My stomach was doing backflips the whole time, even though I know walking away is the right call. Sometimes quitting feels even harder than staying in a miserable job, but I can already feel the weight lifting. Goodbye PepsiCo, I truly wish I’d never known you.

Is it too late in the year for more layoffs?
I'm not sure how it works here, but my old company usually had two major layoffs per year, and it'd all be done by November. Can somebody please tell me how it works here? I've been here for six months, so I'm still trying to figure stuff out. Thanks in advance.
Pending layoffs?
Hi,
I'm a reporter for The Register. I've heard from a source about a round of layoffs expected this week. If anyone can confirm this confidentially, please feel free to get in touch: tclaburn (at) theregister (dot) com
Signal: ThomasClaburn.49
It won't be as bad as everyone’s expecting
If there’s one thing we do best, it’s working ourselves into a frenzy before we even know what’s really happening. That’s just human nature. But I honestly think this time it won’t be nearly as bad as we’re imagining. Dan doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who’d storm in with a hatchet and start swinging (or at least that’s what I’m choosing to believe until proven different).
Layoffs 11/03
Approx 15% company being laid off
Seattle-area vaccine company Inventprise laying off 76 employees
The layoffs impact employees across the company’s Redmond and Woodinville facilities, as well as some remote workers. The first separations are effective Dec. 31.
Job titles affected span a wide range of roles, including manufacturing, quality control, R&D, and technical staff, according to the filing.
The company has nearly 200 employees, according to LinkedIn.

End of Year Layoffs?
Any word on if, when and where?
Your experience/education is of no value here!!!
Your experience and education are of no value here. All you are is an employee ID# and a salary on someone's spread sheet.
When mgt feels they can hire someone cheaper you get laid off. It is just about dollars.
Any chance of another layoff this year?
I'd like to volunteer, but I don't want to risk it if we're done for now. The last thing I need is to be PIPed and kicked out without anything because I put a target on my back for no reason.
Layoffs almost never happen on a Monday
It'll happen Tuesday or Wednesday, if it's going to happen at all.
Use the rest of the year to look for a new job
Now that we know there'll be no more layoffs this year, use this small window of calm wisely. Take advantage of the time when you're not stressed or uncertain to search for something better, because everyone knows this isn't really over. The workforce will keep shrinking, and it's only a matter of when, not if, most of us will be cut.
Layoffs are not the worst option
We lost nearly half of our team in the last round. Do you think our workload decreased? Nope. We were told to make it work, to take on every leftover task as if we were suddenly twice the size, with no extra pay or support in sight. I am now praying to be among those affected whenever we have cuts again.
Almost over, failing pip and ready to go at 50. They got me five years away from retirement.
Ok the pip plan was to improve me so me could stay supposedly. At my pip meeting last week I was told I was failing and I could take the PIL for one month that is left. I asked if I worked real hard and tried could I pass. I was told there was no way I could recover and pass. All my coworkers have distanced themselves from me and I am an outcast. My end date is at the end of November so I guess this is the end. There reasons for me not passing were insignificant and meaningless. My manager is a coward and only told me I was failing at the end. I told them I thought pip was supposed to help you improve and stay. I am being forced out and isolated. The manager told me why would you want to stay where are not wanted or liked. They want me to quit and sign a separation resignation letter. I told them no. I am ready to go and will start looking for a new job in 2026. It is evil the way the piped me at 50 years of age so I cannot get my retirement. I believe I can get my lump sum but it is heavily discounted.I was 5 years away from retirement but now have to look for a new job. Be careful they are heavily targeting 50 year olds. I and another 51 year old are being forced out this year. My pip was impossible to pass.
Hey V-Teamers, share the questions you asked Perplexity before Sunday dinner
I asked Perplexity how do I explain to my children they are not going to college because I was laid off from Verizon? Thanks for the suggestion Dan!!
"Remind your child the situation is not their fault and that you are proud of them, regardless of where they go to college. Stay supportive and keep future conversations open as feelings and circumstances evolve.
Acknowledge that disappointment is natural but that together you can navigate these changes and seek alternatives. This approach will help your child feel seen and supported, and make it easier to tackle practical next steps."
Finally Posting - New Directive
I’ve resisted posting on here, but I feel the need to. I’m in a Management position, but not giving specifics out of fear. My Leader gave me a directive on Friday to prepare for the big Q1 WFR list. Here it is. We have to try to avoid cutting H1B people because we uprooted their lives to move them here, so we can’t leave them stranded. So I guess they feel it’s OK to uproot talented Americans’ lives instead of getting rid of cheap, inferior workers. Total BS!
The DM wrecked!
Tech affected and DM majorly wrecked. Nasty times. Be safe.
Those laid off…
…what’s your plan now? Are you taking some time or are you jumping into a job search? What are you doing with your free time?
Honeywell deserves a lawsuit
More mass layoffs right before holidays

