Reporting to USCIS

x.com/ChiefEngineerCE/status/2095181456184316130
People ask what actually happens if you report a visa coworker to USCIS anonymously. Here is the process. It is not a movie. It is paperwork that becomes the employer’s problem.
You find you or an American colleague is carrying the weight of a staff full of unqualified H1B while they are working their way through firing and hiring more and more...
So-
You file the tip at the USCIS form:
https://uscis.gov/report-fraud/uscis-tip-form
You can submit without your name. Give the worker’s name, employer, worksite, job title, and specific examples of missing skills, wrong duties, or a title that does not match the degree. Vague reports die. Specific reports can be checked against the petition the company already filed.
Honestly, multiple reports are better and if its a safety or fraud issue then it is going to carry more weight.
Understand-
You will not get a status update. No case number. No email that says the visa was pulled. That is by design.
USCIS screens the tip. If it looks like benefit fraud, it can go to Fraud Detection and National Security. They already have the LCA, the claimed degree, the wage, and the worksite. They compare your facts to the employer’s attestations. If it looks criminal or worksite-related, it can go to ICE. Wage and location issues can also go to the Department of Labor.
What the company sees is the headache. At first it's HR then its time gathering documents and scheduled meetings. Then it gets expensive as attorneys get involved and the longer it takes the more they make.
An unannounced site visit. Officers asking who works there, what they actually do, and whether it matches the petition. Interviews with managers and the visa worker. Document requests. A Request for Evidence. A Notice of Intent to Revoke. Immigration counsel on the clock. HR locked in a conference room explaining why the “engineer” does not have an engineering degree. If the company refuses to cooperate, USCIS can use that against petitions at that worksite.
The coworker usually does not hear “your colleague reported you.” Truth is they may not even know they were reported. HR might call and ask some questions but avoid tipping him off, because there is a risk as to what he might divulge. The last thing the employer needs is for it to get out and for others to follow suit.
Even if he is told the person impacted is not likely to tell anyone or may be compelled to cooperate and disclose information about his manager and colleagues.
They hear that renewal got harder, the border got colder, or FDNS showed up at reception. That process can drag. It is still expensive. Counsel, lost time, and a compliance file that now exists are costs the employer pays whether the petition ultimately survives or not.
That is the point. Employers treated these H1B filings as cheap and low-risk. A documented tip turns a quiet staffing choice into a federal review of the story they told the government.
Report wage and LCA problems to DOL at 1-866-487-9243. Worksite and identity issues to ICE at 1-866-347-2423 or https://ice.gov/webform/ice-tip-form.
Finally, do not invent facts. Crying wolf might get legitimate complaints ignored. A false federal report is its own problem. Real examples, dates, and duties are what make a tip land on someone who can act

Count Hoc-ular is coming, and blood will be spilled.

It has already started. People are dropping like flies in India, just vanishing from the office and address book. In Palo Alto, directors have been presented with a list of names in a closed-door meeting last week, but lower-level managers know nothing.

Here's what I think about the US timing:

We have an all-hands on Wednesday. They will probably say something about job cuts.

Our dictator-in-chief will swing by for his "Coffin Talk" on Thursday. He will do his normal routine about profits, AI, and money, and avoid the subject of job cuts unless asked. Then he will neither accept nor deny (typical Hoc).

After he flies back to Castle Dracula, the US layoffs will begin on Friday ( 9/11 of all days) though anaonomous 9am zoom meetings.

This will likely be a rolling layoff through the fall until December.... after that, we will get the regular smaller-scale cuts through 2027.

Good luck everyone... God be with you.

Discovery Material for Shujat Khan v. General Motors and Tuan Le v. General Motors

What other Discovery Materials should be sought and potentially made public relating to Shujat Khan v. General Motors and Tuan Le v. General Motors?

For example, data regarding new employee hiring by age and position may clearly present a preference towards younger workers, consistent with GM’s internal non-disclosed practices of rejecting candidates by age.

Additionally, collecting the data from Workday for notes made on job applicant’s profiles may also help provide context into GM’s current rank-and-yank methodology.

Removing the excuses from GM by forcing them to turn over data regarding hiring and firing of new and existing employees, as well as disclosing the specific measurable criteria for how GM ranks employees may prove beneficial, if made public from court filings.

