CVS stock

Does anyone have a line into investor relations or corporate communications who can tell us honestly why the stock is down $20 in the past two months. I know DJ and BN stumbled on the last earnings call giving the 2027 forecast, but there's no reason I can see why the stock is in free fall. Any wisdom that you have?

This Wednesday (September 16)

Based on conversations I’ve had internally, the comments on Reddit and this forum, and the Q2 earnings call (severance funds), it does appear that this Wednesday will have impacts across the entire bank.

What should we look out for? When would meetings get scheduled? Tuesday night? Wednesday morning?

Imagine working at a place where earnings calls are a good thing

I really hope everyone is able to leave this toxic af company. Can you imagine working somewhere where earnings calls are a place to celebrate the value the company has delivered? Every earnings call here, the more numb I’ve become to wondering when the next LR will hit.

Stock Buybacks — at it again, I see

Looks like Humana executives are at it again with their artificially inflating the stock market with their stock buybacks.

I wonder if actual investors are that easily fooled with this utter nonsense. Seems like you would have to be rather naive if you didn’t first research what was presented in yesterday’s Q2 Earnings call in regards to the announced exiting of many Medicare plans, which will effect some 600k members and only 40% of them possibly might get recouped under other larger plans. Doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.

Earnings Call?

Should we even listen in to this? With everything that has been changed and twisted the last six weeks I doubt they’ll paint a true picture of what’s happening. I find it interesting the forecast was so off but yet this go around they know exactly how many of us to offer VSP and ISP. I have no faith in this leadership any longer.

Enrique can no longer be hiding...

No word from Enrique since restructuring and layoffs were announced. No word from him when Stripe made their ridiculous offer. Time is up. Earnings call is tomorrow, our CEO can no longer be hiding. Hopefully he was too busy working on a big plan to turnaround the company and will take everyone by surprise... Or maybe not...

Wall Street analysts

Saw a meeting on my calendar for the 2Q results this Friday. I am pretty sure it said that it was with "Wall Street analysts". I don't think I've ever seen that on any other results all hands call before. I wonder if they are real Wall Street analysts or just paid stooges that are going to say the future is bright and getting booted off the Dow after 22 years means nothing.

I feel like things like this are a red flag like the time in 2024 when they spoke about transparency for almost the entire all hands call.

It was just by chance that Verizon had just lost a class action lawsuit for not being transparent so they had to prove that they at least knew how to say the word.

Earnings Call: Passing the Baton

Bill drew an analogy to a 4x4 relay race in this morning’s earnings call.

“I feel really good about the baton passing. Think about the 4x100 relay. We’re passing the baton to someone that can run the last lap(?!?!) with a lot of speed.”

Is this him saying that Mike is going to fast track us to being acquired?

Layoff risk at after the May 2026 earnings call

Information from the extensive deep research:

My base case is that a broad, post-earnings layoff announcement is unlikely, but selective reductions, tighter hiring controls, or reallocation out of slower-growth teams remain plausible. On the evidence available before the May call, I estimate the probability of any publicly visible layoff action within roughly 90 days after the call at 25%–40% (medium), with the probability of a broad company-wide program above 3% of headcount at 10%–20% (low). Confidence is medium, because the company’s operating trend is clearly improving, but it has also shown that it will still prune selectively even during periods of rising revenue

Investor Day 2026 - Hold or Short?

Obviously, I am not asking for binding financial advice, just curious, do you guys think there will be any stock market movement on this big Investor Day and if so, do we think it'll be up or down? Earnings calls are already regularly terrible and I'm not sure what an "investor day" would do differently since people already see through the smoke and mirrors of those.
