Is anybody surprised by this?
Target’s latest bid to win back shoppers is leaving customers and workers deeply uncomfortable.
The retail giant rolled out a new in-store rule late last year requiring employees to smile, wave and greet customers based on how close they are standing.
The policy, internally dubbed the “10-4” program, has triggered backlash online from shoppers who say the forced cheer feels awkward and invasive.

Why are some people allowed to break the rules?
I know a few folks who are still working from home all five days with zero consequences. What makes them so special? Why do we have to honor the official mandate and they don't?
Unused PTO
I am really surprised no one is talking about loosing their unused PTO. I cant believe CC get away with this. PTO is something that is accrued (earned). How can they get away with not paying that out at the time of termination? Unless of course the state you live in has a law that says CC must pay it out. As far as I know, PA doesn't have such a law.
Dress Code Changes
Is it true that we’re going to be required to wear suits and ties? I noticed this week that there were a lot more people wearing suits this week.
don't get sick
Public sector employees were told on Monday "don't get sick, don't take care giver days, don't take bereavement days, especially don't need surgery that will require an extended absense. Basically just work anyway.". Apparently they need to maximize charging to every contract and any illness by yourself, your family, or even death in the family minimizes the ability to charge a contract. And if you are so sick that you can't come in, were told to work weekends to make up the time. People were given a target of number of hours to charge in the year and it was basically calculated to be the total work hours in a year subtracted by your allotted vacation hours.
Also were told that if you do actually take too many sick days or caregiver days, your manager will be notified because they'll assume you really could have worked anyway.
That's on top of the other things the rest of the company is doing to make time spent in the office horrible (no assigned desks, etc). Apparently HR has no problem with this policy or was too weak to contest it being presented.
Does snow day count as in-office?
Since people working in Charlotte were told to work from home Monday, does that count as one of our in office days? I had appointments scheduled midday Thursday and Friday since I was planned to work from home and there's no way I can make 8 hours in office those days.
Relocation Terms
For those that were offered relocation, what were the terms?
How long between relocation acceptance and requirement to show up at new location?
Assume you didn’t actually have to move your residence, correct?
How long do you have to stay with Wells Fargo post relocation?
If you don’t stay the required time, is the payback of relocation $ prorated or is it 100%?
(No need to share $ amounts)
Where did severance policy go?
Any clue where the “severance policy” went? There used to be a laid out plan of what that looks like and now it seems like there are updates to the HR policies, but none that layout the specifics.
New Comp Plan - what do you like/dislike?
Interested to know everyone's opinion of the new comp plan.
Call out the specifics you dislike.
5 Days in Office
Potential employee here. I know 5 days per week in office is the official policy, but is it actually enforced across 100% of teams? I know a lot of similar companies have RTO policies on paper, but they aren't policed. Thanks in advance;
Bereavement
Could someone please clarify which specific relatives qualify for bereavement leave under the policy? How much time can I take? Where do I find it?
Franco reviewing WFH requests
Every WFH request has to be reviewed now and approved by our CEO himself. Little baby Lord Farqaad throwing a tantrum because his servants didn’t want to risk their lives coming into the office. Heard there were multiple injuries be they didn’t bother to treat the parking lots. Pathetic.
600+ laidoff after stopping PTO Rollover
Signed agreement in August not to sue company.
In Nov 2025 HR suddenly stopped PTO Rollover.
Jan 30th 2026 laidoff 600+ software engineer s across USA.
Heartbreaking! SE Andover never hired any engineer during covid.
RTO question for a non IBM guy
Hi all
I don't work in IBM but an ex IBM guy is taking over where I work and RTO has been announced
Just wondering is it enforced at IBM ? Is there a min number of hours on site or can you just leave whenever
Thanks
Leg T CWA TA
Why would anyone vote no to ratify the Leg T CWA TA? It looks really good for all of us in it.
Newby here- What are Connect Weeks?
Are they just weeks you’re required to go to office? What if no one on your team lives in the same state as you?
Newby here- what are connect weeks?
Saw a comment on a different post about “connect weeks” schedule being posted…. What’s that?
Are those weeks when you’re expected to come into the office? I assume where most if not all meetings are through Zoom?
Or is it Forced socializing?
WHOSE WITH ME
heading to market basket than to get gas with out punching out , when i get back maybe play some solitaire on the company website , their go Onsemi go look at everyones company computer do a search lol. oh boy what u will find
Can management block/prevent you from transferring to a different team?
Looking to apply to another team internally but wondering if I don’t have any backup if management would prevent me from being transferred over.
Will Monday Jan 26 be exempted from in office reporting?
Most ppl impacted by snow received an email on Monday Jan 26 that in office policy will be relaxed this week..... Only to receive another email that in office policy is back in full effect starting Today Tuesday Jan 27.
So will Monday Jan 26 be exempted from in office reporting? Will we only have to go into office 2 days this week instead of 3?
