Curious for your thoughts

I'm just wondering what everyone is thinking lately. Survey results feel extremely vague. Holiday gifts felt thrown together last minute. Lost the Amazon stipend. No explanation for anything, they just keep taking away but the messaging is how great we're doing. Jeff Decker retiring. Jill Marmo retiring. I've heard several positions are open due to people leaving and they aren't backfillng. Stock price is underwater. Feels like a sinking ship and I don't know how long I can hold on.

I’m sure some consultancy will dig us out of this mess

Right? I mean, who needs people proven in the field, skilled veterans, and invested employees with real passion for the product or the brand, when you can bring in random outsiders who just hopped over from entirely different companies, industries, and set of issues to tell you what to do and how to do it. This whole obsession with clueless consultants will remain a mystery to me until the day I die. And it’s not like they’re cheap, either.

How can an organization be this disorganized?

Remote employee- I requested my return package for my laptop and concession device the Monday after Thanksgiving- I just got an email today saying that 'they've approved my ticket, but there is currently a backlog due to a large number of requests with our vendor.' Then HR tells me that it could 'potentially' impact my severance payout if they don't receive it in time as I'll be gone until the 5th to visit family. Then this morning, we finally get some notification about Dan's 20 million dollar 'retraining' fund that he's been bragging about, and they still kick the can down the road saying that we'll get more details in the coming weeks. How can they layoff 13,000 people and not have prepared for this? Anyone else having these kind of issues?

What’s next for Apache?

Time for leadership shakeup just like at bp. JC and crew need an extended break from value destruction.

Repsol has received very unflattering about Apache and its fiscal woes. So there goes the brilliant idea of shifting abandonment liability and a spin off

Spending on Fire - no one watching or cares??

There are many, many fun and frolicky events taking place and planned for January and February, sponsored by senior leaders, who have zero concern about spending money. Pretend meetings with special team building events costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Can the Board know? Company is crying poor mouth and yet leaders seem to have no concern dropping company money on ski chalets and wine tasting.

Indiana Pathways layoff non RN/MSW?

Anyone know if they will layoff non RN MSW coordinators? They hired many bachelors level social workers and other specialities under old guidelines… merged the care coordinator and service coordinator role and said those non RN MSW were grandfathered in…. Now whispers of laying those off? Not sure with the so many transfers from other insurances to UHC and merging Medicare Medicaid how they could function…. But anything can happen!

Am I the only person who's actually mostly happy at Dell?

I have my complaints for sure but like, overall I have an amazing thing going for me. I have a great job that I genuinely enjoy but, realize I'm being paid less than market value. I have a fantastic team that I get along with very well and we are all "friends." Up until the stupid managerial "reorg" this last year, my manager has been one of the best I've ever had - new "manager" is basically MIA 99.999% of the time so I know very little about him.

Some of you may laugh at this but I do feel I have fairly good job security because I am on the FED side and I'd tell you what it is but, we are so tiny that I'd be immidiately known if anybody reads this...I am in a job position in which is quite.... sensitive to say the least.

I love working in FED because we are a tight nit department and everyone gets to know everyone on a more personable level. That's great for ppl like me but terrible for some people lol.

My complaints are the RTO, the random af managerial "reorg" and pure lack of promotions for the last 5 years. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy overall.

Understanding Digital Activity Tracking and Employee Expectations

Digital activity has become a hot topic with leadership lately. We’re being told that if you don’t show consistent online activity, you could be flagged as “inactive,” which honestly has people worried about job security.

I’m trying to understand how this actually works in real life. We use the restroom, take lunch, attend meetings, step away to think, or work offline at times. Does that count against us? Are we really expected to show nonstop keystrokes for 8 hours straight?

Is anyone familiar with how this digital activity or logging process is tracked? Would appreciate insight from anyone who’s dealt with this or knows how it’s supposed to work.

Last Stop...Etria?

Xerox demise used to be compared to Kodak. Now more like iRobot. Is the iRobot putt one xerox can even read? Would Etria even find xerox valuable enough for the paperwork?
