Where I work the L and D “leaders”at HQ messed up our operations training so badly that Operations had to take operations training back from HQ. Now the training is almost as good as it was prior to 2023.
This is just one example of how Malformation has been a total flop.

Hello, I'm currently on parental leave and will be returning to office in SLC (operations role) on August 3rd. It sounds like there are layoffs set to occur the day I return. Now, this isn't something I would normally even consider - but my grandmother did in fact pass away while on leave, so I could technically apply for bereavement leave for the day of layoffs (yes I know this won't save me forever, but hey, why not get an extra two weeks of pay).

1. I don't know for sure if I will be one of the ones cut on August 4th, but I know I have ~1 year at most due to the location strategy.

2. Yes, I can in fact provide proof of my grandmother's passing as I am a direct inheritor of her (very small) estate.

Just curious to see what everyone thinks about this idea.

We sold a significant amount of doors to the agents... The good news is, those employees will have a job. I’m told we’re keeping a thousand corporate doors and that my team and I are safe for at least 3 years, do we trust that? Looks like operations took a significant hit, who is going to do that work?

Overall, I feel lucky, but feel awful for anyone who is impacted.

A significant fire at its Grand Rapids warehouse has forced Notions Marketing to cancel all orders and lay off approximately 200 employees. The accidental blaze, believed to be caused by an internal electrical failure following a power surge, has rendered the main facility unusable. Operations were crippled, with significant inventory also contaminated by smoke. The company stated there is no clear timeline for resuming safe operations at the damaged site. This permanent mass layoff affects a substantial portion of their workforce.

So Lending Operations for USBank USA is moving to USBank India.
part of many layoff in the future as USBank India has capacity for 40,000 employees.

Also of note was the reason why we are now USBank India is because we are global corporation and we work with people-le across the world

I’m hearing that across the US. Many midsized customers will go warehouse in October. What’s the word out there?

FanDuel recently laid off several hundred employees. This move impacts a few hundred people from its 5,000 total workforce. The company stated these changes strengthen its long-term strategy. Affected departments include business development, operations, and engineering. These layoffs follow previous workforce reductions and industry trends.

Pretty clear that there is no need for Project Managers anymore, and that they are rapidly phased out, together with the Portfolio Manager level of directors.

Feels like the operations side will be on the front burner, with focus on finding areas that can be made more efficient (i.e., layoffs).

I don’t understand why we own ships and have such a large maritime presence/teams? Seems like a ripe area for ENGINE or simply rent ships from someone else. I can’t imagine we operate ships less expensive than the open market!

UPS closed the midnight shift at its 43rd Street hub in Manhattan. This action is part of the company's "Network of the Future" restructuring drive. Marketing, quality, operations, VPs, and the contracts teams have all been affected. Positions have been consolidated, and some work has been outsourced overseas. It’s still ongoing, and word around the office is that sales could be next.

Disney executives discussed potential future workforce changes. CEO Josh D’Amaro and CFO Hugh Johnston spoke on an earnings call. The company aims to build a "culture of efficiency." They plan to shift expenses towards content and technology. Disney is also exploring AI to improve operations and guest experience.

Huge operation center quietly getting set up in the Philippines. Layoffs every 2 months through 2027. Poland to have massive layoffs. Berwyn Pennsylvania getting gutted. India given increased role they can’t handle. Senior Management denies all and plays d-mb with the mid level managers. Mangers in London, Germany, and Singapore making all the decisions now. This is no longer an American company. Offshore, offshore, offshore. AI, AI, AI - which has proven to be a failure so far. PA is a particular mess, with virtually no competent leaders left. No leaders of people, just senior managers who have no idea of what actually occurs in their own office and couldn’t identify half the people they see on the way to the bathroom. 12-14 hour days are the norm and expected. Run far, far away from this company, unless you are filipino. Then you have a future. Or maybe if you want to do client service. They’ll need to hire more there to explain to all the clients why Rome is burning and the service has become dogshit. Side note, they’ll do a terrible job explaining because they have no idea what is going on. just mouthpieces…. My advice, get out now, especially if you are in the US or Poland. The founders of SS are rolling in their graves at what Uncle Ron and Clair Williams have done to the place.

VR game developer Survios has reportedly laid off much of its staff. Employee LinkedIn posts indicate the studio's operations may effectively halt. One designer stated Survios would be "essentially shuttered." The company recently expanded beyond VR to PC and consoles. Survios has not yet publicly commented on the situation.

Moody's downgraded Conduent to B3, which is the equivalent of junk status. Too much debt - and now difficult to fund its operations given the high borrowing costs. New CEO Harsha Agadi not making any progress.

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) announced layoffs. A WARN Notice was filed for 211 Phoenix employees. This follows the sale of RNDC's Arizona operations. Reyes Beverage Group acquired these operations in March. The notice provides 60 days advance warning for affected workers.

Been reflecting on this lately and wanted to share. The new PMP Process has been a real game changer for how we get work done. Its simplified so many steps that used to drag on forever with all the old layers and approvals. Now things feel cleaner, priorities are clearer, and we’re actually delivering results quicker without losing the important checks.

What I like most is how it lines up well with the We Lead behaviors. Leaders give clear direction, teams stay aligned, and everyone still has a voice in the key decisions. Cross functional handoffs are smoother, less back and forth, and projects that used to stall are moving forward. In my area we just closed out a couple deliverables ahead of schedule that wouldve taken weeks longer before.

Chevrons new approach here feels spot on. Its helping build that operational resilience and shared purpose while keeping us focused on what really matters. Makes the culture feel stronger and honestly one of the reasons Im optimistic about staying long term, even with all the changes in the industry.

Anyone else seeing the same benefits from PMP? Especially curious how its playing out in the field or ops side. Are you noticing faster delivery, fewer bottlenecks, or is it landing differently out there?
