Truly sad how incompetent the middle management is here at Oracle. Especially in the US Government / Education space. Also quite spineless that the layoff is communicated via email - true leadership at its best!

I was so happy when I joined Oracle five years ago, thinking I've found my long term career. Today was a brutal reminder how untrue that was and how temporary that security really was. I'm now jobless and disillusioned - not a good combination.

"Oracle's severance package appears less generous than those offered by its Big Tech peers." Even the media is picking up on this.

I thought that's one of the main reasons for cuts: show investors that you're cutting costs, insuring more profit in the future. So what went wrong? Are layoffs suddenly no longer the magic move that fixes everything for those on top?

First, my thoughts for everyone impacted. Very hard to lose so many brilliant teammates. Everyone is saying this company is a sinking ship but is it really worse than searching for a job in this competative market?
