Who decides the training catalog?

What an inordinate amount of training. There's 1-2 literally due every week. Sometimes it's 6-7 per month. In Dec alone, I have done 6 so far. No one learns anything like this. Some id--t somewhere is checking the boxes, and the entire firm is going along with it. What is this show for? Regulators? I've been at other banks. No one has such a busy training schedule

Field Reps! How’s it going?

So I’ve been gone a year now as a field rep and when I left SMP had just rolled out. I remember having to adapt to the new hybrid position but was curious how much has changed since then. I do know reps had to take on quite a few more homes and wasn’t sure how the field was going to get everything done. Is management at least offering overtime and scheds/flags/some faults done remotely to help keep down the hours? Hope all of the field reps are doing well, a good life-work balance and aren’t overly stressed. Best wishes to you all! Thank you.

How bad does Oracle s*ck?

I mean does it s*ck really bad?

Or does it s*ck really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, bad??

Is anyone actually willing to relocate?

Relocation is insanely costly these days, and the chances of keeping your job after uprooting yourself and your family are extremely low. It’s just another attrition tactic. Refusing to relocate plays into leadership’s hands, but going along with it is even more senseless.

Raise without promotion?

I've worked and pushed extra hard for my in-seat promotion all year, after years on team and at same low C-level trying to get my AVP which I see as finally earning your stripes within Citi.

I've done pretty well with raises the past couple years and pretty sure I've got to be maxing out my salary in the undisclosed 'salary band(s)'. Been getting signals that it's looking pretty positive for this new year also, but no sign or mention of promo.

Is it possible to be earning within the next band without the badge?

Agile Flex

Can anyone explain the current status of this? It is still stated as a working arrangement, but have people on it had to move to 4 days?

Also, if you were on agile flex but a people manager, do you have to do 4 days or is agile flex still an option?

2 job offers - Dell vs another company… US

I have been trying to decide which job offer to accept and have been using this forum to try and understand salary structure and promotion opportunity. From what I can see, it seems like once you accept a job at Dell you are stuck with minimal pay increases unless you apply for a different internal role. Is that correct?

  • Am I best off pushing hard for my starting salary since it won’t change much?
  • Does the salary I’m offered impact colleagues yearly bonuses and pay increase?

  • Additionally, is there any other important information around salary I should know?

Is Schwab actually checking attendance? Will they ever?

Started at Schwab a while ago.

I have noticed that less than 50% of the people show up on a given day where I work. Many clock in at 9:30 or later, and are gone by 3:00, plus take a looong lunch break.

I am puzzled. Will the 4 day RTO really matter? Most people are not even showing up 3 days a week now, and nothing seems to happen

Curious for your thoughts

I'm just wondering what everyone is thinking lately. Survey results feel extremely vague. Holiday gifts felt thrown together last minute. Lost the Amazon stipend. No explanation for anything, they just keep taking away but the messaging is how great we're doing. Jeff Decker retiring. Jill Marmo retiring. I've heard several positions are open due to people leaving and they aren't backfillng. Stock price is underwater. Feels like a sinking ship and I don't know how long I can hold on.

I’m sure some consultancy will dig us out of this mess

Right? I mean, who needs people proven in the field, skilled veterans, and invested employees with real passion for the product or the brand, when you can bring in random outsiders who just hopped over from entirely different companies, industries, and set of issues to tell you what to do and how to do it. This whole obsession with clueless consultants will remain a mystery to me until the day I die. And it’s not like they’re cheap, either.
