Talk to Chuck 2026
I’m genuinely surprised by the rumors of a Talk to Chuck reboot.
IIRC, the original campaign launched 20 years ago as a marketing initiative built on trust, integrity, and Chuck being approachable and aligned with everyday investors.
Hard to see how that message works the same today??
All We Are Is A Logo In A Sporting Event
Why is it i can't watch any sporting event without seeing gobs of att product shots. I mean, FFS... the headphones, the endzone cameras, halftime shows, pregame shows, post-game, trophy presentation. There's no end to how much we spend on trash that nobody cares about.
Who really believes that ATT stadium makes us a better company? Maybe if the cowboys didn't su-k, that would be something. But, seriously.. I am so tired of seeing at&t on everything. How many employees do we fire to have our stupid logo on every side of the coaches headset? It doesn't work you id--ts! Our products su-k because you would rather have a stupid stadium than have world class products at a reasonable price.
Why can't we just be the best at voice and data? What have these endless sponsorships ans placements done to make this a better company?
THANK YOU FOR LETTING THE WORLD KNOW WE HAVE GMAIL
Now we know why marketing won’t give us the PR we ask for. The CMO was focused writing this masterpiece as the end of year message to let our customers know we have gmail. The innovation is off the charts. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20251230219645/en/Avaya-Chooses-Gemini-Enterprise-and-Google-Workspace-for-AI-Driven-Collaboration-and-Next-Gen-Workplace-Productivity
How’s your department doing right now? Here’s what I see in “Marketing.”
The marketing function has become a factory for titles, acronyms, and unaccountable “strategy” that fails the only test that matters: measurable impact on claims, utilization, and outcomes. Too much work is optimized for decks, meetings, and vanity metrics—and not nearly enough is grounded in basic insurance fluency, network reality, or results you can defend in the data.
The org is so aggressively matrixed that responsibility evaporates. People “own” a narrow slice of a slice of a business, yet can’t clearly explain what they own, what the product actually is, what the acronyms mean, or how members are supposed to find in-network care. When ownership is that diluted, execution becomes guesswork and accountability becomes optional.
Meanwhile, member outreach is a chaotic pile-on. Digital sends emails. Marketing sends emails. MDLIVE sends emails. Express Scripts sends emails. There’s no single orchestrator, no shared plan, and no one accountable for the member experience end-to-end—just overlapping blasts and conflicting messages. Cigna doesn’t have a marketing organization; it has a fragmented broadcast system optimized for internal theater, not results.
Marketing
How is Brady still in charge of marketing with these silly commercials?? Embarrassing.
Shoutout
Shout out to our WONDERFUL CEO and marketing teams FAILURE to get merchandise/stock into our COR retail stores! YES YES! Direct fill you say, but I am customer I need it now! You know it is Christmas! So what’s your problem ! You scream here in Texas about sale sale sale but yet YOU failed the stock holders and your front line employees! Hope you feel good about yourselves!
Minimalism aka common sense is the new market driver.
The emperor's new clothes? Nope. The emperor's new car. Enough with the hype already when it comes to EVs amongst other things. Needs and wants. And fools. A fool and his money are soon parted? Nope. They are "always" parted. Depreciation for the sake of newness is a wonderful investment? I have a dime to sell you for a dollar. Why the weird look? It's a very special dime. It is a new dime. Now where did I put that 5 dollar bill. It's a special one. I will sell it to you for a thousand dollars. Not everyone can afford that. That makes you special. Oh look! I have a one hundred dollar bill. It's a very special one!
Interesting Developments today
Rumor has it there is a significant Marketing "reorganization"
What is going on in Marketing?
Spending money on rebranding and Happy Gilmore? How about focusing on supporting your front line sales teams trying to bring in business to keep the company growing. We need real tools and sales support instead of spending millions on fluff that will never see the return on the investment. Fix the basics. Learn to block and tackle. It’s business marketing 101.
Layoffs?
After the earnings call - you could see this coming- heard from some marketing folks that that theyre getting let go
WW E-Commerce to absorb Marketing
Marketing teams working under their respective geos will be absorbed into WW E-Commerce on January 1st. Many are concerned with redundancy and eventual reduction in workforce. Not much else has been provided aside from this being a global change but layoffs seem probable by end of fiscal year.
