APLA and CS

Does anyone have any more information on this?

The last I heard was the following;

APLA will transition to APAC, Latin America will join North America and CS will transition to a new role called VP, Global Geo Ops, which will be all about tying together the geos for consistency with a focus on brand and product. They will report directly to AM.

Time to move on

Maybe it is time to find another job, I recommend it for many to save your mental health and not be stuck in a layoff.

Remember you’re the one who dressed up for the interview. You’re the one who said you wanted this opportunity. You accepted the offer, and you keep showing up every day. So maybe—just maybe—“they” aren’t the problem. At some point, you have to stop pointing fingers and start owning the choices that put you here. If you don’t like where you are, change it. But pretending this is someone else’s fault isn’t going to fix anything.

Considering leaving technology

Been giving it serious thought, as I have been job searching and finding little movement or activity from applying, agency recruiters, etc. It might be due to now in Q4 and "circle back season", but I wonder if I should use this time to explore other options and going back to school part-time.

Anyone else thinking about this?


Change was inevitable — and it's finally here

Investors had grown frustrated with Mark Barrenechea's ego-driven acquisitions that bloated OpenText, diluted focus, and buried the company in debt. His exit was overdue, and the board's failure to act sooner led to a loss of investor confidence. With new directors stepping in, the reset has finally begun.

Since the leadership change, the stock has rebounded roughly 13% and investor sentiment has shifted from scepticism to cautious optimism. The message is clear — the market believes a turnaround is possible.

The next CEO will have a mandate to streamline the portfolio, divest non-strategic businesses, and rebuild discipline. Expect a leaner structure, renewed focus on innovation and profitability, and tighter execution. AI-driven efficiency will help reduce costs, while those unwilling to adapt — or who feel entitled to a job rather than earning it — will be replaced.

OpenText's best days could still be ahead — smaller, sharper, and stronger than before.


Nothing changes

After all the feedback, the Speak ups, the expressions of discontent- nothing changes. The CPO, VP of Operations and snakey HRBP (we all know who …k.a.) — still there. What a shame. AMN used to be a company that cared about its employees but those three have spread their greed and power tripping attitudes and toxicity wide and far. No longer am I proud to work at AMN. I’m disgusted and am biding my time until I can leave them high and dry. I have no desire to be associated with those three and am ashamed to even be a part of the HR team. I don’t know what more can be said before any action is taken. Probably take a lawsuit…. Well, be ready because that’s coming.


There are better workplaces

I left Wells Fargo, and now that I’m at another bank, I can really see how weird things were there. No constant process changes, people aren’t as burned out, and managers actually care. If you’re feeling drained, maybe look around a bit before you start thinking that’s just how it has to be.

Ford taps former GM global product lead in leadership change-up

Ford Motor Co. on Friday said it has added a former General Motors Co. executive to lead its product development, among a number of other executive changes.

Jim Baumbick, vice president of advanced product development, cycle planning and program, will lead the strategic direction of Ford Europe as its president starting Nov. 1. Replacing him on Oct. 13 is Sam Basile, GM's former vice president of global product programs.

Additionally, Bryce Currie, vice president of manufacturing for the Americas, takes on an expanded role covering global manufacturing and safety as chief manufacturing officer. Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue and Model e, also will add luxury brand Lincoln's global retail business to his responsibilities, though Lincoln President Joaquin Nuño-Whelan will continue in his role and report to Frick.

Disruption has been a consistent factor for the automotive industry as of late. A fire at an aluminum plant in New York has rattled the supply chain, especially at Ford, which uses the metal to make the bodies of its best-selling F-Series pickups. U.S. tariffs continue to create uncertainty. The Trump administration's rollback on what the president considered an "EV mandate" could halve electric vehicle sales. Ford is in the midst of a restructuring in Europe as it focuses on its commercial business there.

"These global leadership appointments," Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a statement, "underscore our relentless commitment to building a truly world-class team across Ford, united by a singular focus: delivering product excellence and quality for our customers globally."

Basile last worked at GM in 2023 and since has been in private consulting, according to his LinkedIn. He collected three decades of experience at GM, including globally in China, South Korea and Europe. He'll report to Ford Chief Operating Officer Kumar Galhotra. Baumbick in Europe will work with leaders in the region, oversee product development for that market and and drive cost savings. He'll report to Vice Chair John Lawler.

Ford also shared the retirements of Chuck Gray, vice president of vehicle hardware engineering, and Darren Palmer, vice president of EV programs.

Gray, who contributed to Ford's industrial system, retires Dec. 1. Charles Po-n, director of electrified propulsion engineering, will succeed him, making the transition starting Nov. 1. He'll report to Galhotra.

Palmer was a founding member of Team Edison, which has evolved into the Model e EV division and launched Ford's all-electric models: the Mustang Mach-E SUV, F-150 Lightning pickup and E-Transit commercial van. His retirement takes effect Nov. 1.


How long before we can expect to start seeing changes?

I'm sure the new CEO will want to put his stamp on things as soon as possible, but I doubt he'll want to rock the boat too much from the get go. I'd like to see him start cleaning house on day one but I realize that's too much to expect. But I also hope he doesn't wait for too long.


Feedback used to matter

These days, I swear telling someone your thoughts is like yelling into a canyon. Nothing happens, nothing ever changes, even if it's something that could help significantly speed up things. There's no point in trying anymore. It’s easier to nod and move on than to waste energy trying to fix anything.


Something wicked this way comes

One of our core values is 'Embrace Change '. And you will be penalized if you don't. Any concerns voiced about the negative impact of some changes get you referred to HR for a talking to about teamwork.

It does not seem like they are as concerned about being a great place to work for all as they are about putting on a show about it. A real shame as they used to be great.

ISR, Catalyst Router, 8000 Series Cisco Secure Router, Tetration, Cisco Secure Workload, AMP, Cisco Secure Endpoint, Cisco Smart Switch, WCS, Prime, DNA Center, Catalyst Center….DCNM, NDFC and whatever great ideas are next — Impact, GSX….

For the love of G-d people!!! Quit renaming EVERYTHING EVERY TWO YEARS!! No wonder Gartner and everybody else is so D@mn confused at our strategy!!

Pick a name and stick with it! Use actual NAMES! A PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS NOT A NAME! Tetration was easy to remember and had a nice ring to it. Cisco Secure Workload is a description! Not a name. Everything becomes acronyms when you name products long descriptions.

Cisco Marketing has multiple personality disorder! Straighten it out now Chuck you big lug!


benefits changes

I'm really frustrated to learn that Truist will be cutting its $500 deductible and co-pay medical insurance plans in 2026. From now on, they'll only offer high deductible plans with no co-pay option. It feels like they keep stripping away employee benefits with each passing year. What’s going on?


Already losing faith in the H1B Visa Plan

They told us on video this was 100k per year for all the H1B Visa holders, or all 600K. Now its a 1 time fee of 100K for 3 years, its only for non us grads so like only 60K out of the 80K new H1B Visa's. Talk about a walk back, that's like only 1/10th of the original stated headcount. What a let down.
