One of the most difficult things about layoff days is hoping its one of your team members and not you. Some of us like the people on our team and wanting one of them to be impacted instead of yourself is a special kind of he-l. It feels selfish and awful but you know it will be so much worse if you are the one to get the call. Then you have survivors guilt.

Layoffs Happening In My Group
Wasn't just rumors for the group I'm in. Teams is full of people sharing what time their calendar invite that just came in is for with HR + some leader. Everyone promising to give each other recommendations if needed, posting personal emails and phone numbers just in case, etc.
Don't know the count yet. Waiting to see if/what time my meeting will be. Bad vibes for sure.
The rumors weren't wrong for everyone.
Quiet layoffs
UBS has been quietly laying off people starting Mar-2026. Rumor is that another big list is coming in later may and june 2026.
Case Management
Any word on if Case Mgmet will be impacted?
Can we please be honest here and let us know if it's actually happening today?
I saw tons of writing on the wall the past two weeks that made me think I'm going, but the post from someone saying they made the whole thing up has me second guessing myself now.
If you're impacted, please let us know. And if you're trolling, this is people's livelihood. Please, not today...

I finally got my lump sum after 9 months of fighting.
I was told by alight that I canceled my retirement last year when I was piped out. I took the pil in july or august last year. I was NRE but knew I was doomed so I left on my own. I got 3 months pay and left asap. I was classified as a terminee because I wasn't 55. I had to wait 90 days to get my lump sum. I turned in the paper work and waited. I got no notification about my status from alight so I called. They said I had canceled my retirement and the lump sum option was not available any more. I filled an appeal and it took a few weeks to get it approved. I faxed and mailed my paperwork to alight. I called and alight rejected my forms because of ilegible dates by the notary. You have to have a notary sign and stamp the spousal consent. Ok round three and I send off the paperwork again. This time alight rejected it because the notary seal was distorted. Now the final attempt and I thought alight was just trying to tire me out so I would just choose the annuity. I meticulously signed the forms and made sure the notary did the same. I hand delivered the paperwork to the woodlands office of alight and turned them into some one at the front desk. The main problem is that it takes several weeks for alight to process the forms and their website is terrible. It says processing for the longest time and then at once says rejected. Once rejected you have to start the process all over waiting for them to mail new paper work. Another stupid thing was all my correspondence was going to my work email which I had no access to. Finally I got my approval and my check. I actually got a few more thousand dollars because my retirement was postponed by a few months. It was a real pain in th a ss kind of like exxon forms and approvals.

Not sure what to expect
not sure what to expect tomorrow but getting ready for anything:-
- i am eliminated

reply to this post to keep track
Please, I beg of you God, cut all the 1999-2000 dot-com bo-m hires tomorrow.
These people keep getting spared every layoff and they're the ones at the water cooler, long overdue for retirement. They are good at showing up on time in a crisply ironed shirt with a positive attitude, much like the old IBMers. But as far as carrying the load when half the team gets axed (strictly according to their manager's own specific preferences and prejudices), the work output won't scale accordingly. They have one speed. The speed of every telephone company. Because every telephone company is comprised of them.
How many laid off in recent round?
Looks like they’ve done it again… kicking hard working people out :(
Are you finding new roles?
Has anyone who was let go in February had success in finding new work? If so, do you have any pointers or resources you found useful?
Trying not to get discouraged but it’s feeling impossible in this market
Good luck to everyone tomorrow
At the very least, let's hope this round doesn't drag out.
Any clue as to what the target number is?
I'm so sorry for everyone already affected, especially those who badly needed to keep the job.
Friendly reminder: whatever happens, none of this is your fault
Don't doubt yourself. And never let any corporation make you question your professional worth or what you've achieved.
Am I alone?
Anyone else hope they get laid off at this point? Everything su-ks here!
Jeff Clarke
this MF landed a package on the backs of Dell employees. He should be fired
Unemployment/severance
I was impacted from the last layoffs, never been on unemployment before, how do you file, do you file and add severance package and PTO or do you not include that info reading online you don’t have to add that info in. I know it would not kick in till the 2 month being on the payroll .
Does Manager need to be in the office?
Does the manager need to be in the off ice when they setup zoom calls with their team members to let them go? Was this covered in the training this AM?
Any layoff talk on the trading floors?
Are you all hearing anything about layoffs on the trading floor? I hope all the girls with the nice feet don’t get cut.
A telling anecdote
When recently getting told I would likely be laid off later this year, I conveyed to my manager that I was smiling and happy. They told me the last time they had to give that speech the person was elated as well.
Speaks volumes about the work culture Charlie Scharf has created.
UHG requiring personal email
Sorry but to me it feels like this emergency test is also to make sure we have a personal email so when they lay us off they can just send the documents or communication there. I went in and there is no way to remove it. Maybe I’m extremely paranoid but hey that would be this organizations fault to begin with.
And.... I'm back
I've heard there will be 1% layoffs with most groups exempt
Anyone hear any different ?
Upcoming layoffs
Anyone know if there are layoffs coming ?

From Terminated to Self-Made: My New Beginning
I got terminated from my job after 7 years. It wasn’t easy to accept especially knowing I was one of the top earners on my team. Last year my performance slipped, and looking back, I could feel something was off. I started to realize I was being pushed out.
But here’s the thing sometimes what feels like a setback is actually a reset.
At the start of this year, I shifted my focus fully into the stock market. I had been learning and investing for almost 6 years, but never gave it 100%. Now I am and I genuinely love it. For the first time, I feel like I’m building something for myself, not just working for someone else.
I’m also starting to move into rental properties, creating another path for income and independence. I don’t know exactly where this road will lead, but I know I’m no longer standing still.
I’m sharing this because conversations like these helped me prepare mentally. If you still have a job, stay sharp and keep growing. If you feel like something isn’t right at work, don’t ignore it prepare yourself. Build skills, save money, create options.
Don’t wait until you’re forced to move -move before that.
Sometimes you don’t realize your strength until you’re pushed into the unknown.
Good luck to everyone on their journey.

Muhlenberg College Faces Layoffs Amid $10 Million Deficit
Muhlenberg College faces job losses due to a $10 million budget deficit. The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) confirmed the impending layoffs. AAUP noted faculty typically receive a year's notice, unlike staff. Historically, staff were given hours to vacate offices and escorted off campus. The union advocates for 90 days' notice, salary, and benefits for all laid-off staff.
