I just wonder how the executives in the health insurance industry sleep at night? When your day consists of:
“How can we turn a bigger profit from the tax money that’s supposed to go to the poor starving sick people?”

Isn’t it ironic that a health insurance corporation fails to provide the best health insurance coverage for its employees?
Found this gem in one of the older threads and I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. This is 100% correct. We're supposed to have the best coverage considering where we work and we're so far away from it that it's a joke.
Keeping Dell medical insurance is a great option, but cobra is very expensive. So many suggestions and options out there. If you went with another option, please share.

I need this job. I have a chronic disease and I can't afford being without either income or medical. Having to worry about more layoffs every single day has been only making me feel worse. It's not humane to expect us to deal with so much stress all the time. Is there even a small chance we'll go back to occasional layoffs instead of this constant threat of cuts any time soon?

So i got a letter today regarding cobra election. The monthly amount from optum does not reflect what i am currently you paying at all. If about four times the amount. What should i do??
The NSI’s and PIPoffs in EMGL are the worst I’ve ever seen. Even in the crown-jewel of upstream they’re accelerating massively. It’s not just the HC10 employees getting chopped either, it’s the locals too which is a really bad look.
Everything is so lean right now that everyone is expecting a break or crash just around the corner. The people who proudly cut the budget for 2026 and were excited to tell us they were going to run so lean well find the breaking point have been promoted to other places. The rest of us are holding the bag and getting blamed. I would say it’s typical corporate America, but it’s past that at this point, it’s negligence and we all hope it doesn’t lead to a health, safety, or environmental catastrophe.

Penobscot Community Health Care is closing its Adult Wellness Center in Bangor. The organization is also eliminating sixteen administrative positions. These changes are a result of financial challenges. Rising costs and reimbursement issues are impacting the nonprofit. The health center serves approximately 50,000 Mainers.

It doesn't sound like they contribute 80/20 or 70/30 that some of the better performing companies do. I haven't used DXC's plan bcoz my spouse has a good one but was wondering if I had to use what would my cost vs DXC's be; I'm definitely saving DXC some money there right now.

In huddle this week, our PL said our debt SHOULD be safe. Anybody else in UM for Medicare hear the same? She briefly brushed past it so it didn’t seem super confident. Not sure if I should be happy or maybe we’re just safe FOR NOW. 😭

Why does nobody address the condition of the offices and the health hazards they may impose. Conditions are extremely unsanitary, and I believe as an organization we can do better…how do we gain some momentum in this regard as going into the office is required, but there is no care around, cleaning areas, and air quality is very questionable. Where do we start so we can improve?

I plan to just go in 12 days and let it be. It’s freaking 95 degrees where I am at and now the air quality is bad, way too dangerous to suffer in extreme heat and hazardous air just so I can sit by myself and talk to my co workers on team.

I would have thought that air quality being in the hazardous range would have been justification to work from home but I reckon not.
