Not sure of any advance notice posted on this site but it is definitely happening now. Just heard from 3 employees directly impacted in his org. There already aren’t enough people to do the work as it is.

No reprieve from layoffs
Layoffs to stand following $1.1B AI acquisition
Activist investors have taken a $2 billion stake in Workday, signaling approval of its direction and saying they "look forward to continued collaboration with the company."

Still no layoffs on our side?
It sounds almost too good to be true.
There'll be more
Expect even more layoffs down the line. That’s Thoma Bravo’s modus operandi: lay off people, wait a bit, then cut even more, rinse, and repeat. It’s all about money now. If they can get you to do the work of three people for the pay of one, they will. And if you leave, they win again because they didn’t have to pay severance. I know. I’ve been through a Thoma Bravo acquisition.
I was laid off, but here is some advice for anyone who is staying in their job.
Yes, I was laid off, and I was in shock, especially since I had a good performance review and my metrics were always strong. I cared about my job and my customers, but after three years, I realized the following negative points. The only positive aspect was my coworkers; everything else was disappointing.
- Don’t get comfortable. I did, and I never expected this layoff, but no one owes you anything.
- Upskill. I started this process five months ago, and the job market is brutal. If I had stayed at Oracle for ten years, it would have been almost impossible to re-enter the market.
Understand that layoffs are not over. They will continue next year. Don’t be a fool; have a plan, save your income, upskill, and be ready to move on!
There’s no pay raise. Why would you want to work at a place that doesn’t offer raises?
- It’s pointless to work on weekends when you might get let go anyway. I did that, and it was a mistake.
I'm actually glad this happened after three years rather than after 28 years.
I have Oracle on my resume, which is the only positive. However, I would never recommend Oracle as a place to work.
More layoffs now a certainty
We're cutting capacity down by 25 percent, and they already announced that'll be accompanied by significant cuts. I don't think anybody's safe right now. I just hope they get it over with quickly, so we don't have to wait, wonder, and stress over it for weeks or even longer.
Drai’s to eliminate 351 jobs

This job is crushing me
I can’t handle this place anymore. Being so anxious I need meds just to make it through a shift shouldn’t be normal, but somehow it is here.
60% of US businesses plan layoffs in 2026
Nearly half of US companies have slowed or frozen hiring in 2025, with 39% already laying off workers and 35% planning more cuts before year-end.
Looking ahead, about 60% of businesses expect layoffs in 2026, citing trade policy, tariffs, economic uncertainty, and AI adoption.
High earners, employees without AI skills, recent hires, entry-level workers, and certain age groups are most at risk.
Almost 30% of companies have already replaced roles with AI in 2025, and 37% expect to do so by 2026.
68% of firms increased AI investment this year, accelerating workforce automation.
Jobs with repetitive or administrative tasks are being automated first, while new opportunities are emerging in AI oversight, compliance, and human-AI collaboration.
Workers who combine digital fluency, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence will remain in highest demand.

Nationwide layoffs are worse than you thin
UBS economists argue layoffs are happening at normal or elevated rates, not unusually low as often described.
Hiring has slowed while layoffs have risen, with unemployment claims at a 4-year high and August layoff announcements up 13% year over year.
If hiring slows further while layoffs continue at current levels, the labor market could contract and raise recession risks.
Official BLS data still shows layoffs near historic lows, but UBS economist Jonathan Pingle said it is not reliable for real-time tracking.
Many economists blame the government's tariff policies for weakening the job market, raising costs, fueling uncertainty, and reducing spending.

Why so many pointless meetings?
Why do we need several meetings to decide something that should take five minutes? It looks suspiciously like people just drag stuff out to make themselves look busy. Meanwhile, I’m doing real work and stressing about layoffs, and they get praised for this nonsense.
Layoff safety for newcomers
Are new employees treated differently, or is it luck of the draw like everyone else?
Trujacodi Delivery Express and CJB Logistics laying off 143 workers
Amazon.com Inc. has ended contracts with two of its Philadelphia-area Delivery Service Partners, resulting in the layoffs of close to 150 workers, according to state filings.

