And so it begins

Just had a call with my new "leader" at Charter and was told in no uncertain terms "Move to Stamford of you are effectively resigning from the company." Nice right? Alex Taylor cared about one thing and one thing only - building his legacy within the family, regardless of the human capital losses.

XOM and skydiving

Current XOM is like a skydiver that was forced to jump out of the plane not wearing a parachute while being required to report back to the Flight Crew every 10 seconds with a status update.

For the first several updates, everything is going exactly per plan and the Flight Crew, especially the Captain, pats themselves on the back, hands out record bonuses to each other and determines that everything is going so great, the other skydivers on the plane are forced to jump sans-chute too.

But that last status update will eventually come in from the Ground Crew and no one but the Flight Crew will be surprised.

I can’t wait when Big Tech swallows Big Finance after AI

Scharf is so corrupt that his c-suite continues to lie, lie, lie that work produced by AI is not the product of the employees who know the subject matter to properly use AI. I will laugh when after Scharf is done firing everyone - big Tech price gouges Wells Fargo and takes it over.

Our beloved $36 Million Man Has a Lot of Explaining to Do

At what point do we stop calling this a “turnaround” and admit Nike’s leadership sc--wed up? The stock is sitting around $38.

That’s after years of bad decisions, losing momentum with younger customers, getting buried by competitors, and turning some of the most iconic shoes in the world into glorified clearance-rack inventory.

And somehow the people running the company are still getting paid like everything is going great.

Elliott Hill pulled in $36.3 million in 2026 after laying off thousands of hardworking people. Meanwhile, Nike’s stock is still nowhere near where it was a few years ago.

VA will be CEO

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if VA eventually replaces EH as CEO. A lot of people senior leaders are frustrated that we still haven’t seen the turnaround everyone was promised.

EH is unable to get the business moving again, especially around innovation, product, and brand momentum, the board is going to have to seriously consider a change. VA could be a logical next choice given his experience and understanding of the company. Sad part is that we don’t have any good replacement options with our stock teetering in the 30’s.

the mass exodis of NetApp leadership to HP.. What dont we know?

Anybody notice the mid level and upper level leadership at NetApp leaving and all ending up at HP.

1st. Who can say they enjoy working at NetApp? the whole company changed, and the existing leadership ki-led it.
2nd. Its good to know Sandeep wont be going to HP, he was already tossed out like a dirty diaper.
3rd. What do the leaders that left know that we dont know. Whats up with Netapp, whats up with HP.
4th. yep, layoffs coming. they are ALWAYS coming. They layoff a title, replace that person with someone else having a slightly diffrent title, exact same job because some new leader wants to hire a friend from a former company.

5th. I talked to friend at a company like PWC. Its common talk, NetApp retention is 100% compensation focused. Leadership at NetApp knows the people are misserable and will leave at first chance.

sad

I received no raise, while execs... including Hemsley... continues to receive mega comp packages. If employes are being asked to accept stagnant pay because of the company’s performance and financial challenges, exec compshould be subject to the same scrutiny... and sacrifice.

I have been with UnitedHealthcare for more than 20 yrs & it is frustrating to watch longtime employees feel undervalued while leadership continues to be well compensated. Folks are tired of hearing the same corp messaging quarter after quarter without seeing meaningful improvements in our compensation or working conditions.

At some point, leadership needs to recognize that employee loyalty has limits. Period... If the co wants to retain experienced people, it needs to demonstrate that through competitive pay and meaningful raises - not simply words of appreciation. Employees cannot continually be expected to absorb the consequences of management decisions while executives remain financially insulated from them.

Its sad discouraging to see news about employees receiving little or nothing in additional compensation while the company's stock responds positively. That sends a terrible message to the people who have spent years helping build and operate this organization. Please start listening to employees and appropriately compensating the people doing the work. Otherwise UHC should not be surprised when experienced employees decide they have had enough and leave.

Utilization Review Leaders Lied

The 800 nurses working under the utilization review umbrella were lied to or was it a bait and switch? The nurses were told a new work hour schedule was in the works -the nurses would be notified this week and the new hours would start Monday 8/31/26
Today in an email that was very flip they ignored the fact they LIED and said the schedule would be released next week to start 09/30/26 Humana Values Really — Golden Rule — NO
—-Team with TRUST —NO
The Leaders all need to be Fired
Morale is at all time low
Not professional

Chief Commercial Officer

In December, CW was exited and the role was eliminated by Hill stating it was to remove layers.

