I read there is high interest in BP's NS assets. I imagine that everyone wants to expedite the sale, especially the affected employees. It will be very beneficial to work for a company that values the assets and employees and considers them a core asset rather than small legacy asset. Alaska has thrived after BP's sale.

Leadership is all moving out of retail.

Just heard from a colleague, that some of the stores that were divested in the last year are underperforming from a contractual standpoint, specifically BeMobiles in the northeast (was called out specifically, apparently they haven’t been able to prove that they can scale with their business model) and that at the end of the year the 1 year contracts they signed on with are being looked at. Sounds like Cellular Sales and TCC are front runners to take over most locations in northeast.

All the major tailings projects and others are well are being pushed to be completed by mid 2027. Also, it's a lot of cost to move the control room to Edmonton due to fiber cost and they haven't even started it yet. This is very clear that the want to sell the asset.

Just wondering what's the plan once they sell the asset will the employees who moved to Edmonton be laid off? as the new company possibly CNRL or Suncor employees will handle the upstream asset.

Layoffs will start 6am on Monday by email. Approx. 11,000 employees. No change in severance from last round. No garden leave- effective immediately. Retroactive WARN notices. Remember WARN also doesn’t apply to remote workers. A similar sized layoff in March. Nearly all teams are expected to solidify AI development processes even further. Teams will begin to transition to big picture small headcount silos. This will begin the shift and divestment from resources abroad to a smaller Oracle <90,000 employees by 2028

In the past 6 months many people have been laid off, including some of our best leaders. We’re seriously understaffed now. Also, there is NO investment in this business and our IT portfolio has been cut to the bone. I never hear Sean C. even talk about Dental and he doesn’t seem to meet with Dental team members. I’m not even sure who’s really in charge now. There are no signs of real leadership anymore and the communication is terrible.

This used to be a great, highly profitable business with great employees. But it’s a pathetic shell of that now. This all makes me wonder if it is being stripped down in preparation for being sold, like IFP, Medicare and (soon) EviCore. Am I missing something?

This company is the worst ever. They have no clue what they are doing. SMBC is for sale, probably sold already. Just let us go already. I'm not giving in though; they are going to pay me severance. Treating people like sh!t is going to work, and they aren't going to voluntarily leave.

We sold a significant amount of doors to the agents... The good news is, those employees will have a job. I’m told we’re keeping a thousand corporate doors and that my team and I are safe for at least 3 years, do we trust that? Looks like operations took a significant hit, who is going to do that work?

Overall, I feel lucky, but feel awful for anyone who is impacted.

July 16 (Reuters) - U.S. wireless carrier Verizon (VZ.N), opens new tab said on Thursday it will sell 274 company-owned retail locations ​and cut about 500 corporate jobs as part of its ‌restructuring.

The moves will affect about 3,000 retail and corporate employees. Verizon will own 1,000 stores after the sale, effective August 16. Verizon eliminated several hundred jobs in ​May after announcing in November it was cutting more than ​13,000 jobs in its largest single round of layoffs.