PepsiCo has turned into a straight-up hellhole
It’s no longer a job, it’s survival mode every single day. Layoffs keep rolling in like clockwork and management counts on everyone being too scared to fight back - and they're right! Everybody stays quiet and the bullying and power trips just keep getting worse. I’ve never seen morale this wrecked or people this scared to breathe wrong at work.
Leggett & Platt closing Georgetown Adjustable Bed operation
In a WARN letter, the company said the closure is due to “difficult business conditions” and is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. The facility, located on Sumner Court in Georgetown, is expected to shut down permanently.

Anybody else tired of all the uncertainty?
I’m just so over it. I just want to do my godda-n job and not have to wonder every day what’s coming next.

How can he lie so blatantly?
Five months later, Duolingo hasn’t laid off a single full-time employee, and is instead using artificial intelligence to bolster the productivity of the humans it does employ, co-founder and CEO Luis von Ahn said at the Fast Company Innovation Festival 2025 on Tuesday.

a brilliant move!
execs came up with a brilliant move... let's cut the people with decades of experience, the ones who stopped the place from collapsing every time a vp brought in their latest tedtalk strategy. cause (obviously) performance has nothing to do with institutional knowledge...... it’s all about how fast you can say synergy on a teams call.
genius - really. this isn’t lazy cost cutting at all.
it’s bold visionary leadership that looks at a spreadsheet and thinks.
wow what if we swap a skilled person over 50 with two new hires who need six months of hand holding and a manager on top. now thats pure efficiency. even better, let's call it innovation, or transformation. just don’t dare call it what it actually is.
dumping the people who actually know what they’re doing so the earnings call feels a little less cringe...
I hate the wait
It'd be great to know what's going on. With some people saying it's started and others claiming nothing is happening, I'm starting to get a headache - and I'm not even going to mention my productivity for today. Some clarity from leadership so we actually know what's true would be amazing.

WNIN cuts
WNIN is looking to make some changes to their business model following several budget cuts and staff layoffs. To do that, they are looking to create a task force made up of local business experts.

Broadcom missed a huge opportunity... again!
Rumors have been circulating since last year and there were hints that Broadcom was talking with Intel about acquisition/partnership. Looks like Broadcom missed a huge opportunity as Nvidia is now partnered with Intel instead of them. How will this impact Broadcom going forward as the competition just went nuclear against them? We will see, but Broadcom fails and falls behind yet again... and it looks like more layoffs will be coming in October for all divisions below Hock's line of doom.
Layoffs next month
Has anybody else heard rumors about October layoffs?
How are we supposed to plan a future like this?
Every time you even think about buying a house or starting a family there’s another round of layoffs or news of more outsourcing. I can't plan beyond tomorrow with the way things are right now. I would leave if I could, but jobs are scarce so I'm stuck. How are people with families dealing with this, I have no idea.
89bio acquisition
Does anybody know if the acquisition of 89bio will lead to layoffs on our side? $3.5 billion is a lot of money, and I wouldn’t be surprised if cuts followed to soften the blow. That’s exactly how it worked at my old company, but I haven’t been here long enough to know how it’s handled here. Should I be worried?
RCC France
This morning we were told that the company and the unions will begin negotiations shortly. allowing those who want to leave the company on a voluntary basis to receive at least a good exit package
4,000 will not be just from layoffs
Salesforce is at the front of this shift, with CEO Marc Benioff peddling his “Agentforce” AI tool and recently touting an AI-driven cut of 4,000 “heads” from his customer support ranks. But this didn’t entail a layoff of 4,000 workers, the company said. Inside the San Francisco tech giant, there’s now a growing effort to soften AI’s job replacement blow.

