We can’t replace these jobs

In October the U.S. saw more layoffs in one month than any month in the last 20 years. Now another 13k, there are no companies hiring we are out of a job and right before the holidays and a massive Great Depression hits. This is so much worse than many think, there won’t be enough jobs out there for all of us. I just lost my insurance, I am fu---d
This is heartless and I was laid off on a fu--ing mistake. I was not bottom 5%, I was a top performer I did not deserve this at fu--ing all. This is bullsh-t. The CEO gets 20 million fu--ing dollars and lays us off before the holidays. Fu-k this company.

Public sentiment about the layoffs: they think what’s happening at Verizon is disgusting

Read the comments. So many posts about how it’s heartless to do a mass layoff right before the holidays … and how this isn’t the right strategy

Anyone let go from Resilience?

It can’t just be me but does anyone see the logic in the random decisions? You know, the decisions to keep really unethical employees/leaders around because of favoritism or pure discrimination but let valuable employees go because they have opinions.

JM’s favorite is trying like heck to show value by trying to take other people’s work because she doesn’t have enough work to actually keep her team busy Remain hopeful that from these layoffs people will finally speak up and expose the truth behind the lies.

VCG Store layoffs not done?

Not sure what’s going on anymore. All the people that officially got impacted were only part timers and a couple of our stores in our market got shutdown/turned to indirect. By any chance, may they resume calls tomorrow or are we safe. I kept hearing rumors of tenure & performance was going to be a factor, but no one that fits the category got impacted atleast yet i also heard rumors that round 2 is coming on q1…. I havent officially got the “youre safe” message from my leaders

Trickle down Layoffs

Let me leave you with a thought today.

We’re being told that in September, the economy added 116,000 jobs. Great. Cool headline. But I want every single person who got cut today or thought you might to remember something:

This is the largest round of job cuts in Verizon’s history, and we’re not alone. Corporations across the country have spent the last month announcing some of their biggest layoffs in years… after receiving massive tax breaks and incentives from 2017 to the “big beautiful bill” . Those cuts came straight out of working people’s pockets with a promise that it would “grow the economy,” “create jobs,” and “trickle down.”

Well, here we are.
The jobs didn’t trickle down.
The layoffs did.

We’re the ones being replaced by AI, consolidated, or “restructured,” while the top climbs higher and the middle gets squeezed until it almost disappears.

So remember this in 2026, in 2028, and beyond when they tell you everything is turning around, when they claim their policies “worked,” when they try to sell us the same story again.

Because if this is what “trickle-down” looks like, all it’s doing is drowning out the middle and forgetting the people who actually keep this country running.

Some info

I’m from Texas and I recently found out that upper leadership is getting with management and Regional Managers trying to figure out what positions are really needed within the clinic nurses and medical assistants, so I know cuts are for sure coming. So they would rather put more work on staff members, then hire another body. In my honest opinion, they are going to get rid of all the seasoned employees that are getting paid more so they can hire new hires and if you do get laid off, they’ll probably make you take the severance package lose all the years under your belt with the company and then re-hire you at zero years. I was unfortunately part of the first round of layoffs a few years ago and that was part of the package if you take the severance package, you lose all the years under your belt.

Verizon once again handled it wrong …VSP’s should have been offered

VSP’s would have been a way to keep quality employees and save money with tenured higher paid reps taking packages. I personally would have taken a package so it could have freed up someone younger who wanted to grow with Verizon. If the VSP process was done there would have been less layoffs to announce and stores inheriting quality reps and managers from the closing locations.

Severance Package details

First of all, i empathize with all my coworkers that were impacted today and wish them my best as they pursue other opportunities .
I survived today but want to know what is the severance package offered this time?
Is it std severance(2 weeks per yr of service and capoed at 35 weeks pay) and same amount of medical coverage upto 35 weeks? TIA!

Dan Schulman is out of his mind...... to secure 59M USD package +20M forHans+ all his friends

To those continuing with us, I appreciate your continued commitment as we build a stronger Verizon together.

Hail, Emperor, those who are about to die salute you"

What do you guys are waiting for ????

VERIZON will close of Operations outside of the USA , the missing 2000 ...... from the 15000.... we just found them !

Bye!

US based Tier 2 tech department just got extremely thinned out. More and more US based employees are being let go. Think about your future because Verizon won’t. If you havnt heard anything by EOD I’d stop stressing as 30 day notice is Dec 19th which is our final date.

$20 million career transition fund

Verizon has not released a specific public list of the exact store locations involved in the single closure or the 179 conversions. The announcement focuses on the aggregate numbers rather than individual addresses. Reports indicate the targeted stores are likely "underperforming" or less profitable locations, but details on which ones remain undisclosed as of today. Employees at affected sites are reportedly being notified directly, and Verizon has established a $20 million career transition fund to support laid-off workers with AI-related reskilling.

Verizon - the land of constant RIFs

I left VZ enterprise a few years ago and I will share this. One thing that was tiresome were the constant RIF's., I started with Verizon back in 2010...they had 164000 employees...just to put that into perspective, the company continues to shrink, continuess to be mismanaged, continues to flounder with no real direction or plan to build the company and make it strong. On the flip side, NTT employs 250K people globally and yes they have their fair share of problems, but they are not shrinking like Verizon is...
