I see lots of jobs open so why are they not trying to move people who are on the RIF list to these spots? Yes, some require specialized degrees, such as nurses, but many of them don't. In 90% of these jobs, people can be trained to do them. Why would they let experience walk out the door? People who've been here for years could easily transition. Looks like there are about 88k employees at Fidelity and only about 800 job openings. According to AI stats available online, a company that has over 80k employees should have between 1,600 to 4,000 open positions at any given time. I'm an employee under BTS. We've had a bunch of people take the VSP. Wendy left (so curious what happened there). A VP Katie took the VSP. My question is: I've interviewed for an apartment manager gig. I would hate the job with a passion. I get a discount on rent (potentially free rent in the future but they haven't confirmed). I would get way less pay, less holidays off, less pto. My thing is I love what I do and I'm even helping a new department who is already struggling with less employees now. I'm a new Centene employee (came over from another company's layoff). My question, does anyone have any insight for the chance of layoffs? I would hate to turn down a job just to be let go here but I would also hate my life if I took that job.

I work in the Quality Department at Centene in Florida. Have you guys heard anything about what’s going on with the Quality team? Our Senior Director is stepping down, and I’ve noticed a lot of changes lately, especially with our metrics.

We’re now expected to abstract 50 charts a day because upper management wants to see higher production numbers. I honestly feel like a robot. I’ve been working past my scheduled hours without getting paid just to keep up with the workload. I didn’t sign the VSP, but I’m starting to think about leaving if I continue getting fails and having to work past 5 PM just to meet expectations.

The frustrating part is that I’m meeting productivity and I’m actually one of the top producers on my team, but my accuracy has been dropping because of all the changes and the pressure to rush through charts. It feels like no one really cares about the quality of the work anymore as long as the numbers are there.

We also have around 30 people from QI leaving, and none of us really know what other changes are coming. At this point, I’m feeling drained. I’ve never felt this way working at Centene before.

If my manager tells me I need to bring my accuracy up, I’m going to be pi---d. How can you tell me to improve my accuracy while also dumping a huge number of charts on me that require careful review, but expecting me to rush through them just to hit a number?

Is this a reasonable reason to start looking for another job? I don’t know if I’m overreacting, but this has become exhausting.

How bad does one have to be at their job to get fired? If someone is getting their stuff done, generally in line with expectations but that someone doesn’t really fit in with the popular crowd, could they get fired.
