Interviewing @Elevance... What are your thoughts on it? What are the pros and cons, and are there any hidden downsides to watch out for? It sounds almost too good to be true.

Every time you get an email about a re-organization, you can expect layoffs to follow. This will continue under our current CEO. It’s a way to distract and perform for the board with dismal earnings. Some advice: understand and use AI, you are marked if you don’t; speak up in meetings or you are marked if you don’t; take extra training and courses offered, you are marked if you don’t; if you have unlimited PTO, don’t overuse it, you are marked if you do.

What do you guys think about it? Pros and Cons? Gotchas?

Any idea why they advertise “unlimited” paid time off but make it nearly impossible to use it? I came here from a prime, where I had more accrued PTO, which I could actually take, even though it wasn’t labeled “unlimited.” Here, I get much more pushback and scrutiny whenever I try to take time off. Really wish I hadn’t made the move.

Nobody I know feels comfortable actually using it because you never see anyone else take time. This might be specific to my area, but I highly doubt it. In the end, it ends up being worse than having a set number of days. I'm tired of pretending this is some great benefit.

Vacation policy updated effective 1/1/26. Xerox going to the dreaded unlimited* time off policy.

• Absolutely limited and now we don't have to payout unused vacation time upon severance or overworking you.

If anyone hasn’t noticed yet, leave allotments in workday now have a “approved bank” amount where it looks like it’s being propped for an accrued PTO type of situation. Rumor is that other benefit changes, such as our unlimited PTO and overall flexibility is going to change for the worse.

Why? So many great jobs that have none of this BS. I got laid off a year ago. It was the best thing that could happen to me. Landed a job six weeks later with better pay, benefits and truly unlimited PTO. You’re better than this. Go!

Anyone else hear rumors that unlimited PTO is going away next year?
