Resignation

Resigned but manager ignoring, last day of notice is next week. If he doesn’t acknowledge my resignation in workday and I still don’t get off boarding or any kind of acknowledgment of resignation or instructions , can I just walk my laptop to tech express and give badge to security last day? This is ridiculous behavior for a company that “loves attrition”, make it, make sense!!

AT&T CFO Pascal Desroches to step down, McAfee exec named as replacement.

AT&T’s (T) chief financial officer, Pascal Desroches, has submitted his resignation to the company effective December 31, 2026, in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Concurrent with the announcement of Desroches resignation, AT&T (T) said it has hired former McAfee CFO Jennifer Biry as his replacement.
In the interim beginning July 6, Biry will serve as Deputy CFO and will assume the role of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on January 1, 2027.
Desroches, who has been CFO since April 2021, submitted his resignation to the company on June 11.
The news of Desrochers impending exit jolted AT&T (T) shares, sending the stock nearly 3% lower in after-hours trading.

Voluntary Resignation

Now that Uniondale is gone and we're all forced to commute to NYC, who here has been through a voluntary resignation? I'm curious what the process will be. Bc, I'm not voluntarily resigning. You're moving my office. You're forcing me out due to my own personal reasons why I cannot commute to NYC.

Wondering how resignations are handled

I’ve worked here a little over two years and have seen a few people leave, but none of them mentioned getting a better offer to stay. At past jobs, managers sometimes tried to match pay or move people into a different role. I’m not sure if that’s something this place does. Has anyone seen it happen, or is notice usually just accepted?

Would I be making a mistake if I left now?

I joined just four months ago but I hate it already. I got lucky and another company just offered me a role that pays a little less but is much closer to what I actually want and hopefully comes with less toxicity. I am grateful for the option, but I am wondering how much it'll be an issue for my resume in the future to leave a job after such a short time.

The one thing they can't take from you

They can take your time, your energy, and your sanity if you let them. But they can't take your dignity unless you hand it over. When you leave, whether it's your own choice or not, walk out with your head high. Don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you defeated. This place was an American icon once, and arrogance tore it down, but that doesn't mean you have to leave in pieces.

Should I quit?

I'd like to hear if there is anyone here quit their job at Cisco to start a growing midsize company. I am thinking about it, because I find Cisco culture toxic and highly receptive. I have never worked in such a large company before and I have never felt this unmotivated in my job.

Any post-Cisco experiences? Hopefully in the lighter side

LR and outside jobs

I have a question for any recently laid off Cisco employees regarding taking a position within the first sixty days after notification. I’m hearing rumors that if you accept a position outside of Cisco within the sixty day window that it’s classified as resignation and the severance package is forfeited. Is this true? Nothing I’m reading within the paperwork I’m expected to sign seems that that is the case, but I’m just checking with those who have been through this process before.

The new manager is the final straw

I have put up with being underpaid and overworked for years because I am used to it. But my new manager has crossed a line. I refuse to be yelled at and bullied every single day by someone who only got his job because he knows how to flatter the right people. I am too old for this nonsense. I don't have anything lined up, but I'm going to give my notice next time he gets into my face.

""I posted here already like a year ago asking for suggestions on which company to choose.

Well, I chose WF only because of the salary and it's fairly convenient since I’m just one shuttle ride away. I didn’t expect the situation here to be like this. The micromanagement is intense. At first, I was only getting sick once a month, but now it’s every week because of the stress. I really thought I could handle it, but my body says otherwise.

Honestly, it feels like my salary didn’t even increase because I’m absent so much. (It’s unpaid now because I’m always sick). I’ll just force myself to endure it until next year, and then I’m going to resign. :((

My LOB (Line of Business) is EDB. 😭"

Reluctantly updating my resume

I've been avoiding this for months. I told myself things would get better, that I could wait it out. But after the last round of reorgs happened and the latest gossip about more cuts, I've accepted that I need to leave. I really didn't want to go through the interview process again. It's exhausting and demoralizing. But I feel like I have no choice anymore. I can't stay somewhere that makes me this unhappy.

Been looking for a way out

I have been looking for a way out and VZ finally gave it to me. I spent a little over 10 years here, thinking that I could be successful. That was a delusion.
While I am not happy that it was on their terms and not mine, I do have a positive spin. My daughter told me I am going to be a grandpa.
I have some hobbies that I can now pursue as employment, as I am pretty handy and did construction before this. Not that I want to do the backbreaking stuff again but I will do what I need to.
To all those I worked with that are still with VZ, and to those that have left for good or nefarious reasons, just know we can all do better than what the VZ culture has become.
Today is Mother's Day. I will spend time with my family.
Tomorrow I will start the process to get my contractor license and everything else needed to be a handyman. Then I will start promoting myself. 50 is not bad to start over.

What I won't miss

I'm leaving, and I can tell you right away I won't miss the endless approvals, the ancient systems that break daily, or watching my coworkers lose their minds. I was hired to build new things and spent four years keeping old junk running. This place broke me.

Anyone Tracking Resignations?

Some folks said the resignations are already starting to show on LinkedIn. One was confirmed yesterday, but I didn’t see who it was since it was on someone’s phone.

Does anyone have a list or a post of those who have resigned, or has anyone seen news of an official resignation? We should keep a tally. Let the good times roll. Glad these folks are not going down with the ship!

Resigning

2 questions related to resignation:

  1. When someone gives 2 weeks' notice, does ELV typically have them work the 2 weeks or do they let people go immediately?
  2. If ELV ends employment before the 2 weeks is up, do they pay through the notice period?
