For those of you who have been let go......

How long did it take for the toxicity to leave your system? When did the happiness start again in your life? I'm going though the 5 stages, but can already tell I am much more calm and don't need the bottle anymore. I'm thinking it just gets better from here. Money? Yep need that, and it is inducing some stress into my life, but it feels much different than the environment at work while I was there.
At least on the money side, I can take personal action to fix it. The office environment? Nope. Just had to endure.....

Severance Pay - Share your Numbers!

Bored. I can’t hide the fact that I’m nervous about layoffs. I’ve been with the company for over 8 years.

If you’re open to sharing, how many years did you work for the company, what was your salary at the time, and how much did you get paid? Did it include bonus? What’s the tax percentage they held?

Wow

I was coming on here to vent but I see that the current employees are doing a better job at the hatred and digs.

I actually feel sorry for everyone - and I mean everyone.

This is sad, pathetic and a waste of my time and energy.

Good luck to everyone. I’m free - and I’m so glad they laid me off.

Hallelujah

How long did it take you to get over the layoff anger?

Laid off on Mon after 6 mo in tech sales... Dell overhired, new leader cut over half the team... now 40% of the group that started with me is gone.

I outsold the 3 peers from my start cohort who were kept.... This now feels targeted. Feels like the mgr did not like me.

she told me she lovd working with me and said I was good at my job. That stings. I suspect she had some say in who stayed. I know resentment hurts me more than them but it is hard to switch off.

Questions for people on this blog:

Have you been through this??

What helped you move past the anger???

How long did it take before the sting faded??

Quitting vs Layoff

If people would just follow through with their theats of quitting then we would have less layoffs. Every post seems to be “I’m the best employee ever and blah blah blah happened to me”. Nobody cares. If it’s illegal or wrongful termination get a lawyer and handle it like a normal person. Otherwise it’s just noise.

More layoffs this month

I've heard more rumors about layoffs continuing throughout the month. What are the chances that's not true? I'm so exhausted from layoffs that I could use at least some time not to have to worry 24/7.

Lay-Off Next Day Options

Honest question about FMP next day options. I'm curious what services for cel phone did people move too? I seem to have found a good deal at Mint and with the Duel eSIM thing I found it rather simple to spin up a second line to migrate away from T. It was 90% less than what T changed my bill to after the loss of the employee discount. Did anyone find better deals ?

End-of-Year Self-Evaluations

How do employees counter when Management tries to gives us a “needs improvement” rating (rather than a “Meets”) on our year-end review when we were moved into a new role? Of course there is going to be a learning curve, but I feel like we are being unfairly rated because we never asked to be moved into this new role…was voluntold.

I feel like Management will try and use this as a reason to justify a lower rating and/or as justification for eventually laying us off. What can we write in our end of year self-eval to give us some worth or value.

BTW, their justification in the past is that even though your daily responsibilities are totally different and new skill sets, it still falls under the same job title description. Total BS in my opinion.

I should have researched this place better

This is the only job I’ve ever had where I have to worry about layoffs every two weeks. I’ve worked for other major banks, I’ve worked in other industries too, and nowhere was it ever this bad. I thought joining Wells Fargo would be a great career opportunity for me. Instead, I’m already looking for something else because I’ll be damned if I’m going to stay at a place where layoffs are such a normal, accepted thing that they happen every 14 days. I can lose the pay raise I got by moving here, I don’t even care, but I’m not staying.

RTO - 8 hours 3 days per week - ITS THE NEW BEEF!

Right... PTO is for taking time off. BUT BUT.... when you start measuring 15 minute increments to adhere to the new rules....sounds like clocking in to me! Give me a break people - those of you who have not yet experienced the wrath of the RTO.... yep you just wait. Sounds like Chicken Little syndrome.

OK then. Call later when you are dinged at review time for stupid infractions that are measured by.....UH HUH....the key card.

"Gosh Blake....you didn't meet your in-office requirements on 10/30/25. Its in Workday. As your manager, I'm REQUIRED to drop your rating. Before you did everything we expected and I had you as a MEETS. But by HR requirements I have to drop you to a "INCONSISTENT MEETS". I'm sorry Blake, I like you, I really do. But I have no choice in this matter."

"But Sir, Sir! I've done everything! Even when my first born was coming out, I was working an issue for the bank!"

"Blake, it doesn't matter. I'm sorry. There is nothing I can do. You should have clocked in earlier or came in for another day for a longer period."

"In fact, we are on a bell curve. This means I have to rate everyone, and you, because you missed 15 minutes on a 3 day period, you are now summarily dismissed".

"But Sir!! I've done everything you've asked! I stayed late! I didn't bottle feed my kid because you needed me! My wife (bless her soul) had to stand in!

"Isn't my sacrifice worth anything? Anything at all?"

"No Blake, I have no choice in this matter, I'm sorry. Pack your stuff, you are done"

Fade to black....yep. That's it folks.

IMHO

Everything feels like mass attrition

Every option on the table seems designed to make you quit, get you fired, or push you out in a layoff. Not even relocation looks like a saving grace if you manage to survive the cuts. It’s clear they just want to get rid of us and offshore everything that can possibly be offshored.

No point worrying about all the implications of RTO

It’s here to make you leave. And the conditions will only get tougher and harder to meet over time. It’s not that leadership doesn’t care about the difficulties RTO creates, they’re actively trying to make people fed up enough to quit, or set them up so they can fire them with an excuse. It’s that simple. The best move is to look for other opportunities, do the bare minimum here, and force them to lay you off with severance. I don’t see any other option.

Hillsboro Oregon

One benefit to my eventual layoff is I will never come back to this layoff chat again. Most comments are negative. WF and any other company has the right to set expectations. If you don't like them, you can find a better fit for yourself. I loved my job ( 90% of the time). I had some amazing managers and met some great friends over the many years I've worked here. Can I complain about some things? Sure. But for the most part, I have no complaints. There will be many things I'll miss once I no longer work here. Best to you all. Hillsboro OR hang in there. This chapter will soon come to an end.
