AI provided the following:

AT&T is expected to release its official workforce surplus notices on Friday, June 12, 2026, with internal communication and final numbers rolling out through early next week.
Current Notification Timeline Reports from internal managers and ongoing employee discussions indicate the following schedule for this wave of the strategic cost-cutting initiative:
June 12, 2026 (Afternoon): Initial surplus lists and calls are scheduled to be released. Legal and HR will finalize employee rankings based on performance metrics.
June 15, 2026: Under standing Communications Workers of America (CWA) contract terms, third-quarter surplus and layoff declarations traditionally lock in on this date.
June 16, 2026: The first formal wave of notifications is expected to officially launch.
July 1, 2026: Impacted employees are projected to be off the company payroll.
Expected ImpactThis specific reduction is rumored to focus heavily on management, aiming for an estimated 5% reduction in Level 1 Management headcount.
The structural shift is largely driven by ongoing corporate consolidation, real estate footprint downscaling, and operational moves toward regional hubs like Plano, Texas.
Severance and Next Steps: If you are affected by this surplus wave, the standard AT&T severance formula generally offers 1 to 2 weeks of pay per year of service. Represented employees will follow specific union-negotiated severance and placement provisions.

Absolute lack of respect

I can't believe something like that is happening in freaking 2026. They don't even try to pretend they care anymore, they're just playing A RECORDED VIDEO with announcement basically saying "fu-k you all". Don't we at least deserve a stupid standard teams call with any possibility to speak up?????? #GSCPL

Update your LinkedIn to open to work

Sorry to those impacted today. Notifications have gone out and will continue throughout the morning. I recommend updating your LinkedIn profile to “Open to Work,” as recruiters may reach out given awareness of today’s layoffs. If you choose to engage, please ensure they are from a reputable company.

Invites

invites go out today/tonight in the US. Unless you already had a scheduled 1:1 this week with your notifying manager, in which case they should have moved your 1:1 to tomorrow, and you will be notified then.

So danger zone if:
You get a 15-30 minute invite for a 1:1 with your manager or your skip for early tomorrow local time.
You had a 1:1 with your manager this week and they moved it to Thursday with no explanation.
Your skip level (or their boss) schedules a team-wide call (your entire team and possibly your manager is impacted)

Americas notifications are to be wrapped up by COB Thursday. If you don’t hear anything by Thursday COB you are likely safe.

OP is @a7+1krhpzg3b, bumping it for great info.

how are you getting notified?

we got an invite for a group call with the director. half of my team (90/200) is in the call. we are all lower grades and hr is also there. i thought they would at least have the decency of firing us 1:1 and not in a group call. has anyone else had a group call scheduled or only 1:1?

WARN -- New York - I only got 30 days????????

The New York State Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires employers with 50 or more full-time employees to provide at least 90 days of advance notice before mass layoffs, plant closings, or business relocations. This law, which is stricter than the federal WARN Act, ensures employees have time to find new jobs or seek training
