Consistent Layoffs with Inconsistent Leadership

YETI now has a track record of annual layoffs around the February timeframe in the hopes of propping up the stock price, along with a revolving door of leadership for those unable to constantly be a "yes" person for a CEO, who has a constant fear of losing control while repeatedly implementing negatively disruptive changes and holding others to account for those decisions.

Is there any hiring going on at T-Mobile right now?

I’ve been job hunting for the last 6 months and nothing solid has materialized. Even contracts are scarce in Atlanta for the dev market.

I’m looking for a job and I know there’s been cuts and more work on the employees but I don’t care because I’m desperate. I’m very close to considering the end of everything after 39 years on this miserable rock 🪨

What Gets Ignored vs What Gets Noticed — Real Issues at Belk, But the ‘Doom’ Talk Isn’t Helping

There are legitimate, known concerns about how the company is being run—especially with investors focused on squeezing profitability. That part is real, and employees feel it every day.

I’ve been at Belk a long time. I’ve seen it at its best—and now I’m seeing it at its worst.

I want the company to survive, but I’m not going to pretend the current decisions aren’t damaging its reputation.

But turning every conversation into “the sky is falling” doesn’t make it more true. It just makes it harder to have a real, useful conversation. You can even see it in the voting—neutral or positive comments get buried, while the most negative ones get pushed to the top.

And let’s be honest—there’s a good chance people on the corporate side, and even investors, read sites like this to get a sense of what’s happening at store level. Some comments probably get attention and spark real conversations. Others get ignored because they read like venting instead of something worth acting on.

At a certain point, it becomes predictable. You can walk into a store and spot that same negativity within minutes—the groups standing around, the constant complaining, the lack of focus. And it wouldn’t be surprising if that same tone carries over into conversations with customers.

At the same time, Belk is putting millions into revamping the Rewards+ program. That alone should tell you this isn’t some “Belk is about to close any day now” situation.

Where it falls apart is everything happening alongside that—cutting hours during peak times, pushing associates to chase perfect NPS scores, things like that. It makes it a lot harder for any of these investments to actually work.

The bigger issue is who’s really in control. When investors are driving everything, the focus turns into short-term results at all costs. And right now, it’s hard to see how that shifts enough to stop it from hurting the business long term.

Layoffs happening today 3/27

Several on my team received invites for 10am call today - no agenda. Peer was informed a few teams are moving offshore. They are only keeping a few leaders on a few more weeks to shift the work to OGS. WHY is this continuing to happen??? How can so many people keep losing their jobs? The ‘new’ jobs posted online are bogus & aren’t being filled. Don’t waste your time applying. It’s all smoke & mirrors. SMDH

Big Price Increase in April 2026 for over 1.5 million customers

Company lost so many customers that revenue took a significant hit. As such in April 2026 they will be raising prices for over 1.5 million customers to squeeze more revenue out of them. Prediction, it pi---s more customers off and accelerates the customer exodus to competitors.

Layoffs

It is my understanding that the company is planning to lay off a significant number of employees who are directly responsible for day-to-day execution. In light of this, it would be advisable to also evaluate the structure and effectiveness of the senior management team.

A thorough assessment of management layers and their contribution to operational efficiency may help identify meaningful cost-saving opportunities. In some instances, organizations develop multiple layers of leadership that are not closely aligned with core business functions, which can introduce inefficiencies. Additionally, certain senior-level appointments made under prior leadership may warrant review to ensure alignment with current organizational needs and performance expectations.

It is also important to evaluate whether the addition of high-ranking, high-cost roles is delivering the intended improvements in efficiency and execution. A balanced approach that considers both leadership structure and frontline resources is critical to sustaining operational effectiveness.

From a customer perspective, there are growing concerns regarding execution timelines. Based on ongoing engagement with financial institutions across both the East and West Coasts, a consistent theme is that projects are taking longer than expected to launch. This may reflect an overreliance on layered management and delegation, rather than a streamlined, execution-focused approach.

Given the competitive landscape, these concerns are increasingly significant. Industry discussions indicate that organizations are actively evaluating alternative providers, making it essential to address efficiency, accountability, and delivery performance to maintain strong client relationships l,

Don’t be fooled

Just because we were spared this time doesn’t mean we are out of the clear. Once this WB + Paramount merger happens we are ALL on the chopping block. This can’t be helped. Allow yourself to breathe a sigh of relief then start looking again. The battle has been won but the war rages on.

Clearly, David had no idea how widespread our network is and how crucial some remote workers are. Like literally frameworks, codebases, etc would fail overnight. This gives leadership some time to figure out Plan B.

Plan B will be what will happen in 2027. Buckle up.

That’s the Spirit

Lowe’s delivers appliance in Region 6 with a third party disaster known as Spirit. Nothing but a bunch of illegals that are apathetic, lazy pos, that play the language barrier card when they damage your appliances, floors, walls, doorways etc. They show up late, unprepared and untrained. Corporate Lowes doesn’t give a rats a-s about complaints, as long as they save paying in house drivers a decent wage and benefits. Everyone needs to purchase elsewhere. Fck Lowes!
