Does anyone know what is going to happen to the new grads that are supposed to start next Spring?
Get ready. I was told by a VP level Sales executive that HPE will be doing a WFR again in January..

With all the changes the new leadership over P & C claims are implementing across all of p&c they will never get these claim jobs moved into the hubs. Not Injury, not TL, not fire, not Sub, not Property. There is to much for new hires to learn and retain, they will not stay. What we have in the hubs now cannot do the work. We will work from home forever or until they make us miserable enough to quit.
Checking in — are there any additional layoffs happening today, or was everything supposed to be finalized yesterday? Haven’t heard anything from leadership.
@"the men and women who built this into a once great company."
Seriously, Verizon was NEVER a "Great" company. They never invented any groundbreaking technologies nor created any new markets nor set any significant business or technology trends.
Verizon (Bell Atlantic & Nynex) was spawned from AT&T (AKA, "Ma Bell") and grew primarily thru acquisitions (GTE, Alltel, MCI and potentially Frontier). Yes, they built out an excellent network but their real success come from leveraging sheer mass scale.
AT&T and IBM would be examples of truly great companies. Verizon is an "also ran" company who's day in the sun is fading because it ignored it's customers.
I’m wondering…
How does he feel about his nickname? Dan the Hatchet Man? I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually likes it.
How does it feel to cause such intense pain and misery to 13,000 individuals, multipled by 3 or 5 when you take into account, the family members of those who have been laid off?
This company is terrible. Would not recommend!
Terrible decisions from Lowell started this spiral, then they bring in Hans who made very poor decisions with Ericsson and big shocker history repeated itself at Verizon. I literally remember the day he was named as CEO, fellow co workers talking about his track record at scratching their heads on why he was named....and the kicker....the new CEO was on the board of directors when they picked Hans. So all the cr-ppy decisions he made can all tie back to the board and their awful decision to bring him on. So now a member of that cr-ppy board of directors is now the CEO and employees and investors are supposed to have some kind of hope in that? I cant believe what this once wonderful company has turned into. All these frontline workers who bust their butts and care about the customers are just tossed to the curb...DURING THE HOLIDAYS. Very heartless. Just think about it...axing 13k individuals in hopes that that news would drive up stock price by a few pennies. Very very sick game they are playing. I left back in 2023 and couldnt be happier. It was so scary and stressful when it happened to me and my heart goes out to those effected. Its so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know the job market now is much worse than it was in 2023. I genuinely hope you all land on your feet...and soon.
Reports last week was 15K, actual number was 13k. Is it possible there will be no more major layoffs for 2026 at VZ?
We get rid of a DEI hire and put someone equally as worthless in the spot
I have no experience in running a small company, let alone a big one. I can think of a strategy to fire employees to save money and show increased profits to raise share price.
The current ceo with so much experience is coming up with the same strategy to compete with T-Mobile and AT&T!!
I see no future for Verizon. If you get RIFed, think positive and look for a better company.. consider it x years wasted on a company run by people who have no vision.
If you don’t get RIFed, take this as a wake up call to jump ship because it’s sinking.
There is no VTeam feel anymore here. With so much uncertainty, unrealistic deadlines, there is no dignity nor recognition of the hard work done. Simply blackmail tactics.
Do we know the total layoff count as of yesterday? Was it 13k or with more to add to today’s count? Is it over?
Seems no changes to VZI yesterday. What’s happening from that front? Anyone know Dan’s POV on outsourcing?
I can tell you from my experience that the onshore GTS developers are far more productive and skilled, but you can get 4 offshore for the price of 1 onshore.
So Dan laid off 13,000 people yesterday, 2,000 short of the 15K total we've all been hearing about for the last few weeks.
I'm hearing rumors from several sources that they plan to sell off Vz International (to BT) in April next year. Will the remaining 2,000 heads be from there do we think?
Only 9 Senior Leaders listed in the email sent out by VCG CEO…?
Is the “significant organizational change” in the room with us? There was more than 9 RIF’ed on my 50 person team.
What a scam this “new” leadership is
Feel sorry for people that were RIFed.
Speaking of VCG as well as others, for the people still around, do we know when the re-orgs will take place and what they will look like?
Hi, haven't been here for a year. Was declared obsolete 2 years ago. Just wonder how much the employee count is these days, and how many of these are effectively and actively working ...
Someone I work with, a friend, was told today is last day.
Can’t they just reduce everyone’s salary instead of layoffs like some cultures do?
What work groups were impacted by the layoffs?
Funny how Dan S couldn’t wait to send his email to lay 13k people off. Sent it at 7 am. Well it’s 8 am the next day and we still don’t know which execs, vps, sds and ads got laid off. He laid off all the people that do the actual work but kept all the people who just go to meetings to wag their fingers. Good luck turning this company around with people who don’t want to do a lick of work
Looking at the FIS quarterly report, FIS has paid out $205 million in severance this year compared to $34 million for the same period last year. Also there is a comment, "The Company continues to evaluate its organizational structure and expects to
incur additional severance costs in the fourth quarter of 2025." I wonder how many people that equates to?
There is no offer for vacation time?
Now because Plano is going to close. They threw out a fig leaf. They want to keep flagship open..Taxpayers already bailed it out.
Hope the city council doesn't give more money to this debt ridden company . While legitimate things could occur...I know Nordstrom would never do such and I support them. Even if their stuff is tame. Bloomingdales is looking at this market as ripe besides panned store in Frisco.
Honest question:
Why is Nike now following trends and not setting them as they used to?
I see many of the completion shoe styles replicated by Nike designers across running and basketball. Apparel as well.
Let’s share actual DATA (no spamming) so it helps all of us!
Use the following template to report any company wide layoffs-
Office location-division- number of people- roles- onsite/remote/hybrid
No spamming pls🙏
Have any teams begun laying off contractors this week?
The new CEO literally came in and said there would be layoffs. He literally said around 15,000 would be laid off.
If you thought it wouldn’t have been you, you are living under a rock.
Read the comments. So many posts about how it’s heartless to do a mass layoff right before the holidays … and how this isn’t the right strategy

