It would seem obvious that the WARN Act will be dismantled shortly since the bill was introduced by a senator who would be shunned today, and passed by a completely different type of congress than we see today. Not surprisingly Reagan did not sign the bill.
No question today's administration will ensure corporations have as much power to layoff as many workers without so much as a grunt. Removing guardrails meant to protect employees is their goal. Pay attention.
It’s frustrating watching upper management toss out people with twenty-plus years of knowledge just to make numbers look good for a quarter. I thought we were past this, but I was wrong. The short-term mindset is going to bite them hard down the road. No one seems to care, though.

Why the he-l is WF making such a big deal about today being the last day to accept the special award and making sure employees accept it. I don’t understand how all this works, but are employees helping to artificially inflate the company stock? I know few people not accepting it out of spite. I mean, 3 years to collect $2k…the argument is, just give me a $0.33 cent per hour increase for the next 3 years rather than making us wait for the full amount when there is a possibility of getting laid off anyway.

Better tighten those seatbelts folks, because sudden CFO exit is always a red flag for costs and strategy changes. CFO departures always raise questions about future capital plans, which may pressure management to cut costs, restructure teams, or slow projects that affect jobs. In other words, we're sc--wed. This will especially affect those in finance, project controls, or field roles, so make sure you prepare for the worst.
NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory said on Monday it will cut nearly 550 jobs as part of a restructuring, not related to the current U.S. government shutdown.
JPL is NASA's only federally funded research and development center. It designed, built and operated all five of the successful rovers sent so far to the surface of Mars.

For those of us who fondly recall working for the most respected company on the planet in the 70s and 80s I think this sad video speaks for itself. This is the destruction of IBM Endicott campus which was a crown jewel of IBM founder and CEO Thomas J Watson for 42 years. He cared DEEPLY about IBMers and had engineers paint buildings rather than lay them off in hard times. Building after building and campus after campus all being bull dozed like this as perhaps the largest and longest RIF reduction in force has been going on since Gerstner came in 93. Since then there has been some recoveries but every IBMer (most from acquisitions now) put their head on the pillow every night wondering if I am next for the RIF or PIP the new trick performance improvement plan to avoid severance. In these building shards generations of IBMers were the best of the best.

I've got so few things to do that I’m mostly standing around waiting for work. I went from being overworked to this within a month, which is how I know it's not an accident. Has anybody else been in a similar position? What can I expect?
Anyone else feel like they're getting the run around? Emails are not helpful and calling gets you no where. Has anyone gotten information on how to return equipment?
At least I get 2 weeks but dam they are doing just under the number not to qualify for the Warn Act.

As most of you may already know today is the day. Post here what department and locations we’re affected.
There’s been a lot of predictions on here about more rounds. Anyone got any real intel? It appeared the layoff impacted certain teams a lot more than others. It would make sense that the teams that were spared last time will be next in the firing line. Before Christmas and bonuses? How did they decide which teams were impacted more than others?

Ford Motor Co. is opening its private vault of vehicles, for the first time ever, to sell a rare supercar to the public at auction.
The plan is to use all of the money raised from the auction of the car to renovate and maintain the other vehicles in Ford's Heritage Fleet as well as prepare its GT collection in England for Le Mans next year. Also, Ford said this may be the first of other cars in the fleet to be offered to the public for purchase, the automaker said on Oct. 13.

It’s such a huge program for Carelon BH with a long history. How many jobs will be affected from MOS and elsewhere in Carelon BH? I suspect that other areas will be affected too as MOS infrastructure supports a wide swath of the company.
The new leadership has no clue what they are doing and destroyed the department. Hiring all mid-level execs and firing the workers. This week they are laying off 125ish people and told all IT to stay home until you are told if you have a job. What courage.

Auditing firm BDO USA has conducted layoffs and suspended non essential travel to cut costs while managing a $1.3 billion ESOP related loan from Apollo Global Management.
Bloomberg reporting cited by Yahoo Finance says the roughly 9 percent interest debt, reduced by 100 basis points after a June 30 refinancing, is pressuring multiple departments including tax, audit, and advisory. BDO declined comment on client matters.
The firm also faces scrutiny from a proposed ESOP class action alleging workers overpaid to join the plan, and reputational fallout from First Brands Group’s bankruptcy after BDO provided a clean audit opinion.
Despite headwinds, a source said the firm remains financially stable and continues to optimize operations. BDO reported $2.89 billion in revenue for the year ended December 31 and in September announced plans to hire more than 1,300 people from HORNE.

O’Kelly minus Mo’Kelly minus his producer Tawala Sharp, imaging director Clay Roe, and Real 92.3’s overnight host Chuck Dizzle. The moves come as KFI’s ratings have softened and the station adapts after leadership changes and newsroom cuts, though KFI still tied for 14th in the market in September.
CEO Bob Pittman’s 2024 compensation drew criticism in the piece, alongside a noted 46 percent staff reduction over 10 years across the company. Separate from the layoffs, a lawsuit filed by former Alt 98.7 morning co host Renae Ravey alleges age discrimination against show host Jeff Fife minus Woody minus which iHeart and Fife have not commented on.

Ingersoll Rand Industrial U.S. Inc, known locally as Gardner Denver, filed an Illinois WARN notice indicating around 70 layoffs at its North Euclid Avenue facility in Princeton. The first layoff date in the filing is March 2026. The company manufactures compressors, blowers, and vacuum pumps. Local outlet 103.9 WLPO reports it has requested additional details from the company.
Buckeye Ranch plans to lay off 66 employees by December 1 after Franklin County Children Services chose not to renew its contract with the Permanent Family Solutions Network, which ends December 31. FCCS described the move as a strategic shift to serve families directly, not a reflection on Buckeye Ranch’s work quality. The organization is pursuing internal transfers and some staff have applied to FCCS or elsewhere. The layoffs affect only the PFSN program, while all other behavioral health and child welfare programs remain operational.

I heard 6-10 attorneys were fired or laid off Friday

The better job you do, the faster you’re out the door? With special “consideration” for anyone 50+? Probably the usual cr-p. Makes you wonder why we even bother.
The so-called International Leadership Team will be firing 2/3 of the Geneva employees (about 40 peoples) over the next months, including all the Engineering team, as a restructuring of the EMEA activities. Ongoing and Future Engineering activities should be moved the Spain site and most likely heavily subcontracted.