Additional discovery materials may be requested, which could remove the curtain behind GM’s practices and may also lead to publicly outing the GM party responsible for implementing and executing age discrimination. It’s worth a try.

TD&O TEAMMATE APPRECIATE WEEK

I’m getting a lot of “my purpose“ recognition notifications from a bunch of executives I have never met and aren’t even in my hierarchy. Like I don’t report to them in any way shape or form. Almost like they are mistakingly recognizing me, when they mean to recognize somebody else. Has anyone else? I appreciate the effort, but considering how awful this company has been to work for the last two or three years it seems pretty disingenuous. The engagement survey starts next week, the new CEO starts today, etc. It just feels like a bunch of exacts are trying to cover their a-s.

There have been at least four reviews of Gina Vargiu-Breuer's conduct since she joined in 2024

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-08-25/sap-renewed-hr-chief-s-term-after-probes-cleared-her-of-fault

“SAP treats all misconduct allegations with the utmost seriousness and is committed to handling them through rigorous, fair, and thorough review processes,” the company, the supervisory board and Vargiu-Breuer said in an email. There was “no evidence of misconduct” by Vargiu-Breuer, according to the statement. “The Supervisory Board carefully considered all relevant information, including critical feedback, and decided to extend Gina Vargiu-Breuer’s contract based on a comprehensive assessment of her performance, leadership, and contribution to SAP’s transformation.”

Dan the wee man...

This is a great site. Really.

People come here with good questions, stupid questions, and occasionally questions so id--tic they achieve a kind of accidental brilliance. That’s society. We live with it.

But we also know this forum has a dedicated HR “team” reading pretty much every post and repost. And, apparently, the “moderators” occasionally lend a hand by making particularly effective posts disappear.

Not insider trading. Not NDA material. Not confidential information.

Just good, sharp criticism of the current leadership.

And my favorite feature—arguably the best health indicator on the entire site—is the down-arrow brigade.

Mention a particularly sensitive subject and, within minutes, the arrows start raining down. You couldn’t ask for a better diagnostic: someone hit a nerve.

And apparently that nerve belongs to the oligarchy.

So, to the HR “team” and the helpful moderators: please, keep it up. The disappearing posts and instant downvotes are remarkably refreshing. They tell us far more than you probably intended. Like that is gonna fix your problem

And to the people running this place: you’re welcome.

We’ll keep asking the uncomfortable questions, poking the obvious holes, and—apparently—keeping your lazy as--s employed.

Try not to delete this one too quickly. It’s almost a compliment.

You can sue your manager or supervisor personally!

I’m just gonna put this right here. Nike HR and Legal are there to protect the company. You can file a complaint through the EEOC and BOLI but completely separate you can sue your manager. Nike wants you to give up and give in. They want you to believe that what they are doing is ok. Keep solid documentation and take care of yourself! You are not defined by the swoosh or the toxic leadership.

Under ORS 659A, individual supervisors and managers can be held personally liable for discrimination, retaliation, or creating/allowing a hostile work environment — not just the company.

Rebadge / Layoffs

Let’s discuss rebadging and layoffs here exclusively.

Ideally we would keep discussions about layoffs and rebadges right here. Discussions get pushed down as new posts come in. However your own interactions with posts are recorded. If you comment on this post this site will continue to alert you about other comments on that thread. It’s still effectively anonymous unless Verizon knows someone that owns this domain. Which given how tone deaf leadership is around anything discussed here. It’s unlikely that is the case.

Activity Tracking

So apparently we’re being told our activity is being tracked… but no one can tell us what activity they’ve tracking yet. 😂

Like… what exactly are you monitoring? Keyboard activity? Teams status? Logins? Time in applications? Mouse movement? Because I’M WORKING LOL.

“We’ll let you know soon what’s being tracked” is such a wild thing to tell employees. What the f&$% are we doing here?! 😂

Ai agent on IT support for employees.

How is your experience?
For me it's been 3 weeks unable to access Oracle network. My ticket is still awaiting resolution and my colleague is following up on behalf of me. I didn't work for nearly 2 weeks.
Ai agent is keep generating responses that is not resolving the issue.
Calls to talk to a real human is taking a long time.

What would make things better for you?

Honest question. I see so much dissatisfaction here. Im one of the dissatisfied too. I know execs come here to read what we really have to say. Maybe we can take a sec to anonymously tell them what would help and see if they actually care to listen and do something. So what would improve your experience at FIS?