How can we pay bills when the entire top level executives are settled for life. Verizon had a bad culture. Fix it in tech work. No calls after 5 . I see people are crying and I knew they worked really really hard.
Just give a like so it’ll be viewed. Companies now know to take care of themselves.
VZ used to be a proud company... with a clear identity has turned into a hollow shell that's just bleeding subscribers while charging premium prices for sh---y service.
We're basically watching the Sprint playbook all over again - gradual decline, pieces of the business getting sold off, and a CEO who's more interested in appeasing Wall Street than actually fixing what's broken. Schullman sat on the board for 7 years as lead director while big H drove VZ company into the ground, and now he's suddenly the savior?
His track record speaks for itself -- fu---d Virgin Mobile, PayPal stock tanking 70% under his watch, should be expect different here??? sure, he'll turn us around this time.
And... hypocrisy of it all... We spent $50B on 5G spectrum that doesn't even provide decent coverage, bought fu---d piece of junk Frontier for $20B cause apparently we need fiber after Lowell ki-led our FiOS buildout years ago (we could've had 25 million fiber subs by now) and somhow the solution is cutting 13K jobs??? And increasing exec pay for this gem of a strategy????
All this is happenin while T-Mobile is eating our lunch because they actually invest in customer experience instead of just slashing costs.
The writing's on the wall this restructuring is just sh---y code for a slow death spiral with quarterly RIFs becoming the new normal (there is a thread on this).
Mark my words, we're looking at another 5% cuts per quarter with jobs shipped offshore while leadership pats themselves on the back.
Everyone has a lot to say on here, this is your opportunity to try to force GM to address it. Yes they convert every question to a softball version but if enough people are asking the same questions they’ll have to at least speak to it.
Submit questions in the Slido for the global town hall with GM on Dec 2. You can also upvote other people’s questions.
Nasrin laid off a bunch of cyber sec workers in a Group Webex this morning. Way to keep it classy.
OMG- I’m about to go insane. Why is our system so slow?! This is ridiculously unproductive. What is wrong with her outlook? Why does it take 13 years to set up/open/send an invite? This has been going on for years and it’s so unacceptable at this point. I’m not understanding why the company can’t get this fixed.
Lost our Director, Area Manager and Supervisor today... Not a good day at Verizon.
Which one of you brought down the VPN!?
Anyone hear anything about VCG positions. Care- Case Management- Social Media- E.R.T or Pact?

numero uno, today, again.
probably the biggest business news of the day.
it's a sad throne that we occupy right now
