Somebody struck a nerve

You will always know when a post has hit a little too close to home and has said more than Verizon wants you to know.

The employees paid to post disinformation are just an annoyance like that gnat that wants to fly up your nose while you're flipping a burger on the grill.

Then there is the downvote brigade. They will downvote every comment that is negative against Verizon as fast as they can. I have watched downvotes roll down the screen in real time across multiple posts that racked up four or five votes per post in less than a minute. As if somebody sent a text with a link asking for back up.

If the post is particularly accurate and informative the downvote brigade will flood both positive and negative posts with downloads. I saw one thread get annihilated with about 10+ downvotes per post within a short amount of time. If that's only one person, that's impressive.

If the post is uncomfortably accurate, which must have recently happened, the downvote brigade becomes the nonsense brigade. Trying to hide the posts under downvotes won't work. So suddenly the threads get overwhelmed with nonsensical posts that have no point and go nowhere. There is so much mess that you are more likely to avoid reading any posts in that thread.

Then tapping older safe threads with a nonsense post resorts the "active" so older posts get put at the top and the one they want to hide get slowly moved down the line. It's absolutely diabolical. Imagine if they put that much work and enthusiasm into making Verizon better.

Whenever I have dug in and found the thread with the most mess, I pick it apart and there's always at least one post with a legit and important message. And usually I start hearing that message in the news a few days or a week later.

Recognize the nonsense for what it is and use it to your advantage to stay informed.

Or not. You do you.

port out party

lets all do kegstands. today im moving my family’s lines including in-laws to prepaid owned directly by tmobile or at&t.

unlike most company workers, verizon employees can hurt the performance of their company by choosing not to do business with verizon. humiliate verizon by promoting competitors on social media.

We are #1

A quick search asking which companies on Layoff.com has the most activity….. these are the results. Not sure if this says more about the company or its employees.

  1. AT&T
  2. Accenture
  3. Bank of America
  4. Amazon
  5. Comcast
  6. Cisco
  7. Cognizant
  8. Dell
  9. Microsoft
  10. Wells Fargo

All the LI Activity - bragging, announcing the New Opentext, BIG pay increases

The SLT received HUGE comp increases for the new opentext and many are on LI announcing their promotions and sharing endlessly about their many accomplishments. Others are publicly talking about the new GTM model , clearly excited about their new raises, and some about their company paid I'm sure relocations.

It is stunning because ALL of these people have failed in their previous roles. Meanwhile, many employees announcing their entire teams were let go, the very people who were doing what they could.

There has to be some massive incentives on the table for the ELT around results in addition to their new larger salaries. It's as if they are giddy in their LI posts.

Also, completely inappropriate and poor business sense. LI is not intended for bragging. Oh, and none of them have any significant writing skills.

OpenText looks so foolish right now on LI. A company this size should have a coordinated LI plan.

Did anyone else see this on Facebook?

SAS is having an event for retirees, weeks after the company-wide celebration, to which we were not invited. Much of the success of SAS is due to the great work of retirees. If we come to said event, we have to pay for our own lunch! Seriously!?! We get to listen to stuff about the latest stuff that ki-led the goose that laid the golden egg, and after all we did, they won't even spring for lunch for us?!? In contrast, there is a mid-October event, independent of SAS, for retirees. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2885607674835420/posts/27527959706840208 I think I will attend the latter. Hope to see you there. I'm sure SAS only cares about the present and the unfortunately bleak future, but shouldn't they have some respect for those that contributed to their early success?

My Plan (Leadership Pay Attention)

Here's how people can push back against this.

If layoffs start happening, and I'm one of the people affected, I fully intend to create a presence on YouTube, Rumble, and TikTok focused on the layoffs at Centene and the broader issues with how the company is being managed.

I'd invite former employees to share their experiences (I am sure I can came right here to get folks to speak out) —what it was like working there, how the layoffs were handled, and examples of poor leadership and mismanagement. If I end up getting laid off, keep an eye out for it. Also if I don't get lay'd off please feel free to use my idea!

The reality is that when enough current and former employees speak openly about their experiences, it creates public accountability. Companies pay attention when their reputation, recruiting efforts, and public image are affected.

We've seen major brands take hits when unpopular decisions became public and consumers pushed back (Bud Light and Gillette). The same principle applies here. It's especially relevant when a company benefits from federal and state subsidies while making decisions that negatively impact its workforce.

There was a time when employees had very little ability to challenge this kind of behavior. Today, that's changed. Social media and online platforms give people the ability to share information, compare experiences, and bring issues into the public spotlight.

When enough people tell their stories, it becomes much harder for leadership to ignore what's happening behind closed doors.

Too political

This site has become nothing what it was intended to be. Stop with the politics and your “ever so important” and “only you are right” views. It’s a board about employment and layoffs. Can we focus and stop being so childish please? Anyone?? What have you heard? Who should be concerned about their jobs etc…? That is what this is here for people. You’re filling it up with nonsense trying to cause political debates that will never be solved here. It’s not an outlet for your frustrations. Let’s be grown up professionals.
