I’ve been a part of Citi since 2018 and it felt like a completely different world back then. Maybe Mike Corbat wasn’t the best CEO and the organization struggled a lot back then, but at least it felt like working in a normal, non-abusive and non-toxic environment. We might have resolved the reg consent orders, but at a cost of sacrificing the human capital. Shame.

Just like last September and March. September is always a little subdued. This September 14/15th saw around 5,000 total let go. March 2027 is going to be another big round like last year. Expect people to be put on PIPs before the layoff. Expect more AI tools being pushed onto the development process.

Oracle is experiencing record quarters, just like us. They are laying off folk. We are making people miserable enough to quit.

I was so happy when I joined Oracle five years ago, thinking I've found my long term career. Today was a brutal reminder how untrue that was and how temporary that security really was. I'm now jobless and disillusioned - not a good combination.

Each team had budget (no surprise) but also a RSU reduction as a metric!

I keep seeing post about October layoffs but no one is saying what department is in jeopardy? Do we not know? I’m just wondering if this time if it will be claims, benefits, Behavior Health, Evicore??? I know IT has already been hit pretty hard this year but wondering who’s department is next

The moment you spend everyday worrying about a layoff is your personal red flag to get out of that position/team or out of this company.
I am so glad I moved on.

HR sent an email out to people whose DFS job code doesn’t match a CapOne job code. Basically saying we need to apply to open reqs since our roles will be eliminated before the end of the DFS integration in Q2. It’s crazy because I’ve been working on the CapOne side for almost a year and they won’t just convert me. Another tactic they are using to get people to leave so they don’t have to pay severance.

I noticed that a few people had slack accounts deactivated this morning.

For those who received the ISP. Has anyone gotten the letter? I have only received the email for returning the equipment.

How high will it go? I sold most of my CVX years ago. I still have a good chunk but def not one of those all CVX EE’s. I’m mid career and already looking for the off rap. Building that 401k and pension till the next lay off. I’ve gotten nearly 20 years and this is a totally different company. Just going to take my job the best I can and ride it out as long as I can as well.

I told my manager to put me on the list and here I am laid off. It’s time for a new start and I couldn’t be happier. They did sc--w us a bit on health coverage, it’s done in 3 days.
