Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

The culture died overnight

There were always cuts, that's part of the business. But I didn't expect the culture to change so completely and so fast. I swear, it became toxic almost overnight. The environment is now completely unrecognizable. It'd almost be fascinating, if it didn't affect us all so much.

It died when they allowed people with salaries to continue on staff and took pay from the reps.

The reps need to make money or they won’t have to worry about selling direct anymore.

I hope all these cuts today allow this company to take a step in the right direction to setting fair prices and allowing people to make money.

Keep cutting and don’t stop at the directors. Sales managers need to go also.

Executives are super toxic and very unpopular. They fly in and don’t know the business. Make poor decisions and then blame others who have been at it longer.

Asking for another short term revenue report and focusing on short term results is not Leading the organization.

Business school case studies will refer to it as “The Sammy Effect” for generations to come.

There’s Pareto’s Principle, The Law of Supply & Demand, Game Theory, Assets = Liabilities + Equity…then there’s the Sammy Effect.
