What’s with the push to have the end of year reviews entered in September? Are they looking to layoff again? Doesn’t make sense we still have two months to count as part of our end of year progress?!

That's not always been the truth, but it certainly is now. You're a line item. If they get rid of you, there's always someone else who will take your spot for less money. It doesn't matter how hard you work or how much you know. There's always somebody cheaper.

Another layoff day today to start off the month but so far it's been quiet. Anyone hearing a big wave coming later in September/October? I've heard whispers that certain groups will be impacted in Q4. Let's wait and see.

Just got out of a meeting with our ED, her exact quote “after a thorough review of everyday business, the business decision was made to eliminate the roles of your manager and lead.”

A few of my friends/ coworkers are leaving the company instead of relocating. I’m sad to lose great people. We did big things together and am close friends with many. I respect their choices and wish them well.
Hard to expect people to uproot their families when more layoffs in Houston are expected.

Anyone hear about layoffs later this year? Someone on my team with connections said there will likely be layoffs in December/January depending on how many people quit with the November RTO mandate. The wish from the top is many people quit instead of return.

Plot twist is the layoffs would not just be in Minnesota, but elsewhere as we continue to wind down presence in various locations.

I don’t think a U.S. layoff on 9/1 is very likely based on the previous round.

For the 3/31 U.S. layoff, if I remember correctly, Canada was around 3/25 as well. Mexico also had layoffs around that time people received 1:1 invites on 3/24 and were laid off on 3/25. You can check not-mdc-social for the record.

Based on that pattern, I would have expected to see at least some signs or meeting invites by now if a 9/1 U.S. layoff were happening.

If you think they would make a mistake like that and that you’d somehow know upfront that you were going to be terminated ,you’re crazy. Do you really think they would make an error like this ? they've been doing it for years

Even if they layoff 15% of the company 85% will still have jobs. The big problem is that they keep doing it. If the end state is to be under 90K as someone posted earlier than this will happen 3-4 more times by 2028.

I know my manager is an id--t but what kind of a heartless monster do you have to be to schedule a 1:1 titled update with somebody on a layoff day??? Related to something that isn't even all that urgent? I'm so, so angry now I can't even think properly. Yes, I'm relieved but I genuinely thought I was getting cut. I nearly threw up.
