Benefits Changes

The changes to benefits for imaging is the worst change to benefits I can remember. This new group OneImaging that we have to go through is terrible. What should be a quick scheduling with the doctors office takes weeks to find a cut-rate imaging center nearby and tell them what days you’d prefer and hope they have availability and get back to you. Costs went way up for all kinds of ultrasounds and some other imaging types.

What does first shift do, really?

Why in the world do they come in throwing their weight around, expecting that to change anything? They also have to be the most disorganized group! Hey, we are doing this this way. Then the next day they come in screaming like children who didn’t get their candy saying “I want it this way!” . Make up your mind because no one even thinks you know how you want it! While we are in first shift why in the world do they have supervisors under the en that work a completely different shift? Then write your yearly’s and mid-years? Fortunately, I have a boss that fights for me but some other shifts are not that fortunate! First shift is completely useless other than they are too full of themselves and want to be heard every morning at pass down.
The issue is now coming in yelling and changing your mind no one can take them seriously. For a huge organization it’s not very organized at all! This by the way is why you don’t hire interns out of college and put them in leadership roles, leadership has to be taught or they will fail to lead properly!

new leadership and direction is needed

leadership havent evolved in the last 10+ years. For a company that is hyper focused on money making strategy over and above technology strategy, the pivot should be to high margin software. IBM and HPE constantly acquire software companies and are better for it. JC is a one trick pony and every leader beneath are 'yes men' who are only concerned with their next options or rsu allocation. Bring in some fresh blood and wake up ya muppets!

Rebranding excercise

Initially, the rebranding news struck me as a desperate move. However, if the new logo is a shift from the iconic Sabre red to black or graphite, it makes some sense. It is either a bold gamble or a deliberate move to align with Google branding. This is especially plausible if there are plans for deep integration into the Google ecosystem. Imagine booking flights directly through Google Maps powered by Sabre. In that context, a minimalist tech focused visual identity is not just a facelift, it is a strategic fit.

Am I wrong thinking this?

I wanted to ask for some clarification regarding the recent changes in Teams and the organizational view. Previously, it clearly showed the team I’ve worked with consistently, but now when I look at my organization, it lists many different names I’m not familiar with. I understand that organizational structures can evolve, but the sudden change without context feels confusing. Can someone please explain what these updates reflect and whether they indicate a shift in team alignment, reporting structure, or workflow? I believe transparency helps everyone stay informed and aligned, and I would appreciate any insight you can provide.

Very nervous

Only about one more month until CS moves to china. I work in APLA and writing is on the wall that we will be dissolved as a geo as of fy 2027. CS HAS BEEN the steady ship we've needed and has made apla an incredible place to work, I'm very excited for her but nervous for this change. Anyone have any info?

The H3LL with this.

Way too much uncontrolled uncertain chaos. Tons of lame misguided of both decision and indecision. Coulda woulda shoulda not sure so layoff. Hire from other banks……oooppss…they went somewhere else now. Umm stick with the layoff plan I guess.

This is all getting so old. Good luck everyone.

https://www.storyboard18.com/brand-marketing/meta-cuts-1500-jobs-as-cfo-susan-li-signals-reality-labs-pivot-towards-wearables-88694.htm

Meta announced 1,500 job cuts, primarily within its Reality Labs division. The company is reassessing its long-term virtual reality and metaverse investments. CFO Susan Li stated Reality Labs spending will now focus more on wearables. This shift includes shutting down VR gaming studios and cancelling content initiatives. Wearables, especially smart glasses, have shown stronger market demand for Meta.

Possible Changes Incoming and Other Thoughts

Last week CMS proposed a Medicare Advantage increase of 0.09% - basically nothing compared to the 2025 3.7% increase - all in the face of increasing medical costs, significant turbulence, and troubles in the industry. I would not be surprised if we see restructuring in the coming months and possible layoffs..

My perspective: leadership is WAY out of touch to handle these tough coming years, and like always - they will collect their golden parachutes while making significant changes that are unguided by long-term perspective and experience in the business - impacting employees and our products. They would rather rely on their hubris than ask a senior employee working in the trenches their opinion about a change. They will try to cut costs by decreasing product offerings and cut critical resources impacting member experience leading to a long term hit to the business, all while we should be doing the opposite to increase market share. The Spendables fiasco was a disaster, CM / PHCO has what measurable impact? , the Quality team is doing what to reduce medical costs? It is unfortunate that instead of hiring for leadership positions internally, they would rather go outside of the organization and bring someone new in..

Overall I am trying to remain hopeful for Centene - but when we stray away from the mission which is supposed to guide us and improve profits, our short term thinking will do the opposite. I'll end with this: AI is not our future, our employees and our members are.
