North Star Health Alliance Plans Management Layoffs in New York

North Star Health Alliance announced plans to eliminate about 120 positions in New York, with management roles most affected. The layoffs follow the loss of state funding in December after New York officials said the organization failed to provide sufficient spending details.

North Star disputes the claim, saying it has been transparent and is seeking continued state support. The job cuts will also affect some clinical and non-clinical staff.

When did the scrum master layoff talk start?

Got laid off as a software engineer in 2024. Found a good life after fidelity.

Just wondering where all the talk about scrum masters getting laid off came from. I heard the Spotify agile model is getting done away with (not just because of the last post).

But how much of that talk is actual truth? If true, then what’s the percentage of scrum masters at fidelity that we are expecting to get laid off?

Anybody have the actual numbers left to layoff?

I remember when this first started ppl had very specific number counts. I guess we are at 9,000 left to lay off for 2026. Can anyone give an insight as to how many of those 9,000 left will come out of divestures and how many will come out of actual reduction of employees and how that number is different from normal years low performers reduction?

Honeywelll Raleigh NC RIFF

10-15 Employees last day Jan 23 2026. Blaming on poor 4th Qtr and scarce Q1 2026. Extreme pressures Q3 to pull in orders from 2026 and complete as much as possible at all cost for 2025. Worked hard to make that happen, long days and weekends. The reward was Riff. Thanks for NOTHING. Some very vital employees are being impacted. Some that hold the keys to the kingdom. Perhaps something greater happening to spin or absorb.

Massive layoff in Europe

Around 15% of the entire labour force is being made redundant. Those who joined two to four years ago are particularly affected, with no replacements being offered, and every department is impacted. The good news is that they are being slightly more generous in negotiations over the redundancy package.

Polygon Reportedly Cuts Nearly 30% of Staff in Post-Acquisition Layoff

  • Polygon has reportedly laid off nearly 30% of its workforce, based on insider information and emerging social media reports.
  • The cuts follow Polygon’s pivot toward stablecoin payments and its $250 million acquisition of Coinme and Sequence.
  • Polygon confirmed that the layoffs are part of post-acquisition integration, and overall headcount is expected to remain stable.

No PTO Payout

Just wow. I was displaced (last day of employment was 12/26/25). Unused PTO payout is due the last day of employment. WF did not make that final payment. When I called, HR Service Center the automated message says payment will be made Jan 30th??? WTH?! Will that include interest?

Lousy and incompetent!

Ageism Disguised as Layoffs- worst examples?

The average age of employees grades 14-17 seems to have dropped by over 10 years since 2022 at least in Sekou’s org. Clearly driven by layoffs. We’ve seen what looks like blatant examples of age discrimination. Pushing an over 50 to a unique role, replacing with a 30 something, a year later eliminating the unique role. Thats pretty common. What’s the worst example you’ve seen of age discrimination?

H1b on high risk

RF Sr Manager here Just had a meeting with my Sr. Director & it looks like most of the folks impacted on my team are H-1B employees, mainly to reduce OPEX costs. That’s really sad. We have some truly great people on the team and they’re top performers. It’s honestly worrying and disappointing.

If you want to get the severance - proven method

Many of us would just like to be done with CA. The constant layoffs create undue stress on the employees. The stress and the health effects are not worth a couple of dollars extra.
But I wanted the severance as many of us do. Afterall in the world of layoffs why should we get the severance when we leave.
So, this is how I did it.
1) Quietly back off on the work you do. Be less productive but not to the point where HR takes notice.
2) Throw in a couple of mistakes here and there.
3) This is key. Casually let your boss know that you are thinking about retiring or leaving the company. Nothing official and absolutely nothing in writing. Provide no solid date.
a. If you do this well, they will start planning for your departure.
4) Never quit. Just mention is casually here and there. Eventually they will plan for your departure but when you do not leave, they will be forced into a layoff.
There! Several is not many thousands of dollars in your pocket.
