Is the Silence a Sign of Upcoming Layoffs?

For those who are connected with upper-level management, should we expect layoffs soon?

Things feel unusually quiet lately. It’s hard to tell whether it’s just a normal cycle or something else, but the silence feels a bit unsettling.

Not trying to spread rumors...just looking for perspective if anyone has insights.

Posting online about the work I do

To prepare for potential layoffs and job searching , I've been thinking of writing blogs about internal tools I built ( especially with AI ) during my years at Dell that has saved my org millions. Figured it might help build a strong portfolio..

Though how exactly would I write about this without compromising the company? Should I open a request to legal team and send them my drafts?

How to get layed off?

I survived another round of layoffs and am not happy about it. Any tips or tricks for how to get let go? I quiet quit back in 2022 and have been doing less than half the amount of work that I did previously. I am constantly in the bottom 3 on my team performance wise. I just want my famn severance package already!

Is it March 10th?

The ever moving second Tuesday of the month timeline to get rid of associates?

Back in 2024, we survived the axe which happened on second Tuesday of March.

Water cooler chat is also buzzing with Friday the 13th March horror.

As always brokerage and wealth seem to be the ones impacted most.

Layoffs were slow for now but May is going to be a sla-ghter

Layoffs were minimal and fairly non-existent this month which is not normal considering the previous 5 years. YAY! Well, Mavrick is officially rolling out in May and from what I've heard, a LARGE portion of those NDA workers are scheduled to be let go, along with a hefty amount in ISG/CSG and IT as well.

Obviously I don't know for fact here but, one of my sr directors mentioned this the other day in our 1x1 but pointed out that ISG/CSG and a good portion of MAV folks are planned to be let go. In his own words "it's gonna be bad."