Marketing leadership change
Joe IBM and his gang have pushed the outsiders fully out the way of the leaders team so he can continue his takeover of marketing. Sandy Oh-No is either helping plot his succession to CMO or is too busy with her AI characters to even notice the empire building going on. Sad to see things falling a part due to incompetence and egos winning over good leadership but has happened to many teams and this week to ours. Why do they keep moving functions under someone who not done anything and still thinks he works at big blue?.
Healthcare Marketing Sells Us Everything Except a Healthy System.
Healthcare marketers love to talk about the “Four Ps” — Product, Price, Place, Promotion — as if patients were shoppers and hospitals were department stores. It’s a neat framework, but it conveniently ignores the one thing most responsible for Americans’ suffering: the system itself.
Nowhere in the glossy brochures or strategic plans will you hear about the forces that actually make people sick, broke, and broken. Not the staggering prices set by hospital monopolies, the insurance denials that delay care, or the dr-g costs that rival mortgage payments. Not the administrative maze that swallows billions while offering little in the way of better outcomes.
Marketing can tell you where to get care, but not why care is so hard to afford. It can promise convenience, but not accountability. It can craft messages about “patient experience,” but never about why the experience so often ends in medical debt.
The problem isn’t that healthcare marketing is shallow — it’s that the system it serves is. Until we confront the perverse incentives that reward treating illness over preventing it, or profit over public health, no amount of branding will fix what’s fundamentally broken.
Americans don’t need better healthcare marketing.
They need a healthcare system that doesn’t need marketing at all.
Just saw an optum add on Thelayoff

Verizon Marketing Merging
Do you think there will be layoffs due to different marketing groups merging and/or consolidating?
New leadership please
This is not the first time Target has failed. Had they learned their lesson after failing to launch in Canada they would not be in this mess. They believe they can tell consumers what that need and want and that’s just not how it works. Value is such a subjective thing and Walmart and Costco have successfully tapped into this. I remember when I started 4 years ago and barely shopped at Target as a consumer because I was on a tight budget. Once I got my employee discount I figured it was worth it. I stuck to groceries and avoided the stuff I didn’t need. I told my senior director that Target may be off putting to people on a budget and maybe that should do a fun marketing campaign making fun of overspending and that you could grocery shopping on a budget. His response: we have teams that look into marketing and for me to essentially stay in my lane. This is why Target is failing. Leaders think they know better. I left a year ago and just shake my head at such an avoidable situation.
Don’t worry, Total Wireless
Is launching a new commercial. Just saw the “hard work” the team is super excited for on LinkedIn. Tone deaf!
Wealth Management Marketing
I am about to join wealth management marketing and would like to learn more about it. Can someone provide me insight into how is the work life balance and the bonus range? The HR mentioned that the bonus range is anywhere between 20-45% in marketing.
Why couldnt they have hired Franz while Hans was still with us!
Shameful waste of marketing $ over past 5 years. Using almost anybody from SNL. We lose Hans but gain Franz. Really??? SNL full circle
BET Longevity ?????????????
Is the marketing department and BET + Complete done ? I don't know what to believe at this point.I have been told that the next round the remaining people in marketing will be let go. I lost a lot of people on the BET+ side to buyouts and layoffs. I am so disappointed. I guess we don't have to worry about BET Awards ever again.
Marketing layoffs
Sounds like there is a major reorganization in the marketing team and the corporate and business levels and multiple members of the marketing teams globally have been given a two weeks notice.
Creative Job Cuts @ PwC
- PwC reportedly laid off its entire internal creative team of around 40 employees, along with some communications staff.
- Internal sources and Reddit posts indicate the firm is outsourcing creative and marketing work, possibly replacing some functions with AI tools.
- PwC had partnered with major ad agency McCann in 2024 and launched a major rebrand earlier in 2025.
- The layoffs suggest PwC is shifting away from in-house creative production toward external or automated solutions.
- Reactions online note that AI-generated marketing materials are nearly indistinguishable from work by professional designers, underscoring the shift’s broader implications.

Hubspot laid several off today
Mostly impacted middle management in marketing and engineering. However, some teams are entirely gone and being merged into different units. This has been going on in smaller batches throughout the year, but this is one of the first times leadership kind of addressed it. Coincided with Q3 earnings call, unsure whether c-suite discussed with investors.
