Accept or not accept
I am torn between accepting VSP or not accepting. My thought is if I don’t accept I will be sc--wed eventually- if not with this round with upcoming rounds. At least with this I won’t be leaving with nothing. But then I don’t want to start over again. I am getting old. Then on the other hand if I am not one of the ones that will be laid off, the work load will be horrible. It is already bad enough and stressful as it is. The outlook of Obamacare is not looking real great from what I can tell so the likelihood of this being ongoing is high in my opinion. I just wish I knew what to do. And having to wait until July 15 to “find out your fate” basically does not help. Am I the only one that thinks this way?
Triple the work at the same pay
Everyone knows what's going to happen when the dust settles: Everyone left will be extremely overworked and not compensated for it. People will make $20 an hour and do the job of three people. We're just cogs in a massive machine.
Dear Andy and the Board
We are exhausted.
The people actually trying to keep up are exhausted. The rate of change in our platform, the multiple changes in strategy and direction for messaging, the rate of innovation around AI, middle management that lacks empathy and communication skills, the upcoming move to Google, the constant loud demand to do MORE FASTER with no end in sight. And now rumors of more layoffs to come.
We are at our breaking point. Yes we need to move fast to keep up in the market, but give us some damn grace and maybe a week long shut down to catch our breath. We are only human.
Lock in
Lock in guys, lock in.
It's becoming ridiculous
They keep adding more work even though our plates are already full. People leave or get let go, and they're never replaced, meaning we have to pick up after them. At this point, the majority of us are doing sixty hour weeks. Do they expect us to forget we have families?
Thinking of skipping this year’s OKO/SKO event
With the recent reorganisations, layoffs, and an increasingly demanding workload, my motivation to attend this year’s SKO event is quite low. Also the late evening sessions and a gala dinner that runs late, makes it a long and exhausting day.
Given the effort involved in attending and also need to be present in office next day is not worth the effort and time wasted. I would rather use that time wisely, especially since it feels like a better balance for me right now.
The attrition problem
I've watched at least five people leave my team over the last few months. I don't blame them, but the company makes no effort to hire new people, so those of us who stay end up doing the work of two or three people. Which means that deadlines that used to be reasonable are now impossible. If this keeps going, I'll be the next one out.
How does 3 day a week RTO get tracked?
Did they change how it’s tracked? Before I recall them just caring about the 8 week average, do they care about weekly average now?
If I go all 5 days this week, and next week I go in once, wouldn’t my weekly average be 3? Or do I need to go in 3 times a week to avoid any complaints or issues?
Will things start getting better?
This year so far was really hard. The workload, the uncertainty, the layoffs, and all the other changes made sure of that. I keep wondering if the second half of the year could actually be worse. Is that possible? Or have we hit the bottom and things will get better? I truly don't know.
How's today looking?
Any cuts?
I see nothing has changed
Left two years ago, just came back on this board to see if things have improved, and it's clear it's all exactly the same. They're still offshoring everything, thinning out US teams, and piling more jobs onto fewer people. My advice is to leave if you can. The grass truly is greener.
I’m completely checked out
I’m doing the work of two people.
Commuting in to an office to sit on zoom all day is expensive and depressing.
We do more and more hard work while org leaders reap all the benefits. Nothing trickles down.
I’ll just hang out doing the minimum until I’m laid off.
Tired of hearing about backfill and promotions that never actually show up
My manager keeps promising to fill open roles but nothing ever happens. We are drowning in work and every month it is the same story about help that never arrives.
Who'll pick up the extra workload?
I know I won't. I don't give a damn what's expected, I'm already overloaded as it is.
Meaningless "busy" work
Anybody else being given more meaningless "busy" work by their manager when you already have more than enough work of your own and are actually busy tying to get it done? Can there be any other point to this other than intentionally trying to make me look incompetent?
Claude
I used a TON of tokens trying to get Claude to do what I requested. Ultimately, I had to do it myself as it totally su-ks.
I hope it cost VZ plenty too
Forcing guys over 8 hrs starting Monday in Topeka.
Because we are so short of manpower what a way to treat your people .
We are beyond streamlining, efficiency, and innovation
Fixing this would take visionary leadership with courage, long-term commitment, and out-of-the-box thinking. Nothing even close is on the horizon. Fiserv will continue until there's nothing left to shovel over to leadership and shareholders. We'll keep existing in an ever-deteriorating culture until we're incapable of managing the cuts, handling the ever-increasing workload, or are replaced by offshore labor.
Eddy J. here….
Everyone quit your crying 😢 about RTO and get back to the office five days a week. If the complaints don’t stop you will required to work seven days a week on 12 hour shifts. Oh and no holidays off either!
Welcome to corporate America 🇺🇸!
Dhivya???? What?
I have a PhD for 20 years now and most of my papers are in AI. I worked for 5 years at Fiserv as a product director before I left! This lady keeps referring to AI, but she is simply talking about workflow and automation. This is not AI. Can someone please educated her? Is she just another Gibbons?