They went too far in the last round
I’m on what’s left of a team (and I use the term very loosely at this point) that used to actually function, and now I’m basically drowning. If we ignore the fact I’ve lost coworkers who were like family, having to cover all their jobs with the few people we have left has all of us considering quitting, even without something else lined up. They expect too much of us.
Wirth Discussing– Together, We Thrive (Mostly Me)
Dear Valued Employees,
As your fearless leader, I wanted to take a moment—between yacht meetings and bonus recalculations—to share my deep appreciation for everything you do to keep this company running while I take credit for it.
This quarter, we achieved record profits thanks to strategic decisions like laying off 20% of the workforce. I know some of you may be “concerned” about job security, but rest assured: my job is very secure.
Now, let’s talk about our exciting Return to Office initiative. While remote work increased productivity, morale, and sanity, we believe that forcing you back into cubicles fosters “collaboration.” What does that mean? We’re not sure. But it sounds good in shareholder meetings.
We’ve installed new badge scanners to track your arrival times, because nothing says trust like surveillance. And don’t worry—we’ve added inspirational posters in the break room to offset the existential dread.
As for me, I’ll continue working remotely from my ski lodge in Aspen. But I’ll be with you in spirit—and in quarterly earnings calls where I say “synergy” a lot.
Let’s keep pushing boundaries, cutting costs, and pretending this is all for innovation.
Warmest regards (from my heated pool),
Mike Wirth
Spill the Beans: ABU / USA Layoff Facts, NOT Winging or Gossip!
ABU & USA Layoff Summary – Waves 1 & 2
ABU Wave 2
• EOI-Only Adjustments: Across ABU teams, Wave 2 changes were minimal < 1% of staff affected, and only through EOI.
USA Wave 2
• Team USA Impact: No specific percentage breakdown per team is publicly confirmed, but no major WARN filings or Layoff.com traffic suggests significant cuts in the U.S.
ABU Wave 1
• ABU FE CVX Staff: Changes were limited to EOIs and performance-based PMP reviews. No broad structural layoffs reported.
• ABU Contractors: Wave 1 ABU FE contractors saw virtually no layoffs, consistent with Chevron’s strategy to retain operational continuity.
• As expected, very limited ABU in execution MCP changes (JIC, CO2 etc.)
• ABU M&R Teams: Wave 1 Confirmed 100% out of scope. No layoffs or restructuring reported for Maintenance & Reliability functions, deferred to Waves 3 & 4 in 2026.
Ref.
Chevron (CVX): Targeting a 15–20% global headcount reduction by end of 2026, up to 9,000 roles. However, only ~200 layoffs confirmed in Midland, Texas for 2025.
Final Takeaways:
ABU layoffs remain highly targeted and minimal, especially in FE and contractor roles.
USA-based Chevron teams have seen limited disruption so far, with no major layoff spikes.
Layoff.com and WARNTracker show low traffic for CVX-related layoffs in the U.S., supporting the notion that most changes are internal and performance-based.
Please don’t post any BS, Winging or Gossip!
Any NEW ABU / USA Layoff FACTS Welcome!
15% in Middle-East to cut
My HR said that it will be huge - despite running well - they have to find money for CAPEX, and all people who are not into sales, will be reduced. All BDMs, pre-sales left. Everything has to be centralised in Centre of Excellence in Egypt. So if you're tech or apps presales you can move to Cairo, or bye.. well.
September layoffs running total
Sep17 6am UTC - Sep18 6am UTC totals: 89 layoffs, 24 additions.
September totals (except Sep01): 4946 layoffs, and 568 additions.
Methodology and day-by-day breakdown is in comments.
EMEA started getting invites and mass layoff process officially kicked off in some locations. However, due to labor laws it will take several weeks before specific people are cut and lose access to Slack, so Slack totals won't reflect it for a long time.
November layoffs
Seattle Children’s Hospital will lay off more than 150 workers this fall, blaming the cuts on the loss of federal funding.
The hospital confirmed Wednesday that 154 employees will be laid off and 350 open positions will be eliminated, effective Nov. 15.

Any Houston layoffs 2025?
Oct Layoffs
I'm hearing rumblings of a new larger layoff coming up next month. Does anyone have any idea of what business segments will be impacted? Joel Osteen aka Rick seems to be channeling his McKinsey lessons from the get go
Greengate madness
Machines are being scrapped or relocated
I walked past A shop inspection today and everything is either scrap or got a red cone on it and not right was looking at another rotor shaking his head
Is there a future for the Mancs and how many will still be working here when the rotor blanks come from China as well as the pin caps, bushes, pins, drive shafts and maybe coupling rods
AI or Die?
Anyone else received the same message? Just been told by my manager if not displaying proficiency by end of year (its mid September already!!) it will be factored into year end and if not using everyday by Q2 I'll be out!
Ill be honest, I don't think I could stomach it. Just pay me off and I'll go work in Target