Everyday Solution Cards
Did the launch of the Everyday Solutions cards flop? Why are they pushing hard for associates to sign up for exclusive offers but I don’t see anything exclusive about the offers? They all seem pretty basic and not worth it.
Smarter than Elon Musk?
Remember when Verizon’s leadership thought they were smarter than Elon by hiring a marketing executive from Twitter?
Elon had fired her — and guess what? Verizon lost millions of dollars on a failed rebranding and logo.
Outsourcing to Continue?
It started with parts of Tech. Will parts of Operations and Marketing be outsourced? Who knows, maybe even Distribution in certain markets.
When Leaders think Champion and Woolrich are cool, we are in trouble.
If you want to feel sick read the linkedin posts of any marketing or merchandising leader. They congratulate each other for doing their jobs and agencies bootlick using only Target-approved words like "joy!" "More Joy!". The products and stores look like Kmart 2000. Remember when leaders in marketing had creative taste and style? And merchants delivered 'unexpected' in a good way? Not "wow Target is selling Champion for more than TJ Maxx ?" unexpected.
Respectfully of course
Great to see Queen Kate Publish for her great job she’s done turning Lumen around…. How fitting it was posted on Lay off day. That’s your Marketing at work.
I wonder how many Layoff’s happen at Apple per year and Yet Tim Cook isn’t gloating about the good job he does.
Corp Reorg
I heard they will cut Corp strategy and marketing teams loose next week.
I'm curious if "Project M" was leaked by employees or if DELL leaked it themselves
BI - Business Insider has an entire story about this NDA thing and much of it is accurate however, I can't help but wonder if it was EMPLOYEES who leaked all this or if Dell did it to try and gain interest or something...
Kind of how Apple leaks product info/details about new products.
Dell isn't "selling" a new product here but what they are doing is moving towards a new platform and it's possible by Dell leaking this, it'd make customers/future customers think "hey, I like what they are doing! Let's think about Dell instead of HP!"
Maybe the Ad Got Past Legal Because the One Competent Person Was RTO’d to Dallas or ATL — Five Days a Week With No Seat
AT&T’s latest masterclass in self-sabotage: spend millions attacking T-Mobile, violate NAD rules, and get slapped with a cease-and-desist.
You’d think someone in legal or marketing would’ve caught that — maybe the one competent person who actually reads compliance documents.
But that person got RTO’d to Dallas or Atlanta five days a week, fighting for a seat, dodging “collaboration days,” and wondering why their life turned into a bad sitcom.
Meanwhile, the yes-men who approved this ad are sipping coffee in their corner offices, calling this fiasco “brand momentum.”
Let’s be honest — we’re not #1 in customer service or innovation.
We’re #1 in wasting money. We should be a Harvard Business School case study on how to find new ways to burn cash and call it a strength.
Only AT&T could turn a marketing campaign into a compliance violation and call it “forward-thinking.”
Now the ad’s gone, the money’s gone, and morale’s in free fall — but hey, at least leadership gets another “All-Hands” meeting to tell us how proud they are of the team.
Stink's Ads Stink! AT&T Business provides business security? T Cannot protect it's own data!
WTF!
The nerve of the Stink to show TV ads stating that AT&T provides secure business services when Toxic-T has lost hundreds of thousands of customer's data multiple times over the last few years.
The Stink thinks everyone is d-mb when the Stink is the dummy! Well, that and the Stink is a POS!
PepsiCo getting a new logo lmao
A friend in marketing in purchase told me they’re releasing a brand new PepsiCo logo on Tuesday lol. Really got them priorities in order!!!
Where is the growth ? Take a peak
All products consolidated under CPO office , but the only product growing is the CPO's overhead - marketing, planning biz dev, PR while engineering shrinks
Applied to a Marketing job
Hi, When I was searching for Edward Jones review somehow this thread showed up in Google. I had applied for a job and had my interview with the hiring manager. She mentioned something about leadership assessment. Can someone tell me what this is? I have applied for a marketing role not for FA role. I am so confused on why marketing would need leadership assessment role. Also, the number of rounds of interview are ridiculous I have to meet total of 10 people if I pass the leadership assessment for a junior product role. Can someone shed light on the leadership assessment and final rounds of meeting with 3 people per round?
Verizon launches Lite home internet for people in limited coverage areasThough Verizon advertises the plan at $25 per month, it actually $60
This should have been an offer for Visible. The street is not going to like this next week…
