If it was about lean and mean and cost cutting, why are there so many contractors? In 2018, they said the ratios of FTE to contractors is very bad so they will hire more full time. Fast forward, contractors have multiplied but FTE roles haven't grown proportionately. Wonder why they are OK spending so much on external talent while the FTEs are few and are swamped always. Have seen team sizes just multiply in some areas and there are like 50+ contractors in one team. A team used to be around 16 is easily a ove 50 since covid. What's the deal? Why dont they hire more FTE and build internal knowledge? Does Trump know these stats?

Budgets are shot due to the acquisition of Altruist. Some organizations are cutting budgets sharply going into 2027 especially in various engineering organizations. Expects impacts to contractors at a minimum.

After "successful" rollout of ODW and "well tested" SDD framework making Dell engineers redundant, a big WFR coming up under Rob Mason's org starting from Sept and will go on till Jan end. Though what I heard is for Rob Mason, the whole of Dell IT will be affected as they are planning to cut 40% of jobs over 3 major waves: Sept->Nov->Jan. Sept and Nov cuts might be light and planned by senior leaders and managers, the Jan will be a "bloodbath" according to the words of some senior leaders and even they don't know who would be let go in Jan. Contractors will be heavily affected but permanent employees won't be spared as well.

Rumors flying that poor business performance has the 2026 MIP set at 50% and a sunset of MIP for band 4 engineers planned for 2027. Management and band 5 retain MIP. This would put Honeywell dead last in pay among all defense contractors.

I’m hearing that we have another round of layoff in FI Technology. Somewhere around in Sep or year ending. This time only for contractors. Is it true and real ?

It is funny after being laid off since last may ,I got a recruiter call for a RF/SP position with Vz on W2 salary of 38/hr non negotiable (no benefit) lol.. I am so saddened.

And they asking for all scripting experience on top of all RF/SP experience . its brutal everyone. stick to your Vz job like your life depends on it.

Since when did they start making hourly employees do the KOF? I thought it was only for the salary positions.