Winter Weather
Just a quick rant….why in all that is holy do we have to wait for management, who does not live in a location where they are dealing with ongoing below freezing temperatures and lasting impacts of the winder storm that hit this past weekend, to “allow” us to WFH
Why won’t a team manager who is onsite just say I am the manager on site and the conditions are still bad so I’m going to let my team WFH.
Just sad…..
CSBBO location strategy update email
As part of our multi-year strategy, we have made the decision to exit previous target locations over the next few years. Non-target markets include:
• Wilmington, Delaware
• St. Louis, Missouri
• New York, New York
• Salt Lake City, Utah
• Raleigh, North Carolina
• San Francisco, California (including Concord)
• Chicago, Illinois
If you are not in one of our target locations, please know that there are no immediate changes to your day-to-day responsibilities or where you work-business will continue as usual as we work through this multi-year journey.
Reduction in severance package policy
I have it on good authority that they are working with a management consulting firm to revise the severance package policy. They won't change the 2 weeks of pay per year of service, however it won't start increasing until year 5. This is due to the 60 day notice period. Everyone at 4 years or less will get 2 months of severance, regardless of tenure before accumulating more starting on year 5.
Essentially what they're doing is eliminating the overlap with the 60 day notice.
Hybrid Policy for non-directors
Does anyone know how many days per month those who are below Director level are meant to be in office? I’ve heard 4 and I’ve heard 3 days per month. Also any insight on hour requirements per visit? Thank you.
What happens remotes over 31 miles
So remotes within the radius will be RTO before Jan 2027
What about remotes over the 31 miles ?
Halfway There commercials
Aired today during the NFL championship games. Suppose to be funny of preparing policy holders for how claims are being handled?
Non-Compete notice
Did anyone else in CA get a letter regarding a non-compete policy being invalid.
Are notice periods based on calendar days or business days?
I'm at a VP position so I am required to give a 30 day notice period. Would this be:
~1 month notice (which is ~30 calendar days)
OR
~6 weeks notice (based on 5 business days per week for 6 weeks).
RTO 4 roles?
I remember when they announced the shift to 4 days in office, they said they would review individual roles and let us know in January which are confirmed as 4 days in office, which would stay 2 days in office and a select few that would be remote. Anyone been officially notified?
MN people, are they still forcing you to to go 3 days a week
I am in OR hub, but if I am in MN hub, no way I am going to in.
Have they send out emails this month to nit go into office till the chaos dies down?
Will we get an email on Monday telling us to go in if we can?
Clarification needed for Teammates w/5 day in office requirement
For teammates that are required to be in office 5 days a week for work, are they required to work from home when inclement weather prohibits them from getting to the office? It would seem if in office teammates are unable to effectively collaborate with a Champion Mindset and build better lives and communities unless onsite, there is no need for them to worry about work if they can't get to the office.
Living your designation, unless weather won't allow, then we NEED you to work from home.
Great news, team!
After months of being told that our jobs absolutely require us to be in the office five days a week, we’ve now discovered a groundbreaking truth: remote work magically becomes possible the moment a storm named Fern shows up.
To keep things consistent with the company’s logic, I propose a simple standard:
- If we can physically get to the office: we work.
- If we can’t: that’s a company problem, not an employee problem.
- And since remote work “isn’t viable,” we obviously won’t be doing any work from home.
After all, if flexibility only exists when it benefits the company, then employees should follow the same rule. No work from home. No exceptions. Just honoring the policy, we were told was non‑negotiable.
FAKE NEWS, as usual.
Agent provocateurs get on here and incite fear every damn month. They probably don't even work here. This is why corporate should have a policy of transparency about upcoming layoffs.
RT-O SH*T
If you're actually in OT
New HR page, but no email yet.
4 days march

One Way to Keep Customers from Leaving
Verizon’s prepaid services add a 365-day wait to unlock phones
The Verge by Emma Roth, January 21, 2026
Verizon is extending the phone unlocking period for its sub-brands – including Visible, TracFone, Straight Talk and Total Wireless – to 365 days of paid service. Phones purchased before January 20 will still unlock after 60 days.
RTO policy for non exempt
What is RTO policy for non exempt employees? We don’t have access to the average hours dashboard, do we still have to RTO 5 days?
RTO - the real story
Yes, a new Office First policy will be announced.
No, not every employee will be mandated back to an office.
Yes, employees currently assigned as hybrid office based will be required to work from that office each day. No more 3 day schedule. This will happen over a few months.
Yes, if you are currently a virtual employee (meaning that your HR profile which you can access on Talent Central has you listed as virtual), AND your home address is within 31 miles of an OT office, you will be reassigned as an office employee and will be required to work from your assigned office every day. These employees will be given several months before they have to begin working from the office.
Yes, this applies to ALL employees in the US who live within that distance to an office, other than customer facing sales.
No, employees in countries with council will not immediately have to comply. OT is negotiating with these councils.
Pune/Chennai - How does the 4 days working together rules actually work?
How does the HR calculation work?
Is it considered only 4 days every week or can we do all 16 days together and get 4 days WFH in last week ?
How does it work in other locations ?