Employee Class Action Suit?
Anyone else tired of it all? Anyone else devote 10+ years to this company, only to be used like toilet paper and door mat? Anyone else tired of the targeting, retaliation, extra work load, cut in pay, loss of benefits? Maybe we should join up and take our fair share back..
Ai Slop
“Following the rollout of AI, supervisors appear to have increased pressure on work output and results. They now seem to expect near-perfect performance from a hybrid coax plant that is fundamentally imperfect.”
Love how Xeroids are so behind on basic concepts
I absolutely loved todays call and how Xeroids have to be coached on basic concepts as if they are something"New" to drive toward goals and functionality that Lexmark had already been performing and achieved over a decade ago.
SMH - I seriously don't know how a 120 year old company allowed it's workforce to be taken over by employees that just set on their hands collecting pay checks instead of driving these basic practices.
Renewed focus on remote employees?
Is there any truth behind a mid year focus on impacting remote employees? I heard there is but can’t comprehend how we can continue to lose people while the scope of work increases. ODW isn’t helping with workload (at least yet) and using AI only provides a temporary security blanket to speed some things up (while quality goes down).
MAY DAYS ARE UP
And they deleted days from April and did not properly tracked May WTFffff
I'm so tired of deadlines being we-ponized
Let me do my job and it'll get done in time. Hanging over my shoulder all the fu--ing time will only slow down the process and you threatening with my name being put on the "list" if it's not will just get me pi---d off, not motivated. How hard is it to let us do our jobs in peace?
Badge access
Headed to the Deerfield site? Request badge, accessing guardian. Stop reaching out to your peers and admins because it’s obvious that you’re just being lazy as everyone in the company has the ability to request bad access for any site and floor that they need. This goes for admin as well stop reaching out to you fellow admin to ask for bad access because you know darn well you can get Into guardian and enter the request yourself. An ACR on site will see that come through their inbox and approve as long as you provide the correct justification in the comment box
Everyone is very busy and doing the job of three people, especially administrative assistants - it’s crazy when one lazy admin asked another to do something that they are capable of doing and they know it.
"Work smarter instead of harder" means nothing here
When I say I'm drowning in work, everyone tells me to work smarter instead of harder, but how can I do that when nobody here actually removes the obstacles that make work harder than it needs to be? Until leadership starts fixing the broken processes, smarter isn't really an option.
What about today?
Will there be more cuts?
Every company is flattening
At some point, there needs to be real transparency around bloated administrative layers and whether they are creating proportional value. The people building, selling, supporting, and moving the business deserve a fairer share. Every company is flattening. If Cisco does not do the same, it is only a matter of time before employees, customers, and the market start questioning Cisco’s relevance.
Well said, @cp+1kr4j9r3b.
Work load increasing
Do anyone feels like the load is increasing day by day. More tasks been included
Polaris is a joke
Polaris efficiency is really just shifting of work to a different cost center. A few examples:
- I now spend time every pay period downloading my paystub and emailing it to myself. This used to be automated. With Lolaris I now take time to do it that I would otherwise be working.
- Time writing now takes multiple clicks and entering in archaic codes to get to the actual timesheet where in the former program it just opened up to the timesheet immediately.
Multiply these small time wasters by thousands of employees. Where is the productivity gain?
Workload
Did the workload go up the last couple of years? Or is it just me getting lazy?
out of touch
300+‐400 VPCH...not feasible for what coming ahead...please think about us and not your wallet...we are tired, mad sick of it...pile more on us with no help, and definitely no hours given to us....people are scared to speak up i think....please re-think all the stupid labor intensive programs you people are hatching.....produce, meat..kitchen....etc...please...we are tired and exhausted ....so much shrink you people are creating....please stop working us into the ground
Behind the scenes after May 7th
Talked to a few hiring managers on Friday and they all echoed the same thing , the last few weeks were the toughest they’ve ever had to maneuver. Every open position was flooded with applications . multiple leaders recommending and putting referees for their own people , non stop calls and emails for referrals all against a deadline to hire before the end of May. Managers were grinding through 8 to 10 interviews a day, trying to balance candidate situations like urgent visa situations and ongoing medical treatments. So people who found internal roles during this time was due to strongest leadership push rather than the best skills. glad May is wrapped up so everyone can take a breath and move on. I am sure there is better way to do this ..
How many going to drop resignation
Till the next stock cycle, How many going to drop?
Predictions for 2027?
Will we go to a full 4 days in office? Hourly tracking? Walking back of RTO?
I officially pronounce my team dead
We've been bleeding talent, whether through attrition or layoffs, and the best people are gone. There are very few of us left who can actually do the job, and the workload is impossible. I guess nobody really cares.
Been slow for a while.
It's normal to be a bit slow in late Summer but it never really got busy. Just one program everybody's hanging their hats (and hours) on. Can't last like this. The prospect of staff reductions hangs in the air like a dark, brooding cloud... waiting to storm.
