Proprietary don’t do that
https://presentofcoding.substack.com/p/please-switch-to-python
Stata can’t. SAS can’t. SPSS can’t. MATLAB’s answer is “call Python from MATLAB.”
even where these tools have some capability, it requires calling Python, or expensive licenses, or both.
I’ve rarely met anyone who learned Python or R after switching from Stata or SAS and said, “I wish I were still working in those.”
Probably the only way out of this mess is to make FOSS illegal or legally cripple its usage within the country and, if possible, around the globe. There are movements afoot…
Asking the experienced folks
I want to hear from people who've moved around in their career. Have you ever worked anywhere with a more toxic environment than this place? With leadership that cares less about its employees? I'm not being rhetorical. I really want to know. Is this just how all big companies are?
A huge miss by the World Cup team
EH built a huge ticker out front counting down the World Cup and you couldn’t manage to make your shoes different colors than the competitors? It’s literally a sea of pink cleats, impossible to set apart the brands. Nike in a nutshell, who is to blame? Should the color team be accountable? The head of global football? Where is the ticker to determine how many more days we have to watch this embarrassment?
What’s going on in Permian drilling?
Outsider looking in, little odd they’ve had a posting for a position, it disappeared and then less than a week later another is posted. Context being always rumors of a less than stable group over there and some toxic management… had considered applying, but now I’m curious about morale. Anyone know how pay is? Low relative to midland based peers, but still passable?Thoughts?
Layoff dates
Anyone any idea when notifications will go out and who will they come from ?
The rest of the year
I've heard the rest of the year will be bad when it comes to layoffs. We won't see a slowdown but the opposite. Can someone tell me I'm wrong? Please?

App Counts
With our app counts down, MLA negotiations not going well with one carrier, and backfills not happening, has anyone heard of any more layoffs? A small one seems likely to me after the earnings call.
Chief Transformation Officer
Is this a new position? And is “Rajiv” H-1B or legit?

Let's blow that one up.. add your layoff Intel there.
This company is absolutely f&cked
Senior management have absolutely no idea how to run a tech company.
They repeatedly try the only playbook they have, which is to cut costs by laying people off whilst paying consultants millions to do their jobs, which seems to be simply latching on to the latest hot topic and hoping that fixes everything.
Here's an idea, why not try actually investing in the businesses you own rather than trying to bleed them dry.
Anyone else notice the number of good senior people jumping ship recently?
How's future forward working for you Stephanie?
Warren Buffet
People ask me where they should go to work, and I always tell them to go to work for whom they admire the most. It’s crazy to take little in-between jobs just because they look good on your resume. That’s like saving s-x for old age. Do what you love and work for whom you admire the most, and you’ve given yourself the best chance in life you can.
Collaboration with Municipal?
What is this collaboration with the clothing brand, Municipal? I'm failing to understand the strategy behind this.
Layoffs don't fix stock prices
Layoffs don't fix companies or stock prices.
Nike. What a sad mess.
Coming up on 2-year anniversary of the July 2024 layoffs
I’m just reflecting on UKG post July 2024 RIF and the downward spiral that I’ve watched this once unicorn company go through.
- March 2020, Ultimate Software and Kronos merger.
- June 2022, CEO Aron Ain steps down. Enter Chris Todd.
- Fall 2022, Global Delivery introduced.
- July 2024 RIF, over 2,000 employees. Chris Todd removed as CEO. Enter Jennifer Morgan.
- Following July 2024 RIF, major company re-org.
- Global Delivery grows, while positions in the US are quietly being eliminated. Also, when US employees leave, their roles are not backfilled (I had several teammates leave, but not a single role was filled).
- February 2026, RIF.
- April 2026, RIF.
- Current: Bulk hiring for Solutions Consultants in NOIDA / India as “transitioners” (delayed lay off employees) help to train them on their jobs, so they can take over come August 2026.
What did I miss?
What is happening to this once unicorn company?
UKG is in shambles.
Business Update
Hearing some people got 15 minute HR Business updates today? Anyone hearing that?
Major layoffs
Genentech has reportedly eliminated its infectious disease and physiological chemistry units, losing key executives including Vishva Dixit and Man-Wah Tan.