Today, role is reinstated and offered to JE from Walmart and is now considered a vital role and critical to the strategy.

Optically speaking, this is horrible. Leadership never beating the allegations that they are just throwing sh-t at the wall and seeing what sticks.

EH proving he isn’t the guy and must now make moves to set up his backfill.

Paul Taylor named President of DXC; Dan Gray to lead Global Infrastructure

Paul Taylor was named President of DXC Technology, assuming the role from Raul Fernandez, who will continue as Chief Executive Officer.

Thoughts?

Is the executive revolving door at Centene a sign of the end, or just a major pivot?

With so many executives leaving, it's hard not to wonder is Centene on its last legs, or is the company just going through a brutal restructuring?

Now we have a new CFO coming in from outside the healthcare industry. Will bringing in non-healthcare financial leadership turn the ship around, or will the steep learning curve just drive us further down?

Honest thoughts? Starting to get really worried about where we’re heading. :/

Paralysis Analysis at HCSC

Part of the Cigna / HealthSpring acquisition here. Over at Cigna part of the business strategy was buying companies and quickly incorporating them into our BO operations. On the other hand, HCSC seems like a kid in fourth grade trying to figure out a college level manual. How are we still waiting on decisions here almost two years in? When will Igor come up with a definitive direction around AI? The townhall where he said "100 years ago, people didn't know they wanted a car, they just wanted faster horses" was a fancy little tidbit. Well, Igor, using your own analogy, we don't want a car or a horse, we just want to start moving. When are you going to get out of the way and let the team race forward?

Maybe Spend Less Time Maintaining Your Network and More Time Leading the Company

If our CEO spent a little less time on social media maintaining his network and relevance for whatever his next role might be—and a little more time actually leading this company—maybe the rest of us would spend less time on Layoff.com wondering when the next restructure or round of layoffs is coming.

Employees cannot focus on growing, innovating, and thriving when they are constantly waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Leadership isn’t about likes, visibility, or staying relevant in your network. It’s about giving your people a strategy they can believe in, creating stability, communicating a direction, and actually executing.

We don’t need another LinkedIn post.

We need you to do your damn job and lead.

I keep looking back at the last few years

I've watched restructures and personnel decisions systematically remove anyone who was intelligent, trustworthy, or actually cared about employees. The company has spent years making sure there's no one left who can lead effectively. And now we're surprised things are falling apart?

Requesting Professionalism?

The health-insurance industry is the largest barely-legal fraud in America.

The guy who started Centene was a money grubbing thug.

The people running the company now have Zero morals or integrity.

You make major profit by denying people “healthcare” and can’t even run the racket quietly without major lawsuits.

The only thing keeping the American people from putting the entire C-suite in jail is government cronyism.

Stop dressing it up as “leadership.”

"Some bosses aren’t leaders.
They’re bullies with titles.
And pretending otherwise only protects the wrong people.

A bad boss doesn’t just make work annoying.
They make people doubt themselves.
They drain confidence.
They turn Sunday night into a stress spiral.

They make good employees wonder if they’re the problem.
They usually aren’t.

DDI found that employees with leaders who genuinely care about their well‑being are 3x more likely to be engaged — which is the least surprising statistic on earth.

People do better work when their leader actually gives a damn.

And you can hear the difference instantly.

A boss says:
“Figure it out.”
“That’s your problem.”
“I don’t have time for this.”
“You’re lucky to have a job.”
“I don’t pay you to think.”

A leader says:
“Let’s work through it.”
“What do you need?”
“Let’s prioritize.”
“I appreciate what you bring.”
“Tell me what you think.”

That’s not “soft.”
That’s real leadership.

People remember how you acted when things got hard.
They remember who had their back.
And they absolutely remember the person who used authority to make them feel small.

A title makes you a boss.
How you treat people decides whether anyone follows you."

More CIOs, that'll fix it!

Saw an org announcement that we now have seven CIOs with overlapping responsibilities (we had some of them before). I guess things were going so well with chief dipsh-t as CDIO that they decided we needed even more chief dipsh-ts. This played out at Optum a decade ago - spoiler alert: it ends with RIFs and consolidation.

