A more accurate opening would've been: “This is a masterpiece of ineptitude.” In fact, what makes this post truly exquisite is your apparent belief that you’ve discovered something new. Like a vacant toddler who just discovered their own diaper.

The tactics you so breathlessly revealed were no secret to many of us. The difference is that we possess the basic adult restraint to keep quiet about HOW intelligence is gathered while only sharing the critical bits that might actually be helpful to others.

Sadly, while you were busy playing around with your new toy Copilot, many are scrambling just to exist in their current position, and many others are currently suffering the stark absence of a paycheck. I can only imagine that the members of HR and the ELT may well be contemplating even more RIFs as they stare at your post with the same profoundly awkward pity that one feels when watching a bird repeatedly fly into a glass door.

Please, I beg you, just step away from the keyboard the next time you’re compelled to draft another friendly PSA—for all of us.

@OP I agree with another poster and also call BS - why bother writing down step by step how to find things and then brag but not share a dam thing - what was the point - who is the troll now? Bragging how "smart" you are and slick but then when someone says ok you found "secrets" which you likely saved and you won't say more than that.

@OP Prime example of why AI by all companies has been rolled out with few safeguards just to satisfy board members. Board members don’t want to hear about the risks when they have a shiny new toy to deploy to the minions.

Tempting, but I'll pass. I have my complaints about the org, but not enough to fall for some sort of ELT gotcha.

@a6 they can certainly try but that assumes a lot of sophistication within a tech org that is 80% contract staff. And even then, the liability of the potential headline "ELV fires employees after spying on use of Copilot" is not something the company can spin positively, no matter how hard they might try. And execs would have to concede that they made a whoopsie in data loss prevention and all that - not great for share price.

I wonder if HR/IT will now be monitoring for associates who take these steps, so they have a better understanding of which ones post to this site?