Who is buying Omnissa?
Rumors has it that is is happening very soon... I would put it be end of the year (perhaps sooner). The question is, who would be the buyer?
4 day RTO
When does it take effect?
"We have found ourselves over extended"
Well, AS certainly has the language down already, how to make layoffs sound necessary even if there have to be other ways to cut costs. Well, it was to be expected, I guess. I just wonder how do you bring back a dying console by cutting and not actually trying to improve things.
Sr leaders past and present are dumping the stock
T-Mobile US (TMUS) has seen significant insider selling activity in 2025 and 2026, involving multiple executives and major shareholders, though some trades were pre-arranged or tax-related.
Jon Freier (COO): Sold 4,799 shares at $190.00 per share in May 2026 under a Rule 10b5-1 plan, retaining 217,167.63 shares.
Callie R. Field (President): Sold 12,300 shares for $2.96 million in July 2025, part of a trend of insider selling despite strong financial performance.
Raul Marcelo Claure (Director): Sold 550,000 shares for approximately $119.7 million in February 2026, reducing his stake by roughly 38%.
Telekom AG Deutsche: Sold 209,520 shares in July 2025 and has sold over 3.26 million shares total in the past six months, reflecting a larger trend of divestment by the major shareholder.
Thomas Dannenfeldt: Withheld 311.4 shares in June 2026 for tax obligations upon vesting, which is a non-market transaction.
Mike Katz (President of Marketing, Strategy & Products)
Current Holdings: 181,930 shares (directly owned).
Recent Activity: Katz sold 5,000 shares on May 1, 2026, at a weighted average price of $195.81 per share.
Transaction Value: The sale totaled approximately $979,050.
Status: Despite the sale, Katz retains a significant stake valued at over $35 million, reflecting his long-term tenure and executive position. He had previously sold 2,500 shares in November 2025
Mike Sievert (Director)
Current Holdings: 125,696 shares (directly owned).
Recent Activity: Sievert sold 15,000 shares in late February 2026 (Feb 23–24) at weighted average prices between $220.07 and $221.85.
Transaction Value: The sale generated approximately $3.3 million.
Status: Despite the sale, he remains a significant individual shareholder with a stake valued at over $27 million based on current prices.

Leave Verizon and save yourself ( Mass resignation)
This company is literally thinking it can operate the daily works and tasks much easily without employees. Leadership doesn't care about employees. When there is no value to employees then what is the reason behind working here. Need mass resignation.
Will things start getting better?
This year so far was really hard. The workload, the uncertainty, the layoffs, and all the other changes made sure of that. I keep wondering if the second half of the year could actually be worse. Is that possible? Or have we hit the bottom and things will get better? I truly don't know.
On February 29, 2016 Harmonic acquired Thomson Video Networks.
I'd remove it from here
Open Positions
I see a ton of new positions being posted.
Is this for real?
They keep telling me we are not hiring.
Another reorg?
Who knows. People are anxious. At least people around me. I am more concerned about 2027 and what happens if the economy tanks due to sh-t that's happening all over the world.
Mass Demotions Rolling Out
What’s everyone’s take on the demotions that are coming? We did have a bit of title inflation, but this project seems drastic. Some people are taking a huge hit to their title and external resume value.
I really think leadership is massively underestimating the morale impact of this project. Bain is demonstrating that they don’t understand our industry in doing this.
How is the RTO policy
Hello
How is the RTO policy now ? Asking for a friend. I heard like a month back the the new CEO don't care much about coming to office and many ppl stopped coming to office as less as once a month?
When an accountant be CEO, that's the flag for layoff
lost a lot of small businesses, too focused on hardware/POS machine.
When bring a CEO with engineering background, he is just talk everything about devices, no one care about service, lost a lot of small businesses.
then new CEO with accountant background, everyone known --- layoff is coming.
The big boss "san francisco" is bleeding... that's the way is.
Partner marketing
Do they collaborate well or do they have pointy elbows?
Layoffs at Global Payments are Imminent
Layoffs that were expected in June now appear to be slipping into July. My guess is the company is adding more people to the RIF list, which is not exactly surprising given Global Payments track record of recurring workforce reductions and the pressure to deliver the $600 million synergy target tied to the Worldpay deal.
Meanwhile, GPN stock is trading at its lowest level since the TSYS acquisition in 2019 and is down roughly 30% since Cameron Bready became CEO in 2023. Oh and the guy that Cameron put in charge to run the SMB business ($6 BILLION!) who has never run a business in his career? Yes, layoffs are definitely coming.
Remember when Cameron got on stage when he became CEO three years ago and told everyone his goal was to build a "best-in-class" culture? Three years later, many teams are doing the work of two and three people, while bracing for yet another round of cuts and the lack of leadership at the C-suite level is truly shocking.
When is the board going to realize that Cameron isn't fit to run the company? Until then, employees should expect even more uncertainty, more restructuring, and more layoffs. So GPN employees listen up, things are only going to get worse so if you get offered a package next month, be grateful, and RUN as fast as you can.
In the meantime, #BringSloanBack!
VIVEK, can you hear me now == RESIGN!!!

FanDuel Layoffs Boost Flutter Entertainment Stock Price
FanDuel implemented organizational changes, resulting in staff layoffs across various departments. The exact number of affected employees is unconfirmed but could be in the hundreds. Roles cut include middle-management positions within both sportsbook and casino operations. Flutter Entertainment's share price surged significantly after the layoff announcement. This action follows similar workforce reductions by other gaming companies that also saw stock bumps.

Employee Engagement Survey
On its way Monday 15th June. Let’s all tell Jenny & Rahuuul what a brilliant job they’re doing with their world-class company. Nah, just mention ‘any chance of a pay rise’ in very comment box and advise any potential new joiners to run a mile!!
