Please help enlighten.

Vacation accrual caps being reduced?

Sharing from the UHG link on thelayoff
I see it’s lit over here lol!
Someone posted this on the UHG link for the layoff. Did anyone know about this?
https://www.thelayoff.com/post/@OP+1ktq0j4m3
Basically they are saying UHG-Optum-UHC utilizes forced arbitration which is generally deemed not good for consumers or employees. When did they start doing this? Apparently most large companies do this but several like Google, Uber, Airbnb and others have stopped doing it.
Forced/Mandatory/Compulsory Arbitration
UHG uses forced arbitration. If you don't know what it is and how it impacts the public, consumers, employees, etc. Look it up! Here is a link you can start with, but there's a lot of information on it out there. Stay informed and know your rights. Also check your State Laws, as certain States have counters to the use of it. Knowledge is Power.

Expeditors International Cuts Tech Jobs, Ends No-Layoff Policy
Expeditors International recently cut approximately 230 technology-related jobs. These layoffs primarily impacted employees across multiple offices in Washington state. Affected roles included software developers, quality-assurance testers, and project managers. This action marks the end of the company's long-standing tradition of not laying off employees. The company confirmed these cuts as a workplace restructuring in a state WARN Act filing.

In seat
How long do you have to be in seat before you can apply out ?
Can you start applying earlier than 12 months ans is manager notified?
A Friendly Note From ELT
Now that we’re all back in the office four days a week, we’ve started noticing something interesting: there are a whole lot of headphones out there.
And listen, I get it. Sometimes you need to focus. Sometimes Teams is lighting up like a Christmas tree, your inbox is acting like it has a personal grudge, and you just need to put your head down and get through it. We are not trying to outlaw concentration, peace, or the occasional musical escape from reality.
But if everybody has headphones on all day, we may have accidentally recreated remote work, except now we added fluorescent lights, badge access, and a commute.
The goal of being in the office together is to make it easier to collaborate. That means quick questions, hallway conversations, shared problem-solving, and those little “hold on, I know who can help with that” moments that save everyone from three meetings and a mystery spreadsheet.
So in the spirit of encouraging more cross-team collaboration, USB headphones issued for Teams calls will need to be returned at the front desk. Going forward, Teams calls taken in the office will be expected to use speakerphone whenever possible. This helps keep conversations open, accessible, and aligned with the collaborative environment we are trying to build.
We want to make sure we’re using our in-office time to actually connect with the folks around us, not just sit near each other while everyone broadcasts “do not disturb” from the ears up.
So let’s keep an ear open, say hello to the people around us, and make the office feel a little less like a silent library and a little more like a team.
Internal Job
Does anyone know what happens if you apply for a job internally before the 1 year mark? Are managers only notified if you are selected?
No rehiring per new policy
“At this time the company decision is that we are currently unable to rehire any employees that were impacted by the RIF. This could change in the future as we continue to review policy. If so, we will most certainly reach back out.”
Former manager and adjacent manager gave good feedback to HR. Hiring manager was going to make an offer and at the last minute this came through.
USAA
USAA just return 1 billion to its policyholders in Florida. Does State Farm have the ba--s to do the same in more states?
Hybrid Policy
Any news on the hybrid policy and potential changes to it? I’ve heard rumors, but they swirl all the time. I feel like it was this time last year they made some significant changes.
With costs continuing to rise, all associates who weren’t lucky enough to be allowed to continue to work from home for one reason or another (seems like the rules change depending on who you are) are suffering.
As an associate who was hired to work from home, I am trying to wrap my mind around what the company is trying to accomplish. I do not see a whole lot of collaborating going on in the office - in fact most associates are sitting in cubicles on top of each other, all on different calls.
Severance payout
The severance money is paid with condition that you will not write anything against company on social media. The moment company finds out, will stop your biweekly payout.
New attendance policy at target warehouses
Was wondering is target changing there attendance policy system
CHANGE THE RETIREMENT POLICY
Allow employees to retire earlier penalty free. No exit package necessary.
Bring back auto emailing of pay information
Such a step backwards to no longer offer automatic email copies of our paychecks. Why in the world would this functionality be removed?
Cisco Off Ramp LOA
Do we need to get manager’s approval for the Off Ramp LOA? Any restrictions or limitations that we need to know of (other than that it is unpaid)?
Nike devices policy after resignation - can we buy them

Smoke/Vape Free Campuses Coming Soon?
Been hearing rumors from upper management that the company is moving towards having to smoke and vape free properties throughout. Can anyone confirm?
City seeks civil service rule changes for layoffs
Methuen police leadership seeks a civil service law exemption. This change would base demotions on time in rank. Current civil service rules consider total employment time. The City Council gave initial approval to this proposal. State legislature adoption is still required for the change.

ER Page is being removed
I don’t know what happened to phases 2 & 3, but the ER page says it’s being removed from JonesLink 6/3 and refers viewers to a Separation Hub which only addresses the VSP/ISP stuff.
Will be get severance even if we get employed elsewhere
I heard contradicting statements on whether we will continue to get severance even if we join else where.
Equipment return
What does fidelity care about and not care about as far as giving back equipment? I’m hoping I can keep the monitors, docking station and webcam but obviously won’t steal them. According to the fid central site if equipment is older than they like we can keep it but it doesn’t specify. Anyone know?
Buying PTO
Is buying PTO a real thing? Can you do in middle of year if you are new ?
Latest WPE Rumors
I hear from multiple sources an announcement will be made end of May, effective after Labor Day. Four days a week in the office if you have an assigned seat. You will have to attest to compliance with the policy. Three non-consecutive days in the office if you reserve your space. True? I guess time will tell. Just passing along some rumors hoping to compare notes with what others are hearing.
Agent Changes
A company that has long said “agents are the core of our business model “ just made significant changes to their contracts. We will see how that dichotomy plays out over the next few years.
Where can I find info on severance?
I just want to see if they made any changes since the last round.
Dr-g Testing Policy
Sounds like management is going to start up dr-g testing everyone again to find out who’s using, since all their sellers EOI’d
99% of people on this board
Dont understand "severance"
Its not a gift.
Its called "Severance and release" for a reason. to get it, you need to sign and agreement not to sue and non-disclosure
Maybe someone can upload the pdf, although that violates the NDA lol.
It is technically negotiable, but very few people do.
It is not really severance. its mostly just release (for which you are paid).
Use PTO before May 28th
Just a reminder to use your floating holiday and consider using some PTO if you have a large balance saved up. Most states only pay out up to 40 hours of unused PTO. If you receive a RIF notice on 5/28, you could lose most of your remaining PTO balance.
What equipment do we return upon resignation?
What equipment do we return upon resignation? I assume just laptop and charger, but if there are other things, please let me know.
Benefits docs
As we all know, WFH people were put into a separate bonus pool this year.
Where is the updated benefits document about bonuses that clearly reflect this policy change?
Come on MC, show your bias!
Dress code
Has anyone noticed the updates to our dress code? I’m curious if HBAs will be required to comply???
Excessive R&As???
What’s with the ethics alert about excessive R&As. Why bother slapping the wrist of teams using budgeted amounts?
If my team is awesome, who cares if I give them all of my $500..
what a waste of time
How much will they really use RTO to clear out the ranks?
It's been an attrition tool everywhere else, first and foremost. But people are hanging on to their jobs. The market is brutal, so they're meeting all the RTO demands. I wonder how this will actually play out here.
Relocation to Dallas
I am supposed to report to the Dallas HQ in October this year. Is it okay to move schools starting October 1 or is it recommended to move before schools start by August 1? I wanted to buy time for obvious reasons.
