I got a job in two months after about 100 applications. I am paid 40% less than I was at Dell.
I feel like I won the lottery.
@e3 To some small extent yes but, at the end of the day there are always jobs to get it's just up to you to get them...
I suppose it depends what your job/career/profession is; along with what skillsets you have... I could get laid off tomorrow - god help me if I do lol - and have a new job before my severance runs out; easily. Cybersecurity has an abundance of jobs so I'm good. I'd imagine if you are in sales however... it'd be quite difficult, though. Because anybody can do sales and it's an oversaturated market that is slowly getting taken over by AI..
@dv Honestly both those professions pay better than what I am getting at Dell......
You can thank our government for that.
ya, like plumbing or electrician.
If you get let go, pay off as much debt, if you have any, as possible. Get whatever job pays the bills for now.... Once you are in that space, skill up, retrain and get something else....
There's somewhere around 7 million job openings in the USA.
what is not happening...that dell is laying off....or you can't get a job.
