21 to begin paying (contingent you are still certifying weekly on their site and proving you are doing your part to find employment)
@db none us are choosing to be unemployed. We were led to believe that taking the VSP would be in our best interest. Yes we were given a choice to back out but none of us our safe, maybe extended but in the long run most of us will be gone!
If concerned your state may try to fight it, possibly consider hiring an unemployment attorney who will be way more versed in the artful speech and way of wording things to get approved. Unemployment attorneys know the same doublespeak that the corporation attorneys do. And what the unemployment office needs to hear.
It is kind of like one of those situations where someone broke into your home and you defended yourself. You have to know exactly what to say, which an attorney will know and can advise.
@db I disagree. I suggest still applying for unemployment and if you can do it in person at an unemployment office and explain to a human being that you signed VSP because you were forced into an un-winnable situation and were just looking to survive.
The unemployment office person will know how to enter things in the computer. The company may, and I do say may, try to fight it. But that just means a meeting with, an unemployment person, and a Centene HR person. It most likely will end in your favor. Unemployment offices tend to hate these large corporations and tend to be more favorable to newly unemployed persons.
I even suggest persons who quit or were fired to apply for unemployment as well. Hope this helps someone.
Why would someone file for unemployment when they chose to be unemployed? Those who selected VSP chose to resign. Unemployment is for people who lose their jobs because of layoffs or company-initiated RIFs, i.e., not for someone who VSP'D. TWC will let you submit it but will most likely deny the claim.

@OP I'm in TX. My VSP exit date isn't until 11/2027. I'm still curious, though. Keep us updated!
@b1 there are states that will pay unemployment. Check with your states website maybe it can help. Or just apply shoot worst case they say no. Even a VSP
Waiting to get my severance then will apply.
@b1 reason is layoffs! we took the VSP, yes, but because there were layoffs looming
@OP, I don’t live in TX, I took the VSP, and wasn’t aware one could apply for unemployment. If you don’t mind me asking, what is the reason you used?
@OP yes in Texas will be approved according to my lawyer.