Dell vs NVIDIA

NVIDIA has approximately 42,000 full-time employees and just reported $96.2B in fiscal 2027 quarterly revenue, with projections to do 110B next quarter. They could easily surpass $500B within the next two fiscal years. That's nearly $12M in annual revenue per employee.

Dell Technologies reported an annual revenue of $113.5 billion with an employee headcount of approximately 97,000 full-time workers. That's 1.1M in annual revenue per employee.

NVIDIA has 43% of the total number of employees to Dell yet it is on track to bring in well over 10x the total amount of revenue per employee. Leadership!

Nvidia is hiring, Dell is firing. Nvidia is growing rapidly, Dell is dying.

Pappa wake up after 1 year

Tony p came got folks to change logo, went on DXC holidays and golf trips for a year, and has now issued his email for the next year. Cavery has gone to join another employer. Mary before her wasted a load of money on Manchester and F1. Ask anyone about DXC and they will says its a fried chicken outlet. What a merry go round

Thank you Kumar! Ford employees are grateful for your leadership~

"Kumar's leadership across our global industrial system has been instrumental in driving the significant progress we've made most recently in initial quality," Farley said in texted statement after the interview. "His broad experience and unique responsibilities ... have enabled us to deliver our breakthrough results."

Why do you have bankers?

Ai can take in financials, spread them, do analysis, and put together a memo for approval. Why do you need bankers, regionals presidents etc? Complete waste of money. The relationships they have don’t mean anything.

When Leadership Realizes No One Is Safe

SVPs, VPs, directors…leadership is officially shook. It has finally hit home that no one is safe. Now it’s a survival game, complete with finger-pointing, people throwing each other under the bus, and everyone trying to outlast the next person. Watching it unfold is both wild and slightly hilarious. SF needs a complete leadership overhaul.

Exec and other senior leaders… next ones up?

Who replaces MKW? Obvious choice right now is EB

Upstream CN? BK, RB?
CFO EB -> JG
Downstream AW?
Subsurface JK?
Wells JS?

Turnaround, Capital Projects, FE movements probably not from retirements as those guys are pretty young still

MN and ES roles probably just go away and save the company millions

Nike’s Greatest Innovation: Turning $200 Billion Into a PowerPoint Slogan

Nike never misses an opportunity to tell everyone it is the world’s most innovative company—a fearless champion of creativity, self-expression, and the rebellious spirit of sport.

Apparently, the latest expression of that innovative spirit is turning a $169 stock into a $39 stock.

That is a 78% collapse from its 2021 peak, roughly $200 billion in market value erased, a 12-year low, eight consecutive quarters of declining sales in China, Nike Direct revenue down 7%, digital sales down 12%, and the stock heading toward its worst annual performance since 1993.

But please, tell us more about “Win Now.”

Only Nike’s leadership could lose approximately $200 billion, fall behind younger and more innovative competitors, watch Jordan and Sportswear lose momentum, and still walk into the next all-hands meeting congratulating themselves for being courageous disruptors.

The company celebrates self-expression—as long as employees express exactly what leadership wants to hear. It celebrates risk-taking—as long as executives never risk their own jobs. It celebrates innovation—then eliminates experienced innovators, reorganizes the survivors, and expects a new corporate slogan to design the products consumers no longer see coming from Nike.

This isn’t innovation. It’s institutional arrogance wearing expensive sneakers and carrying a PowerPoint deck.

Nike’s greatest recent innovation may be discovering how to turn “Just Do It” into “Just Keep Saying Innovation Until Investors Stop Looking at the Numbers.”

They haven’t.

Employee survey question on process

Ever wondered why this question always scores the lowest?

I think that's because leaders don't give a flying f to people who can understand and fix the process. Process teams are either working on spi maintenance with low value, paid very low or buried under change managers who have no clue about the process. A handful of leaders in the organisation give importance to process and until process ideas move out of change teams, there's little hope for improvement here. AI is no help to a bad process. What do you think?

Congratulations for a YTD Return of +1.03% !!!!

I would like to congratulate the PEP team for this outstanding achievement. This is truly a testament to your dedication, leadership and passion for winning ! Not every organization with a Market Cap of $194B and 300,000 employees worldwide is capable of providing a lower rate of return to its investors than a Money Market fund. Although this may not create smiles for our investors, who cares, it's important to remember that change is difficult and just achieving this small positive number is something you can all be proud of. Let's try for +1.04 in the last 4 months of 2026 !