Quitting in a call center role
If someone works as a call center rep, and plans to leave. Is there any legal repercussion for quitting in the middle of a team meeting with immediate notice? This person would never make the mistake of working for another securities firm again.
The quitting would involve letters written in crayon for professionalism for the entire team, a short speech that encourages others to leave before they waste any more of their lives underpaid by the firm working for yahoo manager that "fight the patriarchy", emails timed for the meeting to be sent to the manager, managers manager, and HR (to ensure the manager cannot lie about the details of leaving), and an immediate turning in of their equipment.
Is there any way for the firm to fine a customer service specialist for this? Also has anyone heard of the firm closing personal accounts of reps in retaliation for leaving the firm?
Looking for feedback from any other brave souls who have left the pit of mediocre Johnsonville, or anyone who has seen others leave suddenly. Much appreciated. Losing the remainder of a paycheck would not bother this person, markets pay well enough to offset that. The bonus is also not big enough to matter. Giving 2 weeks notice is far more courtesy than this black hole deserves.
This person likes the idea of emailing a resignation to the entire firm. But it's too much work to manually make those email lists so...nevermind that.
Next round of layoffs December 3

Tech Layoff Scope
With yesterday's announcement of the T&D reorg there were a lot of people laid off, but it's hard to know the scope since they don't announce anything anymore. What's everyone hearing? I know of four tech VPs that were let go, and it sounds like a bunch of SDs/ADs/Mgrs as well, and I know of at least a handful of individual contributor from one specific area.
Execs say they didn’t know names, but they did
Someone in my dept had a planned retirement date in September that for some unknown reason was extended. We even had a retirement party for them two weeks ago.
Then on layoff day, we received a farewell email from them and they began their email with how they were “one of the ones impacted”
I don’t believe for a second that our VP didn’t know. I think they had them extend their retirement so as to have them counted in layoff and therefore save a headcount vs. lose one more additional person.
In one sense I appreciate that but in another, it means they knew names and they knew this was coming for much longer than they let on.
Accenture & TCS
They are coming in.
We will train them.
We will take the package.
We will leave.
They will stay.

Honeywell layoffs
Just heard many people at Honeywell in Charlotte were let go.
I’m still gathering details.
Thanks-RIFing

Do not expect severance packages to be as generous as before.
No self-assessment for those who are getting laid off
Why would Verizon waste time and resources asking employees to add their accomplishments if they’re getting rid of them? The portal is opening around November 24th. Whoever got the email might be safe — but who knows
Layoff Advice
As we get closer to showtime, what are some smart things to do if your name ends up getting called?
This can be tax stuff, general networking, etc.
Based on what I have seen on this site plus common sense, here is what I have gathered.
- Wait to sign your offer so that you are paid in 2026.
- Don’t go out screaming and burning bridges, you never know if you will end up back here.
- Apply for state unemployment ASAP after you are fired.
- Make sure all of your personal files are off your computer.
- Don’t bother packing up unless you have really valuable stuff. Let the company deal with it.

Layoff News for 2025/2026
Anyone heard any news of planned layoffs for the rest of this year or next year?
Doesn’t UHG typically follow Optum with layoffs?
It seems that, in the past, either UHC or Optum has a big RIF and then the other company follows 2 weeks later. The Optum RIF yesterday was pretty significant so wondering why I’m not hearing anything about UHC (thankfully). But I’m still thinking that this is the trend and wondering what comes (if anything) in 2 weeks. Seems all is quiet. Too quiet…
Layoff Details
- The news is going out Monday.
- Approx 400 employees will be let go across the org.
- No specific business lines targeted. Enterprise wide.
- Primarily people in management roles will be let go.

Does Fiserv Have Enough Money.....
To pay me severance????
Layoffs delayed till Christmas
A few comments on earlier posts mentioned that some of you spoke to the Works Council and the news is that P25 layoffs are delayed till Christmas. Can you share more?
It would be devastating for many if they find out at Christmas that they’re out of a job.
Severance
The severance policy is you are eligible for severance after 1 year of service completed. The formula is the greater of 12 weeks OR 1 week for each year of service + 4 weeks with a maximum of 26 weeks. So basically if you have between 1 and 8 years of service you get 12 weeks then add 1 week for each additional year. This is for Directors and below. VP's get 26 weeks, SVP's get 39 weeks (I believe) both after 1 year of service. But the majority of folks impacted are Directors and below I would think. This policy hasn't changed in the past decade maybe been in place longer.

Any word on the street regarding layoffs for 2026?
Has anyone heard any rumor or gist from leadership or a manager regarding if there will be any layoffs planned for 2026?
